Wang Yueming escorted Li Ruyue downstairs. He released her hand and smiled, saying, "Go on up."
Li Ruyue stared at him for a moment, then suddenly stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss on the chin.
Wang Yueming was taken aback.
Li Ruyue blinked and asked, "Why aren't you reacting?"
Wang Yueming snapped back to reality and replied helplessly, "What reaction do you expect from me?"
Li Ruyue frowned and said, "Aren't you supposed to..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Wang Yueming suddenly bent down and kissed her lips.
Li Ruyue's heart raced, and her cheeks flushed.
After a moment, Wang Yueming released her.
Li Ruyue covered her lips and glared at him.
He looked innocent and said, "Didn't you just ask me to kiss you?"
Li Ruyue blushed and replied, "When did I ever ask you to kiss me?"
Wang Yueming blinked and said, "You kissed me just now; according to the rules of reciprocity, I should kiss you back."
Li Ruyue found herself speechless.
Seeing her silent, Wang Yueming smiled and said, "Go on up; I'll watch you."
Li Ruyue nodded and turned to leave.
He watched her silhouette disappear at the door before turning to walk toward the entrance of the community.
He exited the community, hailed a taxi, and returned to his apartment.
As soon as he stepped inside, his phone rang.
He took out his phone and answered the call.
The voice of Li Ruyue came through: "Are you home?"
Wang Yueming replied, "..."
He smiled and said, "Yeah, just got here."
Li Ruyue asked, "What are you doing now?"
Wang Yueming replied, "..."
He changed into slippers, walked over to the sofa, and sat down, saying, "Thinking about you."
Li Ruyue responded, "..."
After a moment of silence, she softly said, "I miss you too."
Wang Yueming replied, "..."
He chuckled and asked, "Do you miss me?"
Li Ruyue paused and countered, "What about you?"
Wang Yueming said seriously, "I miss you very much."
Li Ruyue laughed at his response.
Wang Yueming asked, "When is your birthday?"
Li Ruyue questioned, "Why do you want to know that?"
He replied mysteriously, "I have a surprise for you."
Li Ruyue asked curiously, "What surprise?"
He smiled and said, "That's a secret for now."
She pouted and said, "Alright."
The two chatted for a while longer before hanging up the phone.
Wang Yueming placed his phone on the table and got up to walk to the window.
He looked out at the night scenery, and Li Ruyue's smiling face appeared in his mind.
He couldn't help but smile.
He was truly grateful to have met her.

The next day.
Wang Yueming woke up early, finished washing up, and went to the studio.
He was busy in the studio all day until evening when he called Li Ruyue.
The phone rang several times before it connected.
Wang Yueming: "..."
He asked, "What are you doing?"
Li Ruyue: "..."
She replied lazily, "Just woke up."
Wang Yueming: "..."
He laughed and said, "That's perfect; I'm taking you somewhere."
Li Ruyue: "..."
She asked, "Where to?"
Wang Yueming: "..."
He said, "You'll know when you get here."
Li Ruyue: "..."
She replied helplessly, "Alright."
