I returned home in the evening. When Han Weiting went to take a shower, someone came in to help me change the bed sheets to new ones. The scent on them was clean, free from that jerk Han Weiting's presence. To my surprise, I fell asleep faster than usual.
In my dreams, there were many fragmented memories from high school. Half-awake, I heard two people cleaning the room.
"Do you think this Miss Lin is really Han Weiting's fiancée?" one asked.
"She should be; I heard from the butler that Han Weiting treasures her and specifically told us to help her change to clean sheets," the other replied.
"But wasn't she brought back because she looks a lot like Han Weiting's first love?"
"Really? Who told you that?"
"I heard sister Zhou say it; she said Han Weiting couldn't get over his first love, so he found a substitute, saying it was a compromise."
"I see; I thought she was the main one."
Listening to their gossip, I couldn't help but feel pleased inside.
"Hehe, Han Weiting, it seems you are mine for the taking!"
I continued to immerse myself in my dreams. In my dream, Han Weiting was still that jerk. He locked me in the equipment room, causing me to miss the midterm exam. He cut my hair, leading to me being punished by the teacher. On my birthday, he splashed cold water on me, making me catch a cold for a week.
In my dream, Han Weiting transformed into his current self. He tried every way to please me and took care of me gently, as if he had become a different person altogether. Just as I was dreaming, Han Weiting quietly walked into the room. He looked at my face with a puzzled expression.
He slowly leaned closer, wanting to hear what I was dreaming about. Unexpectedly, I suddenly opened my eyes, and our noses almost touched. I was startled by him and couldn't help but laugh.
"Ha ha, Han Weiting, you look so silly!"
He couldn't help but laugh either. He gently pinched my nose and asked, "Little fool, what were you laughing about in your dream?"
I blinked and playfully said, "I won't tell you!"
He pretended to be angry, pinned me down, and started tickling me. I giggled uncontrollably.
After a while of playful banter, he finally pulled me into his arms and gently said, "Nuan Nuan, I will always make you as happy as you are now."
When I woke up, the sunset outside was ablaze with fiery clouds. Han Weiting was sitting by the bed quietly flipping through the pages of a book.
I deliberately coughed a couple of times to get his attention. He turned to look at me, a hint of a smile in his eyes: "Is your throat uncomfortable?"
I nodded, and he looked a bit worried as he reached out to check my forehead, frowning slightly: "You have a bit of a fever; no wonder your voice is hoarse."
I muttered unhappily, "It's all your fault for making me drink ice water last night."
He couldn't help but chuckle: "Should I go get you a cup of hot water?"
As soon as I heard that, I quickly shook my head: "No! I hate drinking hot water!"
He raised an eyebrow: "Then what do you want to drink?"
I thought for a moment and smiled mischievously: "I want milk tea!"
He sighed helplessly: "Your throat is like this and you still want milk tea?"
I blinked: "Then how about fruit tea?"
He smiled indulgently: "Alright, I'll take you to buy some later."
When Han Weiting took me away from home, the red clouds outside seemed to burn into one's heart. I looked at the scenery outside and happily hummed a tune. Suddenly, I remembered something and turned to ask him, "Where are we going?" He smiled mysteriously and replied, "Home." I was taken aback for a moment, then realized and exclaimed, "You’re taking me home?" He nodded, saying, "Yes, it's time for you to meet my family." I felt a bit anxious inside, unsure of how he would introduce me. Would it be as his girlfriend? Or fiancée? Or… I realized that I was actually looking forward to his introduction.
