This power indeed feels familiar, but I can't quite figure out where it comes from. Du Ming took my hand, pulling me back to reality from my thoughts. "Don't worry, we'll find the answer," he said firmly, injecting me with a dose of confidence. 0

"You're right; we will definitely find the answer." I took a deep breath, suppressing my unease, and turned to Du Ming with a confident smile. 0

"By the way, there's a charity dinner tonight. Let's go together," Du Ming suddenly said. 0

I was taken aback. Since we got married, Du Ming rarely attended such social events, let alone invite me along. 0

"What made you want to attend this kind of event all of a sudden?" I teased. 0

"What's wrong? Don't you want to accompany me?" Du Ming raised an eyebrow, a hint of playfulness in his eyes. 0

"Of course I do; it would be my honor." I smiled and linked my arm with his, temporarily setting aside my confusion. 0

The dinner was held at a luxurious hotel, filled with the fragrance of fine clothing and the clinking of glasses as celebrities from various fields gathered together. As soon as Du Ming and I appeared, we attracted everyone's attention. He wore a black suit, standing tall with an innate air of nobility; I wore a champagne-colored gown that was elegant and graceful, surprisingly complementing him well. 0

"Lingxi, long time no see!" My friend Bai Wei approached me with a glass in hand. She looked stunning in her bright red dress, catching everyone's eye. 0

"Wai Wei, you look beautiful today!" I smiled and clinked glasses with her. 0

"You don't look bad either! Standing next to Master Du is truly a match made in heaven!" Bai Wei teased, her gaze darting between me and Du Ming. 0

Du Ming merely nodded slightly at her as a greeting. Bai Wei didn't mind and leaned closer to whisper in my ear, "So, what do you think? I told you that you two are really well-matched!" 0

My cheeks flushed slightly. Just as I was about to respond, I suddenly felt a burning gaze on me. Instinctively, I looked up and met Du Ming's deep eyes. His gaze seemed to hold countless unspoken words, momentarily leaving me dazed. 0

Seeing this, Bai Wei smirked mischievously and intentionally shifted the conversation to other topics, leaving space for me and Du Ming. In the banquet hall filled with laughter and chatter, I navigated through the crowd while holding onto Du Ming's arm with ease. He spoke little but occasionally turned his head to subtly indicate what I should say or do. I had to admit that although he rarely participated in such occasions, he handled social interactions adeptly without making me feel awkward. 0

Once the dinner officially began, Du Ming and I were predictably seated at the main table. Looking around, most of the attendees were business elites whom I mostly didn't know and couldn't engage with; I simply smiled lightly while occasionally sipping from my glass of champagne. 0

"What's wrong? Not used to this kind of occasion?" Du Ming's voice reached my ear softly, carrying a hint of warmth. 0

"It's not that I'm not used to it; it's just a bit boring," I replied as I set down my glass and turned to him. "What about you? You seem somewhat disinterested too." 0

Du Ming chuckled lightly. "I'm usually not interested in these business social events. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have come." 0

I felt a stir in my heart but maintained an indifferent facade. "Master Du is getting better at sweet-talking; I almost believed you." 0

"What I'm saying is all sincere." Du Ming's expression turned serious as he gazed intently at me, causing my heart to flutter slightly. 0

I quickly avoided his gaze and picked up the menu on the table, trying to sound casual as I said, "I wonder how the food here is; is there anything you'd like to eat?" 0

Du Ming didn't call out my deliberate avoidance but followed along with my words. "I'm not picky about food; you can order whatever you like." 0

I casually selected a few dishes and handed the menu to a nearby waiter. 0

"What do you usually like to do?" Du Ming suddenly asked. 0

"Me? Besides work, I don't have any special hobbies. Occasionally, I read books, listen to music, or go shopping with friends," I replied honestly. "What about you? As the president of the Du Group, you must have many ways to unwind." 0

"I spend most of my time dealing with company matters and rarely have time for myself," Du Ming paused and then added, "But I'm actually quite interested in your life right now." 0

His words carried a deeper meaning, and for a moment, I didn't know how to respond. 0

As the dinner drew to a close amidst the clinking of glasses, Du Ming gentlemanly offered to drive me home. I initially wanted to decline since I had driven myself, but seeing his insistence, I said nothing further. 0

On the way, we chatted casually, and the atmosphere was much more relaxed than at the dinner. Du Ming was no longer the aloof president of the Du Group but seemed more like an ordinary friend who cared. 0

The car stopped downstairs at my apartment. Just as I was about to unbuckle my seatbelt, Du Ming said, "It's still early; let me take you somewhere." 0

I felt a mix of curiosity and hesitation. After all, it was late at night, and it wasn't exactly convenient for a man and a woman to be alone together. 0

Seemingly reading my thoughts, Du Ming added, "Don't worry; it's not that kind of place. It's very quiet there and suitable for walking and chatting." 0

His confident tone persuaded me, and I nodded in agreement. 0

The car started again and left the streets I was familiar with. Throughout the ride, I speculated about where Du Ming was taking me, but he remained tight-lipped, only smiling mysteriously and saying, "You'll know when we get there." 0

After about half an hour, the car stopped at the entrance of a secluded private garden. I looked at Du Ming in surprise, but he merely smiled lightly and got out first to open the door for me. 0

"This is a property owned by a friend of mine; very few people come here," Du Ming said as he led me into the garden. 0

The moonlight poured down like silver, casting a gentle glow on everything. The fragrance of flowers swayed softly in the night breeze; everything felt tranquil and beautiful. I couldn't help but take a deep breath and exclaimed, "This place is truly beautiful." 0

"I'm glad you like it," Du Ming's voice came softly beside me, carrying a hint of subtle warmth. 0

I turned my head and met his deep gaze; my heart inexplicably skipped a beat. Under the moonlight, his facial features appeared even more defined. Those eyes that always held a hint of coldness seemed filled with starlight at this moment, gentle enough to captivate anyone. 0

Feeling somewhat uneasy, I shifted my gaze away only to realize that we had unknowingly walked to a pavilion adorned with blooming Wisteria. 0
