The taxi came to a steady stop in front of the television station building. Xia Qiu paid the fare, took a deep breath, and pushed open the car door to step out.
“Xia Qiu! Over here!”
As soon as she got out of the car, Xia Qiu heard someone calling her name. Following the voice, she saw Sister Zhao standing not far away, waving at her.
“Sister Zhao, good morning!” Xia Qiu jogged over to Sister Zhao and greeted her with a smile.
Sister Zhao looked her up and down and nodded, “Hmm, this outfit is nice today. It really fits your character design.”
Xia Qiu glanced down at her pink dress, her lips twitching slightly. This dress was specially prepared by Sister Zhao, who said it was meant to create a "sweet and cute" image. However, no matter how she looked at it, she felt like she was dressed as a kindergarten child.
“Let’s go; the other guests have already arrived,” Sister Zhao said as she led the way toward the television station building.
Xia Qiu hurried to keep up, silently praying that she wouldn’t run into Lin Xingyu.
However, what she feared came true.
As soon as she entered the studio, Xia Qiu saw Lin Xingyu surrounded by a group of staff members, discussing something with the director.
Today, Lin Xingyu was wearing a simple yet elegant white suit. Her long black hair fell casually over her shoulders, and her exquisite makeup highlighted her flawless fair skin, giving her an air of cold nobility.
Noticing Xia Qiu's arrival, Lin Xingyu slightly turned her head and cast a glance in her direction.
That gaze was indifferent and distant, as if she were looking at a stranger.
Xia Qiu's heart sank; she quickly lowered her head and pretended not to see.
“Xing Yu, this is Xia Qiu, your partner for this program,” the director noted Xia Qiu and introduced her with a smile.
"I know." Lin Xingyu replied lightly, but her gaze did not linger on Xia Qiu. She turned to the director and said, "I'm ready on my end; we can start."
The director nodded, signaling the crew to prepare for filming.
Xia Qiu stood to the side, watching Lin Xingyu's back, feeling a mix of emotions.
She knew that Lin Xingyu was still angry with her.
But what could she do?
She didn't want to target Lin Xingyu during the show, but she had her own reasons.
"Welcome, guests, to 'Heartbeat Signal'!" The director's voice pulled Xia Qiu back to reality.
She lifted her head, looked at the camera, and forced a sweet smile.
No matter what, the show had to go on.
What she needed to do was to play her role well and not cause any trouble for Lin Xingyu.
On the first day of filming, the focus was primarily on interaction and getting to know each other among the guests.
According to the production team's arrangement, Xia Qiu and Lin Xingyu were placed in the same group to complete a series of tasks.
The first task was for the two of them to collaborate on preparing a dish.
The production team had provided them with a variety of ingredients and kitchen tools, but they only had half an hour.
"Xing Yu, what dish do you want to make?" Xia Qiu asked Lin Xingyu proactively.
Lin Xingyu glanced at her and replied coolly, "Anything."
Xia Qiu: "......"
How was she supposed to respond to that?
"Well... how about we make sweet and sour ribs?" Xia Qiu said, forcing herself to suggest something.
"Sure," Lin Xingyu replied succinctly.
Xia Qiu began washing and chopping the vegetables, while Lin Xingyu stood by, showing no intention of helping.
Xia Qiu stole a glance at her and noticed her calm demeanor, wondering what was on her mind.
"Sister Xingyu, do you want to give it a try?" Xia Qiu offered the chopped ribs to Lin Xingyu.
"No thanks, you go ahead," Lin Xingyu declined her offer.
Xia Qiu: "......"
Fine, if you won't help, I'll do it myself.
She took a deep breath and continued to work diligently.
However, just then, an unexpected incident occurred.
