“Empowerment?!” I looked at the familiar figure in disbelief. How could he be here?
Empowerment did not answer my question. He stared coldly at Chen Mo and said slowly, “Let her go!”
Chen Mo was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter. “I thought it was someone important, but it's just you, the traitor! What, do you want to play the hero? You should know your own strength!”
“My business is none of your concern!” Empowerment retorted coldly, his tone devoid of warmth.
“Hah, still so stubborn! Do you think you're still the high and mighty Captain Fu? You're just my dog now; I tell you to bite someone, and you have to bite!” Chen Mo scoffed disdainfully, his eyes filled with contempt. “I advise you not to meddle in affairs that don't concern you, or else…”
“Or else what?” Empowerment met Chen Mo's gaze fearlessly, his eyes sharp as blades.
“Or else I'll send you both to hell!” Chen Mo gritted his teeth, tightening his grip on the dagger.
“Then let's see you try!” Empowerment growled, his figure flashing forward like an arrow released from a bow towards Chen Mo.
Clearly caught off guard by Empowerment's sudden move, Chen Mo hurriedly raised his dagger to defend himself but was kicked down to the ground by Empowerment.
Without missing a beat, Empowerment stepped forward and grabbed Chen Mo by the throat, pressing him firmly against the ground.
“Cough cough…” Chen Mo struggled to breathe, his face turning red as he fought desperately but to no avail.
“Empowerment… you… you dare…” Chen Mo managed to spit out a few words with great difficulty, his eyes filled with fear and despair.
"What am I afraid of?!" Empowerment coldly stared at Chen Mo, her eyes filled with anger and disdain. "Do you think I don't know about the things you've done? Do you think you can still deceive everyone?!"
"You... you know everything?" Chen Mo's pupils constricted sharply, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes.
"That's right, I know everything!" Empowerment gritted her teeth and said, "You sacrificed your wife to take the blame and go to prison for your own benefit. You even cheated on her with other women..."
"Shut up! Just shut up!" Chen Mo shouted, interrupting Empowerment. He didn't want to hear any more because he knew that what she said was true.
I stood by, watching this scene unfold, feeling a mix of emotions. I never expected Empowerment would turn against Chen Mo for me.
"Empowerment, let him go," I said softly as I walked over to her.
Empowerment glanced at me, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes. She fell silent for a moment but ultimately released Chen Mo.
Chen Mo clumsily got up from the ground, glaring at me and Empowerment with malice before turning to flee.
"Want to leave? It's not that easy!" I reacted quickly, grabbing Chen Mo's arm and twisting it forcefully, pinning his hands behind his back and pushing him down to the ground.
"Ah!" Chen Mo let out a scream as the dagger in his hand fell to the ground.
"You..." Chen Mo looked at me in terror, disbelief filling his eyes. "How... how could you..."
"How could I have such strength, right?" I coldly stared at him, my eyes filled with anger and disdain. "Do you think I'm still that weak Lin Shuangshuang from before? Let me tell you, I'm no longer that foolish woman who could be manipulated by you!"
"What do you want to do?!" Chen Mo shouted in panic, struggling to get up, but I pressed him firmly to the ground.
"What do I want to do? That question should be directed at you!" I glared at him, gritting my teeth as I questioned, "Chen Mo, you despicable man, I spent three years in prison for you—three years! Do you know how I endured those three years?!"
My voice trembled with emotion, and tears welled up in my eyes, but I held them back. I had cried all my tears; all I wanted now was to seek justice for myself!
"Shuangshuang, let me explain; things are not as you think..." Chen Mo stammered in a flustered manner, his gaze flickering as he dared not meet my eyes.
