Yin Yang Demon Suppression
Ye Mingshang nodded. Were they in the same class? But he had just arrived, so he might not know them.
"Hey, it's you." He thought he wouldn't recognize anyone, but as soon as he opened the door, he saw a sunny and handsome young man, Zhi Mu.
"Hi! Brother Ye," Zhi Mu greeted him with a warm smile.
"Mm." Ye Mingshang nodded in response.
"Oh, you know each other. No need for introductions then. Please, have a seat."
Everyone had just arrived, and the food hadn't been served yet. Taking advantage of the time, they started chatting. It turned out that Zhi Mu was here because he had gotten close to the doll-faced girl, Yuan Yuan. With Yuan Yuan's personality, she naturally wanted to bring him to meet her friends and show off a bit.
Zhi Mu was undeniably refined and elegant, with a sunny and handsome demeanor that reminded one of Minato from Naruto; he was quite popular. Although he was a student in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, his reputation in school was significant, making him somewhat of a campus heartthrob.
"Congratulations to both of you," Ye Mingshang smiled and offered his blessings.
"Hmph~ Is that all? No gift?" Yuan Yuan crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
"That will have to wait until your wedding," Ye Mingshang joked, catching Yuan Yuan off guard and leaving her speechless.
After stepping out of the illusion, Ye Mingshang seemed much brighter; it was unclear what he had seen or what had changed him.
The atmosphere among them was cheerful. Yuan Yuan kept defending Zhi Mu, praising him endlessly, while Zhi Mu looked at her with starry eyes when he spoke. Eventually, someone couldn't help but suggest that since she liked him so much, they might as well have a child together.
Yuan Yuan's face was flushed with embarrassment, while Zhi Mu remained calm and composed.
"Haha! Let's wait until after the wedding for that kind of thing."
"Wow, so you really plan to get married!"
"Congratulations."
As the group was joking around, the dishes began to arrive one after another. They weren't particularly expensive, just ordinary food, but Sichuan cuisine is flavorful and popular across the country.
Just as everyone was enjoying their meal, an unexpected guest arrived.
"Haha! Limitless Respect! Greetings to you all." A short, dark-skinned man in a blue Daoist robe, known as the Fat Taoist, entered while bowing.
"Who are you?" Ye Mingshang frowned.
"Haha! This humble Taoist happened to pass by and noticed the North Star shining unusually bright. I suspected that someone with great fortune is here, so I came to pay a visit."
The Fat Taoist's words caught the attention of several girls. Could this Taoist really have some genuine skills? Did he truly know about Brother Ye's extraordinary nature?
"However, my daily divination indicates that you may face some bloodshed soon," the Fat Taoist said, frowning with a worried expression.
"You are correct," Ye Mingshang confirmed.
The others were startled. Could it be that Brother Ye was really going to encounter some disaster? Was the Fat Taoist's prediction accurate?
"I often encounter disasters, so you might as well find someone else for these words." Ye Mingshang continued eating from his bowl, ignoring him.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief; it turned out that the Fat Taoist was indeed a fraud. A few had just been overly tense. However, the Fat Taoist showed no signs of embarrassment and turned to the gentle and refined Zhi Mu.
"Haha, brother, I see your courtyard is full and your land is square. You are like the Star of Literature descended to this world, living a life free of worries and sailing smoothly. But alas, you may face a calamity brought by a beautiful woman, destined to be lonely," the Fat Taoist said with a look of regret.
Zhi Mu remained unfazed, but Yuan Yuan grew anxious since she was close to Zhi Mu. After all, if Zhi Mu was destined for a calamity brought by a beautiful woman, that could only refer to her! She immediately scolded the Fat Taoist.
"Amitabha! No. Limitless Respect! Everything has its own destiny; believing or not believing is futile," the Fat Taoist quickly corrected himself after misreading his lines and then retreated.
Faintly, they seemed to hear the sound of the Fat Taoist's voice from the next room as he opened the door, "Limitless Respect! I offer one divination every day..."
They couldn't help but shake their heads and smile bitterly. Nima! What a weirdo!
After dinner, Ya suggested going out for karaoke. However, Ye Mingshang was too tired and wanted to rest properly, so he declined. Ya felt a bit disappointed; she had wanted to spend more time with Ye Mingshang. Yuan Yuan was quite happy and clapped her hands in delight, while Zhi Mu always wore a smile and had never seen him refuse anything.
They went out to have fun while Ye Mingshang returned alone to his dormitory. Just as he lay down, he received a text message from Lin Qianqian.
"Brother Ye, do you have time tomorrow?"
"What’s up?"
"Um... you remember I told you I also do feng shui? He heard that you can perform Exorcism and wants to meet you."
"What time?"
"There's no class in the afternoon, is five o'clock tomorrow okay?"
"Sure."
...
He did not refuse Lin Qianqian's invitation; after all, he was quite free. University classes were sparse, and much of his time was spent daydreaming or sleeping. Some might wonder why he didn't use that time to cultivate. In truth, at his level of power, there was no need for deliberate enhancement. By standardized measures, his abilities had already surpassed many of his peers.
He had reached the peak of the Master Realm early on but had yet to eliminate the Three Corpse Worms to become a Human Immortal. Although he was still young and had plenty of time ahead, history showed that others his age who reached the Master Realm were few and far between when it came to successfully eliminating the Three Corpse and becoming Human Immortals.
Perhaps due to his unique constitution, he was born with innate power. After mastering the Yin-Yang Techniques, his abilities surged without much effort. If those who secluded themselves in the mountains for rigorous training knew about his natural talent, they would likely be infuriated.
That night, he slept soundly and opened his eyes with the first rays of sunlight hitting his face. Stretching lazily like a carp leaping out of water, he got up. After a quick wash, he headed to the school playground for a run.
Despite his abundant power, his body still required exercise to maintain vitality like any ordinary person. Running also helped him refine his control over energy and improve the purity of his power.
Ye Mingshang ran swiftly, like a gust of wind. Unlike others who exerted themselves heavily while running and made loud noises, he seemed to glide effortlessly as if riding the wind, exuding a sense of fluidity.
Though it wasn't a sports school, some people enjoyed early morning runs. A young man who was sweating profusely while trying to control his breathing and pace suddenly felt a refreshing breeze. Initially thinking it was just natural wind, he then saw a figure sprinting by as if using some kind of cheat code. Startled, he stumbled and nearly fell.
After running, the exhilaration brought on by sweat felt incredibly satisfying; perhaps this was the thrill sought by those who loved running. Although the process could be painful, the relaxation afterward was intoxicating.
After grabbing a quick bite and taking a shower, it was almost time for class. On the way, he encountered the peculiar Iceberg Teacher again. She still wore her usual expressionless face; despite her dignified appearance, her cold demeanor left no room for inappropriate thoughts.
The two exchanged no words, but Iceberg Teacher shot Ye Mingshang a cold glance. He paid no mind to her attitude because they were from different worlds and destined not to have much interaction. Why bother with such matters? For him, attending school felt like experiencing worldly life; it merely filled a void in his heart. Who knew when he might decide to leave?
"Wow! It's so cold!" A student passing by suddenly shivered. He didn't know the Iceberg Teacher and hadn't seen that cold gaze before, yet he felt an inexplicable chill. Perhaps it was the innate sense of danger that animals possess.
The classmates arrived early today, and the large classroom was almost filled. Zhi Mu had also come early and smiled to greet Ye Mingshang.
Not long after sitting down, Ye Mingshang felt a gaze occasionally directed at him. Turning his head, he saw a chubby boy wearing glasses sitting to his right. As soon as their eyes met, the boy quickly looked away. After a while, however, he subtly raised his gaze again, prompting Ye Mingshang to frown.
"Is there something you need?"
The chubby classmate glanced at Ye Mingshang as if he had made a significant decision and pulled out his phone, pointing at the screen. "Is this you?"
The screen displayed a video of him alone confronting Xu Sheng. Due to the distance and the poor quality of the phone's camera, the person's face wasn't clearly visible. The student just felt that Ye Mingshang resembled the person in the video, which is why he kept sneaking glances.
Ye Mingshang shook his head to deny it. The footage had been captured due to his negligence, and fortunately, his face wasn't clear; otherwise, being recognized would have led to trouble. As for Xu Sheng, he certainly wouldn't admit to being the villain begging for mercy; that was already embarrassing enough.
Before long, at eight o'clock sharp, a middle-aged teacher wearing glasses and looking quite refined walked onto the stage with a thick book in hand. Ye Mingshang recognized him as the first teacher he had encountered. He really liked this teacher's classes. What could be dull and tedious about traditional Chinese medicine became fascinating under his instruction, with fresh insights that always caught people's attention. Although not favored by senior professors, he was very popular among young people.
Today's lesson was about the origins and anecdotes of the Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon). He didn't directly ask everyone to memorize those prescriptions or rigidly explain the principles but instead shared stories behind several selected formulas. Although he didn't specifically elaborate on the principles and medicinal effects, it effectively helped everyone unconsciously remember them in their minds.
