I followed behind my father, my heart racing. Suddenly, he slipped and fell. Seizing the opportunity, I rushed over and tied his legs with a rope. My father was taken aback and struggled to get up. I took out a shard of glass from my pocket and cut the rope. I picked up the rope and tightened it around his neck, pulling hard. He struggled desperately, his face turning red from the effort. I held on tightly, not daring to loosen my grip at all. My father's eyes widened more and more, and his face gradually turned purple. He reached out his hand, trying to grab my face. I released my grip and took a step back. He fell to the ground, clutching his throat and coughing. He gasped for air, pointing at me, wanting to say something but unable to speak. I looked at him coldly. He pointed at me, his voice hoarse: "You... you beast..." I stared at him expressionlessly: "Old beast, you forced me into this." My father lay on the ground, groaning in pain. I dragged him to the riverbank. I walked out of the alley and stood on the road. After just a few steps, I heard a muffled sound behind me. Turning around, I saw a car stopped at the alley entrance with its headlights flashing. The driver rushed out in panic, shouting, "Help! Someone has jumped into the river!" I walked over to the car and leaned in to look inside. 0

I saw my father's head collide with the stone pier of the riverbed, blood pouring from his scalp. His eyes were wide open, pupils dilated, and his gaze was vacant. I knew he was dead. 0

I stood there quietly, watching him. Inside, I felt neither sadness nor joy. I had no feelings at all. I was alone, wandering outside. I didn't know where to go. I just wanted to find Sister. 0

I drifted around, enduring hardships, and finally arrived in New City. After inquiring for a long time in New City, I finally found Sister. She sighed and said, "He deserved to die." 0

I took out my wallet, which contained the money I had saved up. I handed it to Sister and said, "Sister, let's go." 0

Sister hesitated for a moment and shook her head. 0

I asked, "Why?" 0

Sister replied, "I have to wait for him." 0

"Wait for whom?" 0

"My employer." 0

I looked at Sister in surprise and asked, "Who is your employer?" 0

Sister was silent for a moment before whispering, "An officer." 0

I widened my eyes in disbelief. "An officer?" 0

Sister nodded. 0

"Let me be honest with you," my sister said after a moment of hesitation. She told me that she was sold to the chairman of Jinchang Group by our father, but the chairman did not want her. Instead, he gave her to his friend, a retired military officer named Jin Ming. 0

Jin Ming brought my sister home and made her his personal assistant. She worked for Jin Ming for three years without receiving a single penny or any official title. She was like a servant to him, taking care of his daily needs. 0

I asked my sister, "Why do you still follow him?" She lowered her head and softly replied, "He is my savior." 0

I was puzzled and asked, "Savior?" She nodded. 0

My sister had been sold to the chairman by our father, who then passed her on to Jin Ming. When Jin Ming brought her home, she was terrified and worried that he might take advantage of her. However, Jin Ming did not harm her; instead, he treated her very well. 0

Jin Ming asked my sister, "Would you like to stay with me?" She quickly nodded in agreement. He assured her, "I will not treat you poorly." 0

Jin Ming kept his promise; he truly did not mistreat my sister. He gave her a lot of money and taught her how to read and write. He told her, "You are not an ordinary girl; you should have your own life." 0

My sister was grateful to him and fell in love with him. Jin Ming also fell in love with my sister and said to her, "Wait for me for a while; once I finish some matters, I will come back and marry you." My sister agreed. 0
