Unknowingly, more listeners had gathered around, but they were all quietly listening, only speaking up occasionally with questions.
"The dragon we saved from our village is a White Dragon, while the one fighting in the sky is a Black Dragon. They are definitely not the same one. After all, while length can be mistaken from a distance, color cannot. Black and white are opposites; how could one possibly confuse them?"
"After that, no one saw the dragon again, and life continued as peacefully as before. However, for many years following that event, our area experienced good weather and bountiful harvests. Even when droughts and floods struck other places severely, we here enjoyed abundant crops.
The elders in the village say that it is the dragon repaying our kindness. Since then, our village has been named Fulong Village to commemorate this tale."
...
At the Dragon Emperor Mountain Range, a Black Dragon suddenly appeared over a hundred feet away. It did not grow to that size instantly; rather, it started at just a few feet long and gradually expanded over several breaths until it reached over a hundred feet.
The Black Dragon was enormous, its black scales shimmering ominously. Its horns were fierce, and it had four claws beneath it, resembling a traditional Chinese Dragon.
However, unlike the auspicious red and gold dragons of typical stories, this one exuded a domineering and oppressive black aura.
The Black Dragon twisted its body, stirring up the winds and clouds across the entire mountain range.
All the monsters that witnessed it displayed expressions of awe; many trembled in fear and couldn't help but worship.
"Ha! If you're going to play this big, then I won't hold back either!"
As he spoke, Ye Mingshang's demeanor suddenly changed; he no longer radiated youthful energy and vitality but instead carried an air of weariness filled with the scent of blood and slaughter.
A dark red aura swirled around him, exuding an overwhelming presence that changed the colors of the winds and clouds behind him, creating an extremely frightening sight.
"Roar!!!"
With a tremendous Dragon Roar, the Black Dragon twisted its body and lunged forward.
Boom!!!
Accompanied by a tremendous roar, the clash of magical forces generated immense shockwaves and destruction, turning mountains into powder and evaporating lakes.
The blinding light beneath the Eight Great Vajras was so overwhelming that it rendered anyone below that level unqualified to even watch.
As the light dissipated, the area within ten miles of the battle's epicenter was flattened.
In the sky, a hundred-foot-long black dragon soared, its whiskers and mane moving as if stirred by an invisible wind, its large eyes shining with intensity and an imposing aura.
Opposite it floated a figure that appeared even smaller than an ant.
This was Ye Mingshang, but his current state was far from good.
His clothes were tattered, his body covered in wounds, and his skin was smeared with bright red blood, making him look like a person made of blood at first glance.
Despite this, he still smiled: "Little Dragon, you've indeed become stronger."
The Old Dragon replied solemnly, "If my elder brother were alive, I would still not be his match now."
Ye Mingshang chuckled lightly, and the weariness in his eyes faded away, revealing a clear gaze.
"Hehe, old man, you really are impressive." With a grim smile, Ye Mingshang rolled his eyes and fell from the sky.
Underworld River quickly moved to catch him, but another figure arrived even faster.
The temperature in the air suddenly dropped by several dozen degrees, causing the surrounding air to crystallize into ice flowers.
In the sky, an extraordinarily beautiful woman lightly stepped on thin sheets of ice as she descended through the air.
Seeing that familiar figure covered in blood falling down, her heart raced with anxiety.
After catching Ye Mingshang, she did not do anything else but leaned her mouth closer to him.
This was not about kissing, but about healing.
A luminous white light began to emerge from the throat, slowly being expelled from the mouth and placed into Ye Mingshang's mouth.
The two embraced and kissed, and that luminous white light became a bridge connecting them.
After a few breaths, Li Mengyu retracted the inner core, her delicate face slightly pale.
Although Ye Mingshang was covered in blood, his body was unharmed; he just needed to wash up and rest for a night.
"This woman actually dared to contribute her inner core; she truly deserves the attention of the elder brother, willing to give everything for him," Underworld River thought to himself.
Having healed Ye Mingshang, Li Mengyu let out a sigh of relief, but soon after, a wave of anger surged within her as she coldly glared at Underworld River hovering nearby.
In an instant, the temperature in the air dropped again, becoming even lower than that on Himalayan Snow Mountain.
Due to the humid climate here, with plenty of moisture in the air, ice shards began to fall rapidly.
"If it weren't for your connection with Mingshang, I would have dealt with you," though she did not speak, this thought appeared in Underworld River's mind.
Underworld River snorted coldly: "Are you really relying on your elder brother’s favor? With that attitude, I could easily take you down. Even if you are the Ghost King, in my eyes, you are nothing but a joke."
In his past life, he had been polite to Ye Mingshang because she had saved his life and treated him well; he recognized her as an elder brother.
But he had no such patience for others.
Li Mengyu narrowed her eyes, and the air around her grew even colder. Ice and snow spread further away and began to encroach upon Underworld River. Underworld River snorted again and countered with his own demonic energy.
The cold air clashed with the demonic energy, resulting in a standoff where neither side gained an advantage.
Finally, a voice echoed in Underworld River's mind, prompting him to withdraw his demonic energy and allow the cold air to advance towards him.
The cold air spread, freezing a small part of Underworld River's body before it finally stopped.
Li Mengyu was not someone who lacked judgment. Although she was angry that the other party had hurt Ye Mingshang, she understood their relationship and knew they would not kill each other.
Therefore, upon seeing the other party's show of weakness, she took advantage of it and withdrew without being greedy.
"Are you satisfied now?" Underworld River said helplessly.
"Hmph!" Li Mengyu shot him a cold glare, holding Ye Mingshang and turning to leave.
Watching her depart, Underworld River murmured to himself, "Ouyang Xue, I hope you live well with your brother and do not let him down for everything he has done for you."
"If you don't understand everything, don't jump to conclusions. Xiaoyu's sacrifices are not any less than Ming Shang's," a gentle female voice echoed in his mind; it was Bai Xiangxue's voice.
Underworld River sighed with a bitter smile, "Madam, why do you want me to let her go? Look, I've been frozen."
"What else do you want? You hurt our son as soon as he returned and almost got into a fight with your daughter-in-law. Do you think you have any reason to complain? Is this how you act as a father and a father-in-law?!" Bai Xiangxue scolded.
Underworld River broke into a cold sweat. He wanted to argue but knew that reasoning with women was futile.
Rather than dealing with a heap of trouble later, it was better to give in now.
(To be continued.)
