"I'm fine." I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "The truth will eventually come to light; I believe that the innocent will clear their names." 0

Du Ming pulled me into his embrace, resting his chin on the top of my head, his voice low and somber. "I'm sorry. It's all my fault for letting you suffer." 0

"How can this be your fault? You're a victim too." I gently patted his back, offering comfort. "I believe in you and in myself. We will get through this together." 0

Du Ming's father, my father-in-law, rushed to our home as soon as he learned about the situation. His face was dark, and he sat silently on the sofa, exuding a powerful sense of pressure. I knew he was angry, disappointed, and worried. 0

"Dad..." I was about to explain when he silenced me with a sharp glare. 0

"I know everything," he said in a deep, authoritative voice. "I will handle this matter; you both don't need to worry about it." 0

Du Ming wanted to argue but I held him back. I knew that saying anything now would be pointless; we needed to uncover the truth quickly to quell this storm. 0

"Vivi, can you help me find out who's spreading these rumors?" I called my best friend Bai Wei. 0

"Don't worry; I'm already looking into it," Bai Wei replied calmly as always. "I will definitely help you find the mastermind behind this!" 0

After hanging up, I looked at Du Ming with determination in my eyes. "We can't just sit back and wait; we must take the initiative!" 0

Du Ming has always been proactive. As soon as I finished speaking, he began contacting people at his company to arrange an investigation. Watching him move decisively filled me with warmth; with him around, I felt secure. 0

Du Ming's company is large and has complex internal relationships, making it difficult to identify the mastermind behind this scheme. He left early and returned late every day, working tirelessly. Although I worried about his health, I knew there was little I could do to help; all I could do was prepare three meals a day for him, hoping to provide some warmth of home. 0

One afternoon, while organizing Du Ming's documents in the study, I accidentally discovered a file forgotten in the corner. Curious, I opened it and found records of recent significant financial transactions related to Du Ming's company. Although I had no knowledge of business matters, my intuition prompted me to read through it carefully. 0

As I scanned the pages, I suddenly noticed something strange. One transaction involved a shell company under Du Ming's name! I had heard of this company before; it was supposedly established solely for tax evasion and had no actual business operations. So why was such a large sum of money flowing into this company? 0

A sense of foreboding rose within me. Could it be that this company was actually... I dared not think further and quickly took out my phone to call Bai Wei. 0

"Vivi, please check on a company called 'XX Investment' under Du Ming's name and see if there are any unusual financial movements recently..." 0

Bai Wei is highly efficient; it wasn't long before she replied that 'XX Investment' indeed had a significant amount of money flowing into an overseas account recently, and the source of these funds was very suspicious. 0

"Lingxi, I suspect there might be something wrong with this company; you need to be careful!" Bai Wei warned gravely. 0

I took a deep breath and forced myself to stay calm. It seemed my suspicions were correct; this company was indeed an important stronghold for a mysterious organization! 0

Clutching the file tightly in my hands, anger surged within me. Mysterious organization, since you dare to harm me and Du Ming, don't blame me for being ruthless! I hid the document away and decided not to alert anyone yet. Du Ming was already overwhelmed enough; I didn't want to add to his burden. I needed solid evidence before taking down the mysterious organization. 0

I shared my findings with Bai Wei and together we devised a plan. Using her connections, Bai Wei helped me contact an experienced expert in finance who carefully analyzed 'XX Investment's' financial activities and discovered that the funds ultimately flowed into an organization involved in money laundering overseas. 0

"Lingxi, it seems your suspicions were right; this company does have issues," Bai Wei said seriously. "However, we still lack sufficient evidence to bring them to justice." 0

I knew that taking down the mysterious organization required more than just us few people; I needed a stronger ally—someone who could stand against them. 0

"Vivi, what do you think would happen if I told Du Ming about this?" I asked hesitantly. 0

“Lingxi, I know you’re worried about Du Ming’s safety, but this matter is serious. You must tell him,” Bai Wei said sternly. “Only he has the ability to stand against the mysterious organization.” 0

I took a deep breath and made up my mind. It was time to let Du Ming know everything. That evening, when Du Ming returned home, I told him about XX Investment. 0

“What did you say?” Du Ming suddenly stood up, shock and anger filling his eyes. “That company actually…” 0

I held his hand and said softly, “Du Ming, I know you’re angry, but now is not the time for rash actions. We need to stay calm and find a way to solve this problem.” 0

Du Ming took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. “Lingxi, thank you for telling me this. I will handle it.” 0

“What are you going to do?” I asked with concern. 0

A cold smile crept onto Du Ming’s lips. “Since they want to play, then I’ll play with them until the end.” 0

I knew that Du Ming was ready for a fight. 0
