Upon seeing the monster lying by the roadside, nearly blocking the entire passage, everyone immediately heightened their vigilance.
The giant beast was still alive, but it was breathing shallowly and would soon perish if it continued like this.
However, even in its weakened state, its massive size still exuded a terrifying sense of oppression.
At a total length of seven to eight meters, it was an enormous creature compared to the smaller Sahara and others. Just lying there, its height was slightly above that of an average person, covered in dark, hard scales that emitted a chilling cold light. Its half-open eyes, though murky and lifeless, sent shivers down one's spine when stared at.
Such a colossal creature would be difficult to kill even with firearms; however, there were only some old bullet holes visible here, clearly left by the professor's team during their previous encounter.
It wasn't until the monster had completely ceased to breathe that someone cautiously began to examine the giant crocodile's injuries.
After testing it and confirming that the giant crocodile had indeed stopped breathing and showed no reaction to gunfire, the person finally jumped onto its body.
First shocked by the crocodile's immense size, they knocked on its scales that glimmered with a cold light. To their surprise, it produced a "ding ding" sound as if striking metal, indicating that the strength of its scales was at least comparable to cast iron.
With its entire body covered in hard scales, this meant that ordinary bullets would hardly inflict any damage unless armor-piercing rounds were used.
Such a level of defense likely meant that only shots aimed at its eyes or mouth—areas without scale protection—could potentially harm it...
One could imagine the catastrophic losses they would face if this monster were still alive and they recklessly attacked without understanding its true strength!
With a slight sigh, the person continued searching on the giant crocodile's body. They wanted to know what terrifying Fellow had managed to kill such a Prehistoric Beast.
After careful examination, they discovered that there was only one wound on the giant crocodile's entire body. It was located on its hardest part—the head—where a dent about ten centimeters in diameter had been inflicted by a heavy blow.
The person looked at the indentation and, for some reason, placed his fist on it.
"It seems to fit quite well..."
Seeing that the person had been silent for a long time, someone asked, "Hey! Did you figure something out?"
The person jumped down from the crocodile and, with a flickering gaze, said, "Based on my observations, the scales of this giant crocodile have a very high strength, similar to metal, which can defend against regular bullet attacks."
The crowd's expressions turned serious. Their most effective means of attack was firearms; if guns were ineffective, then facing such prehistoric beasts would be like fish on a chopping board, waiting to be slaughtered.
"Then how did it die?"
Indeed, this was also a concern for everyone. What kind of existence defeated this monster? Was it humans or another prehistoric beast even stronger than it? If it was the former, that would be acceptable, but if it was the latter, they would need to reconsider whether they could reach the Celestial Abode.
"The giant crocodile has only one wound on its body, which is a dent in its skull caused by a heavy blow to the head. The cause of death is likely due to brain damage."
The skull is one of the hardest parts of any animal, especially for such a flat-headed creature. Coupled with its protective scales, it was akin to wearing a layer of bulletproof armor. To cause brain death through a heavy blow would indeed require an enormous amount of force.
What kind of existence could have killed it? This was the doubt in everyone's mind.
The person's gaze flickered again. Luo Chenghui noticed his unusual demeanor and said, "Why don't you share your thoughts?"
After hesitating for a moment, the person finally expressed his opinion.
"What?! It was killed by a single punch?!"
"I mean, are you out of your mind?"
"You said this thing is bulletproof, but whose fist has that much power?"
"I heard that a top Boxer can deliver a punch with a force of one ton, but even that kind of power would hardly cause any substantial damage."
The man smiled wryly. "I know you don't believe me. To be honest, I don't believe it either, but there is indeed an imprint of a fist in the dent. If you don't believe me, go take a look for yourselves."
"I still find this hard to believe." Someone jumped onto the crocodile's head, initially shocked by the hardness of its scales, and then noticed the strange dent on its forehead. They clearly saw the imprint of a fist above and instinctively placed their own fist over it to compare.
"It really matches!"
"Huh? You’re all here."
A clear voice came from behind as the group led by Glasses Youth arrived. They were only a few minutes late.
The two sides faced off against each other, both armed and ready. Although half of Glasses Youth's group stayed up, their larger numbers still gave them an advantage.
These two had always been rivals. Previously on Land, they had refrained from conflict due to uncertainty about the true nature of Sand Vortex, both harboring thoughts of testing each other. Now that the entrance was confirmed to be real, tensions naturally escalated.
"Huh? What’s that? What is that thing!" Glasses Youth looked at the massive creature behind them, suddenly feeling a chill.
There was no way to hide the giant crocodile; it was much taller than an average person when lying down. Moreover, everyone had not made any effort to conceal it, so it was only natural for the other side to see it.
"That's the guard dog here; there's something even more terrifying behind it. If you want to die here together, then go ahead and attack," the professor's voice appeared just in time.
"Did you kill this?" Glasses Youth asked with a serious expression.
"No."
Luo Chenghui's response relieved him, but he quickly became tense again. Because if it wasn't them, then there was likely an even more powerful monster out there.
"This monster was killed by a single punch from a human."
"What?!" Glasses and his group were shocked.
Killed by a single punch from a human? That's ridiculous! How much strength would it take to kill such a large crocodile? Even crashing a car into it would require a Truck, right?
Seeing their disbelief, Luo Chenghui shrugged. "Believe it or not, the crocodile is right there. If you don't believe me, go see for yourself."
Glasses Youth's gaze flickered for a moment, but in the end, he still walked over alone without anyone accompanying him. This demeanor made even Luo Chenghui nod in approval.
Glasses dared to do this because he had his own considerations. In this narrow passage, if both sides opened fire, it would naturally be them with the stronger weapons who would win. If he were captured, the other side would have to consider their retaliation as well.
Climbing onto the giant crocodile's body, he couldn't help but knock on its metallic-looking scales, producing a "ding ding" sound.
"Iron?"
Glasses was startled and then looked at the dent on its forehead, where a clear fist mark seemed to be branded on it.
