The phone call was like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the hope we had that we could finally catch our breath. After the mysterious organization's leader left, Du Ming and I immediately began investigating the strange call.
"It's an overseas number; we can't trace it," Du Ming said, his brow furrowed as his long fingers flew across the keyboard, trying to catch any clue from the virtual world.
"It seems we've really stirred up a hornet's nest this time," I said, rubbing my temples as a wave of fatigue washed over me.
"But we cannot back down," Du Ming grasped my hand, his gaze resolute. "Lingxi, we've come this far; we can only move forward."
I nodded; his determination gave me strength. We began to delve deeper into the background of the mysterious organization, and finally, in an ancient document, we discovered a shocking clue. This mysterious organization had intricate ties to an ancient sect from the Cultivation World that had long since vanished—"Yinming Valley."
"Yinming Valley? I remember my master once said it was a sect known for practicing Evil Arts, which was later eradicated by Righteous People due to its numerous misdeeds," I said as I flipped through the document, my brow furrowing.
"It seems this sect hasn't completely disappeared; they've been secretly gathering strength, waiting for a chance to make a comeback," Du Ming's eyes glinted with cold light. "We must stop them!"
To combat this powerful evil force, Du Ming and I decided to enter seclusion and enhance our cultivation. Du Ming was exceptionally gifted and made rapid progress in his training, while I, despite my proficiency in medicine, always felt lost when it came to cultivation.
"Lingxi, don't rush it; persistence is key in cultivation," Du Ming said when he saw I was feeling discouraged. He held my hand and slowly transferred pure spiritual energy into my body. "Feel it deeply and gradually guide the energy within you."
I closed my eyes and tried to sense that warm and powerful force. Gradually, I felt as if I entered a wondrous state where the surrounding spiritual energy became vibrant and rushed into my body eagerly.
Thus, we secluded ourselves in the mountains for several months. During this time, we also visited several reclusive cultivation seniors who provided us with guidance. My cultivation advanced rapidly; I became proficient in various celestial techniques while Du Ming broke through his bottleneck and elevated his strength further.
After emerging from seclusion, we didn't rush to seek revenge on the mysterious organization but instead began secretly investigating their whereabouts. Hard work pays off; on a dark and windy night, we unexpectedly discovered a concealed valley heavily guarded with people dressed in black coming and going. Clearly, this was an important stronghold of the mysterious organization.
"Lingxi, let's sneak in and take a look," Du Ming's eyes sparkled with excitement. Without hesitation, I nodded. We set up a concealment formation and quietly infiltrated the valley.
The valley was eerily silent except for the occasional hoot of a Night Owl, adding to its ominous atmosphere. Du Ming and I carefully navigated through the trees, trying not to make any noise.
"Be careful!" Du Ming suddenly pulled me behind a sturdy tree. Before I could react, I saw a shadow flash past where we had just been standing.
"That's a lookout," Du Ming whispered. "It seems this place is more fortified than we imagined."
We avoided patrolling figures in black and finally arrived at a more open area. In the center stood an ancient altar carved with bizarre patterns that emitted a chilling aura.
"What is this place?" I couldn't help but ask as unease surged within me.
"I don't know, but it's definitely not a good place," Du Ming said gravely. "Let's be cautious."
We circled around the altar and came upon an underground entrance guarded by two black-clad individuals who appeared to possess considerable strength.
"Leave this to me," Du Ming whispered. In an instant, he appeared before the two guards and knocked them out before they could react.
We entered the underground passage and found it surprisingly expansive. A long corridor lined with dim lights led to a massive stone door covered in ancient runes that radiated powerful waves of spiritual energy.
"There must be some secrets hidden inside," I said, filled with curiosity.
Du Ming nodded, his hands forming seals as a beam of golden light struck the stone door. The door slowly opened, and an ancient, malevolent aura rushed out to greet us.
As we stepped through the stone door, we discovered a massive underground palace. In the center of the palace stood a gigantic Bronze Coffin, covered in eerie runes that emitted a chilling presence.
"What is this?" I asked, a sense of unease creeping into my heart.
Du Ming remained silent as he approached the coffin, carefully examining the runes on its surface.
"It’s a seal," Du Ming said gravely. "This coffin contains an extremely powerful entity."
At that moment, I noticed a stone tablet beside the coffin inscribed with several lines of small text:
"I am Demon God Chi You. The day I break free from my seal will be the day calamity descends upon the world!"
My heart sank, and a chill ran from my feet straight to the top of my head.
"This is bad! They want to resurrect Demon God Chi You!" I exclaimed.
"We must stop them!" A fierce light flashed in Du Ming's eyes. "Otherwise, the consequences will be unimaginable!"
We exchanged glances, both seeing determination reflected in each other's eyes. Time was of the essence; we had to quickly inform everyone in the Cultivation World to prevent this catastrophe from occurring!
But could we really stop it? How could we confront such a powerful evil force?
