Yin Yang Demon Suppression
As the spell seal was placed, Joan's demeanor changed, and his entire aura became vast.
"I feel like I'm filled with power!" Joan exclaimed in shock as he clenched his fists.
Old Ma was equally startled. "Aren't you supposed to be possessed by Lu Zu? Why does he still have his own will?"
Possessing a spirit means completely surrendering one's body to the deity, which was what he understood. He had never heard of a method that allowed one to borrow power while keeping the host conscious. Could it be that Dao Seed?
"Alright, stop dawdling and take care of that Fellow."
Joan snapped back to reality and agreed before rushing out. However, he was unaccustomed to the overwhelming power and ended up using too much force, causing a crack in the ground as he flew out.
"Bang!" In Nie Jin's terrified gaze, a figure gradually enlarged and crashed into him.
"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" Joan stood up, rubbing his aching head.
"Damn it! You bastard!" Nie Jin gritted his teeth.
Glancing back at the ferocious-looking Nie Jin, Joan suddenly broke into a strange smile. He controlled his power to approach Nie Jin and swung his palm, sending Nie Jin flying with a slap.
"Ah!" Nie Jin screamed as he crashed hard against a pillar.
"Damn it!!!" Nie Jin roared in anger. It was one thing to be bullied by Ye Mingshang and Dunkong, but now this insignificant little bug dared to bully him too! And had become so strong!
"Do you really think I have no means?!" Nie Jin glared fiercely, quickly forming hand seals with both hands. His voice was deep and magnetic. "Soldiers! All fighters! Form ranks and advance!" As the hand seals continued to change, Nie Jin's aura grew fainter, and the momentum emanating from his body slowly shrank until it was nearly imperceptible.
For Nie Jin, the shift in aura from strong to weak does not imply that Ye Mingshang thinks he has truly weakened. However, he is not overly concerned.
"Stupid Zombie, watch how I deal with you!" Joan, though carefree, senses that something is different about Nie Jin. Yet, he feels no fear or hesitation. This is not only because he temporarily possesses unmatched divine power, but also because he has reasons that prevent him from retreating, just like when he insisted on fighting dozens of people to become Ye Mingshang's disciple despite knowing he was outmatched. Everyone's persistence must have a reason that cannot be abandoned.
As Joan foolishly charges forward, Nie Jin smirks disdainfully. With his left hand extended, a loud Breaking Sound echoes as the dragon-patterned spear appears in his grasp. Without any unnecessary movements, he bends his right leg and pushes off with his left, placing his right hand naturally in front of him while gripping the spear tightly with his left and pulling it back forcefully.
"Stupid Zombie, die!" Joan rushes towards Nie Jin with controlled strength, throwing a punch without any combat experience.
Seeing the naive Joan, a hint of contempt curves Nie Jin's lips. No matter how strong one is, if they do not know how to utilize their power, they remain useless.
Just as Joan reaches the attack range, Nie Jin narrows his gaze and thrusts the spear forward like a dragon, aiming directly at Joan's Heart! If this strike lands, even with Lu Zu's protection, it could be fatal.
As the spear lunges towards him, Joan's pupils constrict as he desperately tries to dodge the attack.
However, before he can catch his breath, Nie Jin’s spear follows like a swimming dragon. Fortunately, under the influence of immense divine power, Joan’s perception and reflexes have reached a heightened state. Though narrowly escaping each time, he manages to evade the onslaught.
"Is this to train him?" Old Ma asks as he approaches Joan.
"Mm." Ye Mingshang nods noncommittally.
"What if he can't dodge Nie Jin's attack and gets seriously injured or dies?"
"If he could die under overwhelming strength, then he wouldn't qualify to follow me," Ye Mingshang replies calmly as if discussing an inconsequential matter.
Old Ma's pupils narrow as he falls silent; once again, he witnesses Ye Mingshang's indifference. Although following him may lead to significant short-term power gains, it could also mean losing one's life in an instant. It’s uncertain whether Joan is unlucky or fortunate.
Shaking his head to avoid overthinking it, he watches as Joan, who is desperately dodging and being overwhelmed in battle, makes him sweat for the young man. Despite their short time together, Old Ma has grown fond of this somewhat carefree yet sincere youth.
"Swish!" After dodging dozens of times, Nie Jin feigned an attack and then thrust a spear toward Joan's chest. Although he narrowly avoided a fatal injury, a shallow wound was left behind.
Veins bulged on Joan's forehead as cold sweat dripped down, intensifying the pain in his chest. Blood flowed freely from the wound, but unfortunately, he didn't know how to use a healing talisman and had no concept of using magic to stop the bleeding.
"Aren't you going to teach him?" Old Ma asked with concern.
Ye Mingshang remained silent, his silence representing his choice. He was a strong individual, a talent. This meant that his path would inevitably be filled with dangers and challenges. Even if he helped Joan survive this time, what about when he wasn't around? Of course, this didn't mean that Ye Mingshang would allow him to die; if Joan called for help, he would save him. However, that would only mean that Joan had the qualification to continue following him. If he couldn't keep up, it was better to maintain some distance.
"Damn it!" Joan couldn't help but curse. He wasn't cursing Nie Jin, but himself. Despite gaining such powerful strength, he still couldn't defeat Nie Jin and was being overwhelmed instead. Was he really that pathetic?
Without giving him a chance to catch his breath, Nie Jin attacked again. He knew that Joan wasn't the only opponent; there were also the monsters Ye Mingshang and Dunkong lurking nearby. Therefore, he had to eliminate this powerless Idiot as quickly as possible if he wanted to survive.
"Look at me!" Joan gritted his teeth as he noticed the disdain in Nie Jin's eyes. That look was like staring at a pile of garbage, and he hated it.
"Kid, rather than struggling uselessly, you might as well just die early," Nie Jin cruelly taunted.
Struggling to evade Nie Jin's attacks, more wounds began to appear on Joan's body. Changing his strategy, he attempted to widen the combat range by using his speed advantage.
"Really!" Seeing through Joan's intentions, Nie Jin sneered contemptuously as he stepped back, his spear making a rapid sound like a machine gun.
Just as he dashed past a pillar and was about to finish off Joan, he caught sight of a flash of light.
"Not good!"
"Boom!" An explosion erupted, engulfing everything in flames. The smoke from the blast obscured their vision.
It turned out that what seemed like an escape by Joan was actually part of a plan. Since he couldn't win in close combat, he decided not to fight at all. After seeing how powerful even the most basic Fire Bell Technique was when used by Ye Mingshang, he wondered if his newfound immense magical power could achieve similar results. With this thought in mind, he first used his speed to shake off Nie Jin, then affixed several Fire Bell Talismans onto the pillar. However, due to the time spent forming seals, he nearly got caught by Nie Jin.
Fortunately, the talisman was successfully detonated, as its magical power was abundant and its might was extraordinary, even surpassing that of Ye Mingshang. However, he did not believe that Nie Jin would die so easily. Without hesitation, after the explosion of the talisman, he immediately threw out another Fire Bell Talisman. Although he only knew this one technique, a swarm of ants could still take down an elephant, right?
"Golden Fire Flourishes, Jiao Lian Yuan Shen. Internal Protection Form, External Demon Spirit. Urgent Order!" Joan concentrated intensely, forming seals with his fastest speed. Although his strength was weak and he only knew one type of talisman, placing him at the bottom among the Sages, it was precisely because of this that he had practiced the Fire Bell Spell to great proficiency. With the enhancement of magical power, his speed was not slow at all.
"Boom!" As the spell seals were completed, a series of Fire Bell Talismans exploded before they even hit the ground, their power seemingly stronger than a tank's cannonball.
"Did I finally succeed?!" Joan said somewhat exhaustedly.
"Too real!"
"What?!"
A strong gust of wind blew away the smoke, revealing Nie Jin still standing there. Although many parts of his body were burned and injured from the explosion, they were not fatal and he was not even seriously wounded. Well, although the power was remarkable, it was ultimately a low-level talisman. Joan, who could not flexibly utilize talisman techniques to maximize the power of the Fire Bell Technique, had only transformed this Daoist Arts spell into an explosion.
"Even with stronger magical power, a waste is still a waste," Nie Jin scoffed disdainfully.
"Damn it!" Joan gritted his teeth, filled with unwillingness in his eyes. Unconsciously, he glanced at Ye Mingshang; although the other party's expression was indifferent, he saw a hint of contempt. This greatly provoked his inner feelings.
"No! I can't let this continue; I don't want to be treated like garbage anymore! Since my advantage is magical power, I will make good use of it!" Joan thought to himself.
"Die!" Nie Jin glared fiercely and lunged forward with his spear. Joan continued to dodge just as before; it seemed nothing had changed. His body bore a few more scars.
This deepened Nie Jin's disdain. After several dozen exchanges, he seized an opening in Joan's defense.
"This is my chance!" Nie Jin tightened his grip on the spear and thrust it toward Joan's abdomen. However, seeing all this, Joan merely smiled.
"Not good!" Nie Jin suddenly sensed something was off but thought that Joan had no means to counterattack and continued to thrust forward.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
Two sounds pierced through flesh and blood.
"What!" Nie Jin's face was filled with shock as he looked at the arm that had pierced through his chest. Nie Jin's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Thud!" Joan forcefully withdrew his right hand, kneeling on one knee on the ground while gripping the spear that had penetrated his abdomen.
However, compared to the pain, he felt more excitement. Had this powerful enemy finally died? Had he killed him?
Struggling against the pain, Joan stood up and revealed a big smile to Old Ma, who was rushing over. Suddenly, Old Ma's smile froze, his face filled with shock.
It turned out that Nie Jin was not dead. He was about to launch an attack when Joan was caught off guard, just as his sharp nails were about to reach Joan's heart.
"Thud!" A dagger plunged deep into Nie Jin's head.
