The car sped down the road, and Cheng Yi curiously leaned against the window to look outside.
"What is this metal box? It goes so fast, even faster than my dad's."
Mengyu chuckled lightly, "This is called a car; it's a mode of transportation in the Mortal Realm."
"Oh, I see."
Ye Mingshang glanced at Mengyu with some surprise.
Mengyu smiled slightly, "I haven't just stayed in the Underworld for the past fifty years, you know. I occasionally come to the Mortal Realm to take a look."
The roads here were wide, and once they were out of the snow-covered areas, they could pick up speed.
There's no need for me to elaborate on how fast these luxury cars, worth millions, can go.
In the evening, they arrived at the nearest city.
They found the best hotel in the area, and Ye Mingshang took the car for a wash. After all, they would be leaving in a few days, and even though it was a rental, it wouldn't be good to return it too dirty.
"Wow! What is this? It's so delicious and fragrant!"
When Ye Mingshang returned, Cheng Yi was happily drinking a bowl of Butter Tea.
"It's cold, have some Butter Tea to warm yourself up," Li Mengyu said as she pushed a small bowl towards him when she saw him return.
Picking up the small bowl, Ye Mingshang took a big sip and asked, "You've been running for a whole day and night, aren't you hungry?"
"I'm fine."
"I'm hungry!" Cheng Yi shouted while hugging the small bowl.
"Waiter, bring the menu."
The waiter stared blankly at the pile of items Ye Mingshang ordered and did not move away.
"Why aren't you reporting the order?" Ye Mingshang asked in confusion.
"Um, are you sure you want this much?" the waiter asked incredulously.
Ye Mingshang frowned. "Of course, what's wrong? Hurry up and report the order; we're all hungry."
The waiter showed a troubled expression. "Um, may I ask if you have any friends who haven't arrived yet?"
"No, it's just the three of us."
"But with this many dishes, are you sure you can eat it all?"
"Whether I can eat it or not is my business; what does it have to do with you?" Ye Mingshang replied unhappily.
The waiter looked a bit troubled, thinking to himself, "This person seems quite well-off. Is he trying to dine and dash? If that's the case, I’ll definitely have my wages deducted again."
"Um, sir, if possible, could you please pay the bill first?"
Ye Mingshang replied unhappily, "What? Are you afraid I’ll run away? How much is it?"
"Two thousand three."
Li Mengyu looked at Ye Mingshang, who was sulking and angrily tapping his bowl with chopsticks, and smiled sweetly, finding him quite adorable in that moment.
So cute!
It seemed that after Ye Mingshang found him, he had let go of some of his aloofness and coldness, appearing more like a half-grown child.
They say men are just eternal children; it seems there’s some truth to that.
"Hurry up! Do you want to starve me to death?"
Seeing the waiter pass by, Ye Mingshang shouted, still upset about the earlier incident.
The waiter, feeling guilty, didn’t dare to respond. He forced a smile and said he would hurry along before quickly walking away.
"Don't make it hard for her; they have it tough too," Li Mengyu advised gently.
"Alright, I’ll listen to you," Ye Mingshang said with a big smile.
At this time, there were quite a few people eating, and the dishes were served a bit slowly. When a plate of food arrived, Ye Mingshang first served Mengyu before giving some to Cheng Yi.
Don't be fooled by Cheng Yi being a child; his appetite was not much smaller than Ye Mingshang's. That little bit of food was hardly enough for him.
Ye Mingshang wasn't hungry, as with his current level, he could go months without food and not feel too famished.
However, not being hungry didn't mean he wasn't craving food. Having come to Tibet, he had gone to the snow-capped mountains and hadn't had the chance to taste the local delicacies yet, which made him quite anxious.
The aromas had been tempting him for quite some time.
"Ming Shang, why don't you eat first?" Mengyu pushed her small plate over to him.
"It's fine, I'm not hungry. You go ahead and eat; don't starve yourself," Ye Mingshang said with a smile, waving his hand.
It wasn't long before several dishes were served one after another, but Ye Mingshang hadn't eaten a single bite.
Mengyu also didn't eat much; most of it was consumed by the little fellow Cheng Yi. Despite his small size, he was quite fierce when it came to eating.
By now, several people had noticed this unusually large-eating little fellow. Some wanted to take pictures but refrained from pulling out their phones out of politeness.
After all, this was a relatively upscale restaurant with a decent spending level. Aside from a few nouveau riche, most people were quite cultured.
"Sir, your roasted beef," came the voice of the waiter from over there.
In these highland areas where land is vast and population sparse, with rich grassland resources, cattle and sheep were in abundance.
Eating large chunks of meat is one of the main features here.
Many tourists who come here will order some big pieces of meat to taste the local specialties.
Different places have different cooking methods, but each has its own charm. Although the pieces of meat are large, they are not greasy, and even those with small appetites can eat a lot.
However, this bowl of roasted meat is a bit too much.
Ye Mingshang ordered ten pounds of roasted meat, and it was quite a struggle for a young female server to carry it; in the end, a kitchen assistant helped her bring it out.
On one hand, no man would refuse to help a girl, especially if she is pretty.
On the other hand, he wanted to see who could eat so much.
According to the server, there were only three people in total: one was Child, and the other was a very thin woman.
Since that’s the case, it leaves just one man. However, some women can eat quite a lot.
There are many competitive eaters online who are girls; they often appear very slim but have huge appetites.
But this bowl is not meant for Mengyu.
Happily receiving the roasted meat, Ye Mingshang first served some to Mengyu and then placed the large bowl in front of him.
There was no rush to eat; this was originally ordered for him.
"Mm~ so delicious."
The aroma of the spices combined with the freshness of the beef made Ye Mingshang's index finger move eagerly, grabbing a large piece onto his plate, and he finished it in just a few bites.
Then, another piece.
Another one.
Continuing...
The bowl of beef quickly reached the bottom under the astonished gazes of several people.
The waitress, with her beautiful eyes wide open, initially thought they ordered so much either to skip out on the bill or to indulge in a lavish meal on someone else's expense, which was purely wasteful.
After he paid, she assumed they were just wealthy and wouldn't eat much. Either they would have to throw it away or take it home.
She never expected this person to be so fierce, eating meat like a hungry wolf.
He devoured pieces as big as his fist, and despite consuming so much, his stomach showed no signs of fullness, as if he were an endless pit. (To be continued.)
