The Shadow Leopard, a Fourth-Level Primordial Beast, is entirely black and typically appears only at night. It is an exceptional predator, but for some reason, it is here in broad daylight.
Duanmu Xue and her companions looked grim; they were in serious trouble. Although the Shadow Leopard is not known for its strength and is classified as a speed-type Primordial Beast, that comparison only holds against other beasts of the same level.

"Don't move yet," Duanmu Xue cautiously instructed. "Milan and Miko, prepare your Armor-Piercing Arrows. Zhao Xingjian, lend your precious dagger to Lufan. And Rock, make sure to protect Lufan."
Upon hearing Duanmu Xue's words, Rock immediately positioned himself in front of Lufan. The Twin sisters silently each drew an Armor-Piercing Arrow and nocked it on their bows while Zhao Xingjian reluctantly handed his dagger to Lufan.
Lufan took the dagger and noticed its cold gleam; it was incredibly sharp and could be considered a divine weapon. He wondered how Zhao Xingjian had acquired such a treasure.
"Roar!"
Before they were fully prepared, the Shadow Leopard, which had been watching them leisurely, suddenly lunged forward without warning. In an instant, a shadow darted like lightning and pounced right in front of Duanmu Xue. With a flash of cold light, it slashed down towards her neck with its claw!
The Shadow Leopard's ambush came just as they were about to get ready and their minds were beginning to relax. It clearly recognized that among them, Duanmu Xue was the strongest and targeted her first. If it could take down the strongest one in one blow, the rest would pose no threat.
This single attack demonstrated why the Shadow Leopard is one of the top predators in this jungle; both its timing and choice of target were impeccable, showcasing its hunting instincts to perfection.
If this claw were to grab hold, even if Duanmu Xue is a peak Blood Refinement Martial Cultivator with immense physical strength, it would surely result in a severed artery, or even her neck being completely torn apart!

Even her teacher remarked that Duanmu Xue was a natural-born combat genius—a legendary prodigy capable of Level Jump Challenges—destined to shine with unparalleled brilliance.
Later, Lufan heard about her exploits and couldn't help but comment that this was the standard protagonist mode; he even suspected that she might have come from another world as well. In comparison, he felt like he was bringing shame to all traversers.

At this moment, the others finally reacted. Zhao Xingjian twisted his wrist and swung his sword towards the claw of the Shadow Leopard that was resting on the spear, aiming for the weak point at the joint of the bone, intending to sever it with one strike!
