Chen Lin shook his head again. Second Uncle, too lazy to keep it a secret, said, "This is made from the ashes of six girls around twenty years old who committed suicide due to love. The bone powder is mixed with some Yin Liao and soaked in their flesh. After several months, we have refined six bottles of female ghost Corpse Oil."
I was shocked and carefully looked at the bottles in the wooden box, noticing indistinct objects floating inside. It turned out to be flesh from dead bodies. Chen Lin's face turned pale as he stared at the bottle that was more than half empty, looking as if he was about to vomit.
Second Uncle ignored him and continued, "These little ghosts can confuse others and help you deal with mistresses. They are the best choice for those who have been hurt by love. You kid are using it to attract romance; that's a good use."
Chen Lin's expression was grim. It took him quite some time to suppress his nausea before he continued speaking.
A few days after making a wish to the little ghost, he met a young girl online. They hit it off quickly with just a few words, met the next day, rented a room on the third day, and moved in together on the fourth.
The woman in bed was the girl he had met online. They lived together for a few days, enjoying themselves every night. Women's curiosity can sometimes surpass that of men. The girl noticed that Chen Lin went to worship the wooden box on the altar every day and asked what was inside.
Chen Lin wouldn't tell her it was a little ghost; instead, he made up an explanation that it was perfume brought back from abroad and that worshiping it could enhance one's charm. The girl thought he was joking; there were people who worshipped Buddha, some who worshipped brothers, and even those who worshipped cats and dogs, but she had never heard of anyone worshipping perfume.
Chen Lin didn't elaborate further. Later, he went downstairs to buy cigarettes while the girl picked up the wooden box from the table. She opened the lid and saw several colorful bottles inside; she really believed it was perfume.
Since it was perfume, she naturally wanted to try it out. So she picked up a bright red bottle, twisted off the cap with force, and poured it directly onto her wrist.
"Wait!" Second Uncle suddenly interrupted Chen Lin's narrative. He turned to look at the girl on the bed and asked, "Are you saying she poured the Corpse Oil on her wrist?"
Chen Lin nodded, his expression of disgust intensifying as he said, "Not only that, but because she smelled that strange odor, along with me accidentally spilling too much when I came back through the door, even some of the... flesh spilled out."
At this point, I imagined holding onto rotting flesh in my hand and felt goosebumps all over my body; my stomach churned as well. No wonder Chen Lin looked so pale earlier; someone with slightly weaker willpower might have already thrown up.
Second Uncle's expression wasn't any better; he glanced at the nearly empty Red Bottle and gestured for Chen Lin to continue his story.
Chen Lin took a few deep breaths and continued speaking.
He was startled when he saw the girl pour out the contents of the bottle, as he had no idea what was inside. Although he had glanced at it a few times, he couldn't see it clearly. The girl, not understanding what she was holding, was immediately overwhelmed by the foul smell and vomited, throwing the piece of meat she had in her hand onto the ground.
At that moment, Chen Lin felt helpless but didn't think much of it; it was just spilled, after all. The girl was furious, insisting that it wasn't perfume and questioning what kind of strange thing it was. Chen Lin tried to calm her down and eventually disposed of the now mostly empty Red Bottle to settle things.
That night, he groggily heard someone talking beside him. Turning his head, he saw a woman in a red dress with disheveled hair sitting on the bed. He was terrified and quickly turned on the light, only to realize it was his girlfriend.
However, she had clearly been wearing pajamas before going to bed; when had she changed clothes? Moreover, his girlfriend was crying uncontrollably, no matter how much he tried to comfort her. She remained silent throughout, only calming down and lying in bed as dawn approached. When she opened her eyes, she had completely forgotten about changing clothes and her tears.
Chen Lin thought this was just a prank by his girlfriend, but even stranger things happened the next night.
When he got up to use the bathroom that evening, he noticed his girlfriend wasn't beside him. As he prepared to head to the restroom, he suddenly heard voices coming from the living room. He quietly walked over and saw his girlfriend once again dressed in red, kneeling on the floor and murmuring to herself. He couldn't hear what she was saying but could see her hands moving as if she were doing something.
Feeling puzzled, Chen Lin approached her. As he got closer, he could finally hear her speaking in a strange tone: "Meat, my body, hehehe, come in..."
He called out his girlfriend's name while walking over to turn on the light. The moment the light illuminated the room, his girlfriend abruptly turned her head with such force that he could hear her neck crack. What terrified Chen Lin was that her eyes were bloodshot and looked as if they were dripping blood. Moreover, she held a pair of scissors and was methodically cutting pieces of flesh from her own arm, blood pooling around her on the floor. In front of her lay the discarded Red Bottle once more; several chunks of flesh from her arm had already fallen into it.
This horrified Chen Lin, who quickly rushed her to the hospital. The next day, when his girlfriend regained consciousness, she still had no memory of what had happened the previous night. Upon seeing the wounds on her arm, she screamed in terror.
The girl was certain she did not have sleepwalking disorder; so why had such bizarre events occurred two nights in a row?
Chen Lin instinctively recalled the man who had come to find him at the hotel last time. He dug out the business card and considered calling him but hesitated. By the time he made up his mind, night had fallen again.
What happened on the third night solidified his decision to go to Thailand.
Due to the odd occurrences of the previous two nights, Chen Lin dared not sleep on the third night. His girlfriend's arm was severely injured; doctors recommended hospitalization for observation for two days before discharge. So he sat by the bed, passing time by looking at his phone while searching online for information about spirits in hopes of finding answers to these strange happenings.
Around one or two in the morning, he heard some movement from the hospital bed. Looking up, he saw his girlfriend standing up. At that moment, he was certain it was her, but he also felt that something was off.
Her complexion was very pale, and her eyes and face seemed to droop slightly. Especially when she stared blankly ahead, even with the lights on in the room, Chen Lin felt a chill in his heart.
Then, his girlfriend got off the bed without looking at him. Instead, she walked past him step by step towards the window. Chen Lin felt a surge of panic when he saw her reach out to open the window, climbing up on the ledge as if she was about to jump out. His heart nearly leaped out of his throat. Without thinking, he rushed forward to grab her, trying to pull her back.
However, his girlfriend, who had seemed so weak and frail before, suddenly had an incredible amount of strength that night. In the struggle, Chen Lin almost found himself being pulled toward the window as well. In a state of desperation, he could only shout for help. Hearing the commotion, nurses and doctors rushed in and together managed to pull her down.
His girlfriend struggled fiercely, letting out strange roars: "I want to die! I must die! I'm leaving!"
In the end, the doctor had no choice but to administer two doses of sedatives before she gradually calmed down. Chen Lin hardly slept all night because the doctors needed to figure out what this patient intended to do. It seemed like she was planning to commit suicide? Was there something hidden behind this that required calling the police?
Chen Lin had no idea what his girlfriend wanted and couldn't provide any answers. The next morning, unable to hold back any longer, he called Second Uncle and took his girlfriend out of the hospital while the doctors weren't paying attention, heading straight for Thailand.
After listening to him, Second Uncle's expression darkened. He took out the Red Bottle from a wooden box and looked at it for a moment before asking, "Is her flesh still inside?"
Chen Lin nodded and said, "I didn't dare touch it afterward; I just brought it along."
Second Uncle sneered and said, "You didn’t act when you should have and acted recklessly when you shouldn’t have. Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused in these three days? Twenty thousand Thai Baht isn’t enough; you need at least another hundred thousand or go find someone else."
Chen Lin was taken aback for a moment before his face turned red with anger as he replied, "Twenty thousand is already a lot; don’t be unreasonable!"
