Things developed as I expected. director Zhang was indeed looking for a reason to deal with me. Since that was the case, I decided to give him a reason.
During an important project bidding meeting, I deliberately displayed an attitude of "giving up," hinting that I could no longer bear the project due to pressure from both inside and outside the company. I knew that director Zhang had been searching for an opportunity, a chance to completely take me down. And now, I was going to create that opportunity for him—one that he could not refuse.
After seeing my performance, director Zhang could not hold back any longer. He privately contacted my clients, trying to persuade them to abandon our collaboration and instead work with him. He believed this was a rare opportunity, not only to seize my resources but also to increase his weight within the company. The conditions he proposed were very generous; he even promised to provide better services and more favorable prices. In his view, such conditions would be enough to sway anyone.
However, he did not know that I had already reached a consensus with the clients and had set a "trap" in the contract specifically targeting director Zhang's violations. This trap was like a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment and shatter director Zhang into pieces.
The bidding meeting took place as scheduled, and I attended alongside director Zhang. The atmosphere in the venue was tense and oppressive. The expressions of all attendees were serious and grave as they focused on the numbers on the big screen, as if those numbers determined their fate. I noticed a sense of eagerness and greed in director Zhang's eyes. He seemed to see the dawn of victory, envisioning me being trampled underfoot by him.
Yet, he did not realize that this entire situation was a carefully orchestrated scheme of mine. As the final stage of the bidding meeting approached, director Zhang finally could not sit still any longer. He began privately reaching out to my clients again, attempting to persuade them to abandon our collaboration in favor of working with him. He believed this was a rare opportunity that would allow him to seize my resources and enhance his standing within the company. The conditions he offered were very tempting; he even promised better services and lower prices.
In his view, such conditions would be enough to impress anyone. However, he did not know that I had already reached an agreement with the client in advance and signed a contract. This contract included clauses that restricted his unauthorized actions. As soon as he signed a new contract with the client, it would be equivalent to jumping into the trap I had set for him.
Soon, the company received reports about director Zhang's violations and immediately launched an investigation. The results were shocking. director Zhang had privately engaged in transactions with clients without the company's permission, violating company regulations. All of this was due to the trap I had laid.
I knew that director Zhang was very ambitious; he had always wanted to place his own trusted people within the company to solidify his position. So, I used this to set a trap for him. I understood that dealing with someone like director Zhang required thorough preparation. I decided to leverage his ambition by presenting him with a bait he could not refuse, then wait for the right moment to take him down.
Instead of directly countering him, I planned to use his own tactics against him, luring director Zhang into my trap. Since director Zhang wanted to use public opinion to force me out of the company, I would return the favor by using public opinion to bring him down.
I first met secretly with several mid-level managers who had grievances against director Zhang to discuss how to deal with him. At the same time, I was also looking for opportunities to gather evidence of director Zhang's embezzlement and other misconduct. This evidence would become an important weapon against him.
Wang came to my desk once again, looking anxious. "Sister Liu, what are you planning to do now? The rumors in the company are getting worse; if this continues, you really will be forced out."
I smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, I have my ways. Trust me; I won't be easily defeated." Although Wang still looked somewhat worried, seeing my confidence eased his concerns a bit.
"Okay, Sister Liu, I believe in you. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know." I nodded, feeling a warmth in my heart.
I know that no matter when, there are people willing to help me, and I am not fighting alone.
