Lufan noticed that every time A Qi mentioned the Master, he always had a displeased expression, as if there was some kind of grudge between them.
When Lufan brought up this question, A Qi avoided it and was reluctant to answer, only saying that the Master had a grievance with their Seven Kill Tower, which led the entire Seven Kill Tower to look down on him.
Hearing this, Lufan decided not to press further. This clearly complicated old matter involved secrets of two major sects, and it was better for him not to know too much.
At A Qi's insistence, Lufan agreed to keep the three primary medicinal herbs and would ask Uncle Fu and the others when they returned if it was possible to refine them into a Rebirth Pill.
Next, A Qi looked at the other two shelves and became particularly interested in a wooden rack filled with various strange items.
He discovered that most of the items on this wooden rack were related to mechanism techniques and were materials used for making mechanical puppets. They should be leftover materials from the mechanism master who created the three mechanical puppets outside.
For example, those stones were essential for forging the rivets on mechanical puppets, and that piece of wood was actually the Diamond Wood that A Qi had mentioned earlier. Although there weren't many items, they were enough to excite A Qi, who immediately began to study them.
Seeing A Qi so excited, Lufan shook his head and ignored him, turning to walk towards the bookshelf.
As for the weapons, neither of them paid much attention. A Qi already had his own exclusive weapon; although the weapons here were decent, they didn't impress him much.
Lufan, on the other hand, had long determined that his combat style primarily relied on Fist Technique. Weapons were merely optional; one Qing Mang sword was sufficient for him—more would be unnecessary. Moreover, the swords and blades here couldn't compare to his Qing Mang sword.
Arriving at the bookshelf, Lufan browsed through it and found that the books were divided into two parts. One part contained information about the Lord's Mansion, such as tax revenues and internal expenditures.
Lufan also noticed that one of the account books recorded Li Zheng bribing some powerful officials in the Silver Moon Kingdom. It clearly stated how much was bribed to which official in a certain year and month. The large sums involved made Lufan gasp in surprise.
After casually browsing through it, Lufan decided not to read further; this information was of no use to him. He had no interest in the power struggles among the high-ranking officials of the Silver Moon Kingdom.
He quickly shifted his attention to another area, where the books truly deserved his focus—numerous Martial Arts Manuals.
Lufan had always been interested in the system of Martial Arts Techniques in this world, especially the Secret Techniques that were clearly much more powerful than ordinary Martial Arts Techniques. He was eager to know how they compared to the various martial arts he had in mind.
Unfortunately, the library in the academy only contained records of some basic Martial Arts Techniques, merely covering the most fundamental applications of moves without delving into more profound martial arts theories. In terms of power, they were at best comparable to popular martial arts like the Five Tiger Breaking Door Blade, offering little insight.
What Lufan needed was information about Secret Techniques. These special Martial Arts Techniques might help him break free from the shackles of his own body.
In the previous battle, the ten guards clad in black armor used a secret method that could exponentially enhance their physical explosiveness, along with Li Zheng's hammer technique, which was clearly a legendary Secret Technique. If he wasn't mistaken, he should be able to find it here.
Sure enough, with just a glance, Lufan spotted three manuals prominently displayed on a wooden rack, set apart from the others. He immediately reached out and took them down.
The titles of the three manuals were "Killing Body Technique," "Storm Hammer," and "Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique." Lufan flipped through each one briefly and then closed them with a pleased expression.
As he had hoped, these three manuals contained three Secret Technique-level Martial Arts Techniques. Among them, "Killing Body Technique" was the Secret Technique practiced by the black-armored guards; it was an explosive Secret Technique that sacrificed one's own health to temporarily multiply strength several times over, classified as a Seventh Rank Secret Technique.
On the other hand, "Storm Hammer" and "Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique" were Secret Techniques cultivated by Li Zheng. "Storm Hammer" was also a Seventh Rank Secret Technique, while "Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique" was a Fifth Rank Secret Technique, significantly surpassing the other two in level and classified as a Middle Third Rank Secret Technique.
Having acquired three Secret Techniques at once, including one at the Middle Third Rank level, Lufan felt quite excited.
However, he also knew that this was not the time to study Martial Arts Techniques. He had just skimmed through them and found that the knowledge and theories involved in these three Secret Techniques were very profound; even he could not fully grasp their intricacies at once.
At present, both his body and mind were quite fatigued. It would be better for him to return to the academy first and adjust his body to its optimal state before attempting to comprehend the martial arts theories within.
Thus, Lufan tucked the three manuals into his clothes and thought for a moment before heading outside to Li Zheng's bedroom. He found a large wooden box, emptied its contents, and then returned to the secret room to pack all the Martial Arts Manuals, Jade Box, jade vials, and other items from the wooden rack into the box, preparing to take everything back to the academy.
A Qi, however, said he wanted to stay here temporarily to study the three mechanical puppets. Lufan ignored him; after all, this guy was cunning and his true strength might not be any less than Lufan's. Staying here posed no danger at all.
Once outside, Lufan removed the seal from the butler's acupoint and lifted a large wooden box onto his shoulder, leaving the underground chamber.
When he returned to Li Zheng's secret room, Lufan thought for a moment and opened all the drawers and hidden compartments in the bedroom. Sure enough, he discovered a large stash of Gold Notes. He didn't bother counting them and stuffed them into his pocket before heading out without looking back.
Upon reaching the main hall of the lord's mansion, Lufan noticed that many people had gathered there, led by Duanmu Qing and others, who were waiting for him.
It turned out that while Lufan and A Qi were deciphering the mechanisms of the underground chamber, Duanmu Qing and his group had already taken control of the situation. Not only had they subdued the relevant personnel of the lord's mansion, but even the Loose Cultivators lurking outside had been pacified somehow and had mostly dispersed.
However, Lufan paid little attention to this. He was somewhat absent-minded as he exchanged pleasantries; all he wanted was to return to Qingyang Academy to rest and make good use of the resources he had obtained to further enhance his strength.
Duanmu Qing and the others noticed the fatigue on Lufan's face and did not say much. They simply called for a leather bag to be brought over and handed it to Lufan.
When Lufan opened it, he found a sword, a piece of golden soft armor, and some other items—his Azure Mantis Sword, Li Zheng's Heavenly Silkworm Armor, and some belongings from the Fourth Prince.
These were all considered spoils of war for Lufan. Although Duanmu Qing and his group were envious, they dared not covet them. They also noticed the wooden box on Lufan's shoulder but chose to ignore it; it would be unwise to provoke him over such matters.
Lufan did not hold back either; he took hold of the bag and mentioned that A Qi was in the underground chamber, asking them to remember to bring him food. Then he disregarded everything else, leaving behind a mess as he swiftly exited the lord's mansion and headed towards Qingyang Academy.
Thus, with a large box on his right shoulder and a leather bag in his left hand, Lufan completely ignored the envious gazes around him, resembling a bandit returning from a successful raid, fully loaded with spoils.
