Li Xiaolu sat in the hospital room, her left leg wrapped in a bandage and cast. She lay alone on the hospital bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. Just then, Zhang Lin rushed in.
Seeing Li Xiaolu, she sighed with relief, "Thank goodness you're okay."
Li Xiaolu looked at her with a pitiful expression, "Linlin, it hurts so much."
Zhang Lin quickly approached her, "Don't move around. The doctor said that although your bones aren't broken, it's still serious. You need to rest well."
Li Xiaolu pouted, "Okay."
Zhang Lin looked at her, "How could you be so careless?"
Li Xiaolu sighed, "I didn't expect that car to come rushing at me."
Zhang Lin frowned, "That driver must be really careless to hit someone on such a wide road."
Li Xiaolu smiled helplessly, "Forget it; I just want to recover quickly now."
Zhang Lin nodded, "Don't worry; you'll definitely recover soon."
Li Xiaolu looked at Zhang Lin and asked, "You didn't tell my parents about me being hospitalized, right?"
Zhang Lin shook her head, "No, I know you don't want them to worry, so I didn't say anything."
Li Xiaolu breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Linlin."
Zhang Lin smiled, "There's no need to be polite with me, but..." She paused for a moment. "I think you should tell Jijun."
Li Xiaolu blinked, "I... I haven't told him."
Zhang Lin was surprised. "Why not tell him?"
Li Xiaolu bit her lip, "I'm... I'm afraid he'll worry."
Zhang Lin sighed, "You are just too considerate." She thought for a moment and added, "I really think you should tell him; after all, he is your boyfriend and..."
She paused for a moment and said, "You're injured now; someone has to take care of you, right?"
Li Xiaolu hesitated and replied, "I... I can hire a caregiver."
Zhang Lin shot her a glance and said, "Do you have money to burn?"
Li Xiaolu remained silent.
Zhang Lin continued, "Besides, a caregiver can't take care of you as well as your boyfriend can."
Li Xiaolu bit her lip and didn't say anything.
Zhang Lin looked at her and asked, "Lulu, you've been with Jijun for a while now. What do you think of him?"
Li Xiaolu thought for a moment and said, "He's great; very gentle and considerate."
Zhang Lin blinked, "Then just tell him to come take care of you."
Li Xiaolu hesitated, "But..."
Zhang Lin interrupted her, "No 'buts.' Just tell him. If he dares not to come, I'll help you beat him up."
Li Xiaolu laughed at her words, "Okay, I'll tell him."
Zhang Lin nodded in satisfaction, "That's more like it."
...
Li Xiaolu sent a message to Jijun, informing him that she had been in a car accident and was now in the hospital.
Jijun immediately called her, "You were in a car accident?"
Li Xiaolu nodded, "Yeah."
Jijun frowned and asked, "Are you seriously hurt?"
Li Xiaolu smiled and replied, "It's nothing serious; just some superficial injuries. A few days of rest will do."
Jijun asked again, "Which hospital are you in? I'll come see you."
Li Xiaolu said, "Third Hospital."
Jijun responded, "I'll be there soon."
After hanging up the phone, Li Xiaolu looked out the window with a slight smile on her lips.
Her heart felt sweet, as if coated in honey.
Twenty minutes later, Jijun arrived at the hospital. He walked into the ward and saw Li Xiaolu's left leg, frowning slightly. "Does it hurt?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head. "It doesn't hurt anymore."
Jijun approached the bedside and reached out to touch her forehead. "How did this happen?"
Li Xiaolu recounted the events to him.
After listening, Jijun nodded slightly. "Hmm, be more careful when crossing the street in the future."
Li Xiaolu obediently nodded. "I understand."
Jijun looked at her. "Where are you staying now?"
Li Xiaolu replied, "I live in an apartment next to the school."
Jijun nodded slightly. "Then you should move to my place for the next few days. I'll take care of you."
Li Xiaolu was taken aback. "Ah?"
Jijun looked at her. "Is that inconvenient?"
Li Xiaolu quickly shook her head. "No, it's just..."
Jijun raised an eyebrow. "Just what?"
Li Xiaolu's cheeks flushed slightly. "It's just... does this mean we're living together?"
Jijun smiled playfully. "Do you mind?"
Li Xiaolu shook her head. "I don't mind, it's just..."
Jijun interrupted her. "Since you don't mind, then it's settled."
Li Xiaolu's cheeks turned even redder. "Okay."
