"Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms," "Nine Yang Divine Skill," "Dugu Nine Swords," "Tai Chi Chuan," "Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill"...
That's right, this is Lufan's golden finger; almost all the martial arts manuals from Jin Yong's Wuxia novels are stored in his memory.
On the seventh day after his transmigration, when these memories surfaced in Lufan's mind, he was extremely excited. He felt like a drowning person grasping at a last straw and couldn't wait to start practicing.
However, reality once again slapped him hard in the face.
He couldn't practice; these martial arts were simply impossible to cultivate!
There were two reasons for this.
First, the various meridians and acupoints mentioned in the manuals were completely unknown to Lufan. As an ordinary student, he only recognized well-known acupoints like the Baihui Acupoint; he knew almost nothing about the others.
Second, these martial arts emphasized using Heaven and Earth Vital Energy for one's own benefit during cultivation. However, in this world, doing so was tantamount to seeking death. The level of Heaven and Earth Vital Energy here was far too high; as soon as Lufan dared to absorb even a little, his body would inevitably collapse and die.
Realizing this fact, Lufan was on the verge of breaking down. He couldn't even use them—what kind of golden finger was this!
But despite his frustration, this was Lufan's last lifeline. If he didn't quickly strengthen his body, it wouldn't be long before his physical form completely collapsed. At that point, even a deity would find it difficult to save him.
After despairing, Lufan forced himself to calm down and think of a way to resolve his current predicament.
In terms of energy, there was no doubt that the only energy Lufan could handle came from ordinary food, so he had to start from there.
Not understanding meridians and acupoints, Lufan turned his attention to Qingyang Academy because he had learned that this was a world where cultivation was possible, and Qingyang Academy was precisely a place that taught cultivation knowledge.
When Lufan cautiously asked his teacher for advice, the teacher was quite surprised. After Lufan explained that he wanted to see if he could resolve his physical issues, the teacher looked at him with pity and then said something profound.
It turned out that in this world, people never had any issues with meridians because they were inherently smooth; in terms familiar to Earth, everyone was a congenital martial artist!
Therefore, it was impossible for Lufan to seek methods related to cultivating meridians or acupoints because people in this world simply had no such experience.
Just as Lufan was feeling lost and disheartened by the news, the teacher offered him a glimmer of hope. Although there were no books on the specific topic Lufan mentioned, there were some books related to Meridian theory. If Lufan wanted to read them, the teacher could grant him permission to enter the Library of the Academy.
Clinging to this last hope, Lufan arrived at the Library and found those books. Fortunately, this world used Chinese characters; although they were traditional, he could still understand them. As the teacher had said, there were only introductions to the Human Body and Meridian concepts, but no methods on how to cultivate and open the Meridians.
Though the outcome was disappointing, it was better than having nothing at all. His strong will to survive gave Lufan the courage to overcome all difficulties.
He entered a frenzied state of self-study. Aside from his duties as a Servant and necessary rest, Lufan spent nearly all his time in the Library, eagerly absorbing any knowledge that might be useful to him.
Through the Library, Lufan learned a great deal about this world.
This world was called the Heavenly Martial World, vast and mysterious, filled with secrets that one could spend a lifetime trying to explore.
There were many nations here, with numerous Sects. Each powerful Sect governed multiple countries. Qingyang City was a city within the Silver Moon Kingdom, which was subordinate to the Silver Moon Sect.
Lufan also discovered that there were special nodes in this world connecting to some Small Worlds. The people from these Small Worlds generally shared a common trait: they were physically weak and lacked strength.
This was why the teacher found Lufan curious, thinking he might have come from a Small World. There had been many precedents where individuals from Small Worlds suddenly appeared in the Heavenly Martial World for various reasons.
However, Lufan was not interested in these matters; they did not help him solve his problems. What he cared about most was information regarding cultivation methods, as that was what truly mattered.
After extensive research, Lufan gained a basic understanding of cultivation information in this world and came to a result that made him smile wryly.
There were many cultivation methods in the Heavenly Martial World—Qi Path, Witchcraft Path, Technique Path, and Martial Path among them—with Martial Path being the most prevalent. However, they all shared one crucial requirement: physical strength. Only with a sufficiently strong body could one bear greater power.
Thus, various cultivation methods essentially focused on different ways of refining the body to better adapt to their respective cultivation systems.
Taking Martial Path as an example, it divided its realms into nine levels known as Nine Grades. From First Rank to Ninth Grade, these included Refining the Skin, Refining Flesh, Blood Refinement, Refining Bones, Refining Tendons, Refining Membranes, Marrow Refinement, Refining Organs, and Refining Meridians—progressively unlocking the potential of the Human Body from outside to inside until one possessed unmatched strength capable of moving mountains and rivers with ease.
The Library not only contained descriptions of these Martial Path realms but also methods for cultivating up to Third Rank. Although they were basic techniques, if Lufan could practice them, perhaps he could resolve his issues.
Unfortunately, he could not. As mentioned before, these cultivation methods also emphasized refining Heaven and Earth Vital Energy—this was why Lufan smiled wryly.
However, after enduring so many setbacks, Lufan has developed a sufficiently strong Heart to face everything. After careful consideration, he made a decision to create a Mind Technique, a technique that he could cultivate himself.
Although he knew that creating a Mind Technique was extremely difficult, Lufan had no other choice. Fortunately, he had a series of martial arts manuals in his mind, and the Library contained many cultivation books that could serve as excellent references.
Moreover, Lufan was not trying to create an earth-shattering Divine Skill; he simply wanted to develop a method to convert food energy into Inner Strength through an Inner Strength Cultivation Method.
With time pressing on him, Lufan did not dwell on it for long. The Grim Reaper's whip forced him to take action, so he began to study martial arts knowledge diligently to accumulate the necessary skills for his Mind Technique.
However, it was indeed a tall order for someone who had never engaged in cultivation to create a Mind Technique. Lufan's frail body at that time could hardly support such an endeavor. Luckily, during his research on the manuals, Lufan discovered a special martial art known as the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill.
Lufan found that the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill was unique; it was a technique from Esoteric Buddhism that could comprehensively enhance physical strength. Moreover, it did not require the absorption of Heaven and Earth Vital Energy but focused on visualizing the body's three meridians and seven chakras to unleash potential deep within the body and strengthen it. Most importantly, Lufan could cultivate it!
Although everyone on Earth knew that progress with the Dragon Elephant Prajna Skill was painfully slow, it indeed provided Lufan with a chance to catch his breath. A year after his journey began, Lufan finally created his Mind Technique.
This was inspired by the Northern Darkness Divine Skill and Transformation Technique. By shifting the energy absorption characteristics from external to internal, he maximized the absorption of food energy and converted it into Inner Strength before breaking through and unblocking all his Meridians. He still named it the Northern Darkness Divine Skill.
For many years, Lufan persevered like Yu Gong moving mountains, using his meager Inner Strength with unimaginable patience to gradually unblock his Meridians. Perhaps due to changes in the world's rules, breaking through was not as difficult as he had imagined. In the seventh year after Lufan's journey began, he finally unblocked all his Meridians.
When all his Meridians were unblocked, Lufan wept tears of joy. After years of cautious and treacherous cultivation, he finally reaped the rewards and could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
However, what Lufan did not expect was that fate would play another trick on him; an even greater crisis appeared before him.
