Lufan recently found himself in a rather strange state.
It had been more than half a month since Uncle Fu had shared some insights about the Martial Arts Nine Levels of Realm with him. During this time, Uncle Fu had rarely discussed martial arts with Lufan, stating that he had already covered most of what needed to be said. He believed that excessive guidance could lead Lufan to lose his direction, making it harder for him to find his own "momentum."
Cultivation is inherently a personal journey; as the saying goes, a master can only guide you to the door, but you must walk through it yourself. No matter how much others share their insights, those are merely reflections of their experiences. To reach higher realms, one must rely on their own gradual understanding and accumulation.
Experiencing the process groundedly is far more profound than trying to force growth.
Recently, Lufan's teacher had been contemplating the Tao Te Ching. Aside from meals, he rarely made an appearance. However, he mentioned that his understanding had reached a critical moment, just a step away from a breakthrough.
As for what exactly his teacher's insight was, he did not disclose it, and Lufan couldn't guess; his level was still too low to comprehend such advanced concepts.
Due to having no clue about his own "momentum," Lufan began to focus his energy on martial arts training.
Since grasping the Subtle Control Level, Lufan's progress in martial arts could be described as astonishingly rapid.
The most obvious manifestation was that his speed in learning various martial arts had increased significantly; he could now learn techniques at a glance. For some ordinary skills, he could even innovate and elevate them to higher levels.
Even with the Seventy-Two Unique Skills, he faced no difficulties in practice. With just a bit of time invested, he could master the techniques as well as those who had trained for many years.
At first, Lufan was quite excited and approached learning new martial arts with great enthusiasm. After all, being able to understand all martial arts in the world was inherently a cool achievement.
Thus, Lufan rapidly went through the manuals in his mind within just a few days, and throughout this process, he felt no pressure whatsoever.
This left Lufan somewhat astonished; he realized that his memory, comprehension, and deduction abilities had reached an extraordinary level. Remembering things effortlessly had become an easy task for him.
At this moment, Lufan realized that since that breakthrough, he had grasped the key to a higher level of power. After pushing open that door, he had slowly distanced himself from the realm of ordinary people and evolved towards a higher level of existence.
After rummaging through the secrets in his mind, Lufan also discovered that the so-called mastery of martial arts was really just that simple.
In terms of movements and techniques, any martial art was no longer a secret to him. Ultimately, it was merely a way to utilize the body and internal energy. With his current level, he could almost easily perform any martial art.
Of course, this did not mean that his martial arts had reached their peak or that he was invincible. Martial arts are static, while people are dynamic; there are only invincible individuals, not invincible martial arts. In terms of the techniques of each martial art, he had indeed exhausted all possibilities.
With Lufan's current understanding of martial arts, if he wanted to, he could easily create many ordinary martial arts like Luohan Quan.
However, doing so would not be meaningful and would not help improve his strength. Techniques had lost much significance for Lufan.
As martial arts often involve concepts like fist momentum and intent later on, Lufan found himself stuck again.
Regarding strength, ever since he successfully underwent blood transformation and refined True Blood, the transformation of his body through True Blood had been ongoing, with his physical strength gradually increasing.
What he could do was wait until it reached its limit before attempting to break through to the Bone Refinement stage.
Thus, Lufan discovered that in terms of mind, body, and technique, he found himself unable to progress further. In other words, after a period of rapid growth in strength, he had finally reached a bottleneck.
So Lufan realized that apart from tormenting Fatty every day, there was surprisingly little for him to do at the moment.
However, when he sought advice from Uncle Fu on how to break through his bottleneck and surpass his limits, he was met with a round of sarcasm from Uncle Fu.
“Bullshit limits! The so-called limits are mostly just because people are bound by their narrow-minded views and cannot see through the essence any further. They ultimately give themselves a comforting excuse; in reality, they are far from their true limits.
You think your strength has reached a bottleneck? That's only because your understanding of martial arts is still too superficial.
Martial arts require hard practice but even more so require contemplation. Don't just focus on yourself; take some time to go out and experience nature and see the world. You will make different discoveries.”
Uncle Fu's words left Lufan blushing and fleeing in embarrassment.
Afterward, he reflected on what Uncle Fu had said and realized that there was some truth to it; he had indeed been too arrogant. Recently, he had focused solely on improving his personal cultivation while neglecting to observe the world around him. Perhaps this was the reason he felt so limited.
He decided to follow Uncle Fu's advice and stop thinking about how to enhance his own power. Instead, he would take the time to appreciate the natural world, hoping for different insights.
Thus, Lufan embarked on his journey of observation. He wasn't sure how to go about it, so he simply followed his instincts, without any specific goals, observing everything around him.
A flower, a stone, a group of ants, a butterfly—no matter what it was, Lufan found joy in observing it. Sometimes he would remain still for several hours, completely absorbed in his observations.
This behavior alarmed Fatty, who thought Lufan had lost his mind. He hurried to find Uncle Fu. However, after taking a quick look, Uncle Fu reassured Fatty that there was nothing to worry about and told him to relax, which eased Fatty's concerns.
As Lufan continued to observe for a long time, he discovered something intriguing: with his remarkable powers of observation, he could predict the movement trajectories of animals.
The revelation came when Lufan was watching a butterfly in the air. When the butterfly flapped its wings, Lufan could accurately determine the next series of movements based on the angle of its wing flaps and the subtle changes in airflow.
It was truly astonishing! Lufan thought of a term: premonition—this was real premonition.
At the same time, he recalled a similar method from another martial art—the flaw detection technique of the Dugu Nine Swords. It involved seeing through an opponent's movements to anticipate their attacks and exploit any openings to defeat them.
This sparked Lufan's interest. If he could predict animal movements this way, could he also predict other things? For instance, people?
