They already knew that this matter was not simple, but now, no matter what, there were no other options left. If they wanted to find out the ultimate truth of the whole situation, they had to confront certain things. First, they needed to gather some information.
However, Zifeng seemed a bit impatient about this. He wasn't indifferent or ignorant; he was just straightforward with Xia Xiaoyu—he was unwilling to investigate.
What surprised Xia Xiaoyu today was that Zifeng unexpectedly cooked at his home and ate with them, and the key point was that he didn't ask them to pay for the meal.
He still looked so stern while eating, with long light blue hair that gave off a flowing feeling. In fact, his appearance resembled those handsome men from Korean dramas—elegant and possessing a noble aura. It was hard for Xia Xiaoyu to imagine that this guy dealt with spirits.
After dinner, Xia Xiaoyu and Xu Qian started chatting about various topics, while Zifeng quietly sat beside them, lost in thought.
At two o'clock in the afternoon, Xia Xiaoyu left Zifeng's house and bid farewell to the two of them. The sky was still bright, and it was a sunny day. Xia Xiaoyu let out a long sigh; this kind of life felt quite pleasant.

She hailed a taxi on the road and told the driver.
The lawns on both sides quickly flashed by as the trees in the suburbs continuously receded. Sitting in the car, Xia Xiaoyu recalled the events of these past few days, feeling as if it were all a dream—so real yet so surreal.
Just as they were heading toward Cherry Blossom University, Chen Mumu suddenly called her.
"Hello, Chen Mumu, what's up?"
Xia Xiaoyu sat in the car, glancing at her phone before answering the call, but her gaze remained fixed on the world outside the window.
“Xia Xiaoyu, I found out that Wang Xiaojia was born in 1990. By now, she should be 22 years old. Her home is located on the outskirts of the city, in a place called Qingshui Village. She has no siblings; her family consists only of her parents. She is an only child and comes from a poor background. The records indicate that she is a low-income student, but her academic performance is excellent.”
“Okay, I understand,” Xia Xiaoyu interrupted Chen Mumu and hung up the phone.
She felt a strong sense of urgency. Looking at the time, it was just past two o'clock. Without overthinking, Xia Xiaoyu quickly told the driver, “Driver, turn towards Qingshui Village.”
Now that she had a lead, Xia Xiaoyu was determined not to give up easily. Time was tight, and she didn’t want to waste any more of it; she needed to clarify the entire situation as soon as possible. She wasn’t sure where Qingshui Village was, but she believed there was still enough time to return before dark.
At Cherry Blossom University, there were indeed some very impoverished students who generally performed well academically. Such students received certain financial aid because their high average scores helped raise the overall average for the university. This was beneficial for the institution.
Therefore, any student whose average score significantly exceeded the threshold could essentially study for free at Cherry Blossom University.
The taxi drove south from the city center for an hour and a half before reaching the outskirts of the city. Outside, it became quite remote; there were still several villages and forests surrounding the area.
