Xia Xiaoyu felt a shiver run through her body at Zifeng's words.
"Could you not say it so ominously?" Xia Xiaoyu said angrily, then turned her head to glance at the eerily quiet Small Grove nearby, and another wave of chill washed over her.
"The Ghost Infant can take on the appearance of a child and runs around at night..." Zifeng spoke calmly, his expression unruffled, exuding a sense of composure as if nothing could disturb him.
This made Xia Xiaoyu think of the little girl she had seen on the rooftop.
So, that little girl was the Ghost Infant?
Oh my god, just thinking about it crawling out from a dead person's belly made Xia Xiaoyu feel a wave of numbness; even her spine felt cold.
"But why is it looking for me? We haven't offended 'her'!" Xia Xiaoyu forced herself to sound calm.
"The Ghost Infant is just like a child. They act purely on instinct. When a Ghost Infant becomes interested in someone, it will often come to play with that person at night. However, the Ghost Infant is quite powerful, but it's also quite fun!" Zifeng joked.
"Fun?"
Hearing this, Xia Xiaoyu nearly choked. Would you still think it's fun if a non-human child sat on your bed at night or climbed through your window?
Damn it, it would scare you to death...
Xia Xiaoyu was now very sure that this man in front of her either had nerves of steel or must have been kicked in the head by a donkey when he was young.

"Alright, let's stop talking about that. Have you noticed any mysterious or suspicious people at the University? Anyone whose behavior seems odd?"
Zifeng frowned and asked Xia Xiaoyu.
"Mysterious, suspicious people!" Xia Xiaoyu paused, thought for a moment, then shook her head. "No, there aren't any suspicious people."
"Or maybe it's just an illusion..."
Zifeng let out a long sigh. He could sense that this University was unusual. However, during the night when he was on guard, he clearly felt a wave of energy. It was subtle and weak, but this aura didn't signify weakness; it was strong—at least comparable to his own.
This aura indicated that there was someone at the University or nearby who had abilities similar to his own.
It should be one of the Exorcists from the other three schools.
"Are you scared?" Zifeng suddenly asked out of the blue.
Xia Xiaoyu gazed into those eyes that seemed to hold a different kind of charm. Although she was terrified inside, she forced herself to shake her head and said with a brave face, "Scared? Ha, just look at who I am. I've seen worse than this; how could I be scared?"
Zifeng nodded and said, "Well, you have quite the courage..."
"Of course! It's not bragging; what kind of scene haven't I witnessed? Would I be scared?" Xia Xiaoyu tried to stand tall, though her chest was lacking in substance. She was determined, looking as if she had experienced grand events before.
"Alright then, I sense something nearby. I don't have time; you handle it first. I'm leaving..." Zifeng said, unable to suppress a slight smile at Xia Xiaoyu's demeanor. After finishing, he turned and walked toward the other end of the Small Grove.
"Something? No way... I..." Xia Xiaoyu turned her head but found Zifeng's infuriating figure leisurely moving forward into the darkness.
"Would I be scared?"
Xia Xiaoyu silently asked herself.
Finally, she felt a chill beginning to rise, her eyes darting around the dark corners of the Forest, which felt eerily unsettling.
So, in the next moment, Xia Xiaoyu calmly called out to Zifeng, "Hey, don't go! Wait for me..."
