"Kim Seongmin!"
Kim Seongmin sat by the field, looking at the nearby lake. He held a wild grass stem in his hand, swaying it back and forth absentmindedly. When he heard his name, his body instinctively trembled, his movement paused, but he didn't turn around.
This voice sounds familiar, Kim Seongmin feels like he's heard it somewhere before.
When the owner of the voice sat down next to him, Kim Seongmin remembered that it was the new college student teacher, named Han Zhicheng.
"Long time no see, what are you doing sitting here?" Han Zhicheng naturally put his arm around Kim Seongmin's shoulder and asked with a smile, as if they were old friends who had known each other for years.
"Long time no see..."
Kim Seongmin was taken aback, not used to this sudden intimacy. After politely greeting, he pushed away Han Zhicheng's hand, crossed his arms around his knees, not looking at Han Zhicheng, and kept his gaze on the lake in front of him.
"You haven't answered my question yet?"
Han Zhicheng was pushed away but not annoyed, still talking to Kim Seongmin, the fragrance on his body stained Kim Seongmin, faintly like a floral scent. Kim Seongmin couldn't describe it, he couldn't imagine something he might have never seen before.
Kim Seongmin I regret a little, I shouldn't have talked to Han Zhicheng, I should have run away the moment I heard his voice.
"Rest."
Out of basic courtesy, Kim Seongmin responded with a brief statement, cutting off any further conversation. Han Zhicheng nodded, then took the initiative to create some distance from Kim Seongmin. The air fell silent for a few seconds, with only the sound of the wind cutting through.
"You don't seem to welcome me very much..."
Han Zhicheng spoke, his tone suddenly becoming heavy, with a hint of grievance upon closer listening.
Kim Seongmin pursed his lips, clearly he had disrupted his own alone time, but now he was blaming himself.
"No, Teacher Han is a City resident, everyone welcomes you."
The people of the village welcomed Han Zhicheng's arrival with great joy. For decades, this village had not produced a single college student, but they had a knack for embracing them. It was rare for a male college student to come, so he should be cherished.
"Don't tease me. Being a city resident is just a title, nothing worth mentioning."
Han Zhicheng unknowingly pierced Kim Seongmin's heart with an indifferent tone, and the casual words invisibly conveyed to him the vast difference between them.
To Han Zhicheng, "City residents" is just an insignificant identity; to Kim Seongmin, simply being a "City resident" is enough.
For City residents, this is just a way to experience life.
"Teacher Han is a knowledgeable person, and there's nothing much for us to talk about."
Kim Seongmin wants to leave here quickly and not be found talking together. There are always people coming and going here, and he can't afford to lose face anymore.
"Kim Seongmin, I want to get to know you. I know we are about the same age. You don't have to call me Teacher Han, just call me Zhicheng."
Han Zhicheng answered irrelevantly, reaching out directly and looking Kim Seongmin firmly in the eyes.
Kim Seongmin suddenly remembered the person who always looked at him with determined eyes and said they could escape, lowered his gaze, stood up, and apologized to Han Zhicheng.
"I'm sorry, Teacher Han, I'm just a countryside person, how can I be friends with you? I'll go back first."
A rude way is more straightforward and can quickly solve the problem.
Without paying attention to Han Zhicheng's reaction, Kim Seongmin turned around and left.
The distance between the city and the countryside is like night and day, and he didn't dare to have any expectations.
