The next morning, when Li Xiaolu woke up, she looked at Jijun, who was still asleep beside her, and a smile crept onto her lips.
She gently sat up, stretched, and then carefully lifted the blanket before getting out of bed.
Walking over to the window, she pulled back the curtains and gazed at the scenery outside.
The morning sunlight streamed in, warming her skin and creating a cozy feeling.
As Li Xiaolu admired the view, her smile widened.
She turned around to look at the still-sleeping Jijun, and her smile deepened.
Approaching the bedside, she bent down and softly kissed Jijun's forehead before turning to leave the room.
In the living room, she switched on the television to watch the morning news.
Just then, the doorbell rang unexpectedly.
Li Xiaolu stood up and walked to the door, opening it to find a delivery person standing there.
"Hello, I have a package for you," the delivery person said with a smile as they looked at Li Xiaolu.
Li Xiaolu paused for a moment; she hadn’t ordered anything recently, so why was there a package?
"Is it for me?" Li Xiaolu asked in confusion.
"Yes, please sign for it," the delivery person replied cheerfully.
After hesitating briefly, Li Xiaolu reached out, took the pen from the delivery person's hand, and signed for the package.
She carried the package into the living room, set it down, and then resumed watching the news on TV.
Although she was watching the news, her mind was elsewhere; she was curious about what was inside the package.
Turning her head towards the package resting on the coffee table, she reached out and slowly opened it.
Inside the box was a gift box.
Li Xiaolu looked at the gift box, feeling a wave of confusion. She reached out and slowly opened it. Inside lay a necklace. The pendant was a lotus flower, with a diamond set in the center, sparkling brightly.
Li Xiaolu gazed at the necklace, her heart filled with surprise. It was truly beautiful. Unable to resist, she picked it up and held it in her palm, examining it closely.
"Do you like it?" Jijun's voice suddenly broke the silence.
Li Xiaolu looked up to see Jijun standing at the bedroom door. A smile crept onto her lips as she replied, "I do."
Seeing the smile on her face filled Jijun with satisfaction. He stepped forward, took the necklace from Li Xiaolu's hand, and moved behind her to fasten it around her neck.
Li Xiaolu lowered her head to admire the necklace resting on her chest, her smile growing even brighter. Jijun watched her expression, feeling a sense of fulfillment in his heart. He bent down and gently kissed her cheek, softly saying, "It's a gift."
Li Xiaolu looked at him, her smile widening. She reached out, wrapped her arms around Jijun's neck, tilted her head back, and kissed his lips before saying with a laugh, "Thank you, Jijun."
Jijun gazed at her smiling face, his heart softening. He reached out and gently stroked Li Xiaolu's hair, tenderly saying, "Silly girl, why be so polite with me?"
Li Xiaolu looked at him, her smile even more radiant. She felt a rush of sweetness as she gazed at Jijun. She truly felt very happy and was filled with gratitude towards him.
She was grateful for his companionship by her side.
She was grateful for the love he gave her.
She was grateful for everything he provided her.
Li Xiaolu had a deep sleep, and when she woke up again, it was already dark outside.
Looking out at the pitch-black night, she suddenly remembered something and sat up abruptly in bed, glancing to her side.
Jijun was not there.
