After a long silence, the surroundings remained dark, even shrouded in a thin mist that added an eerie quality to the quiet night.
This place was truly strange, so strange that it felt unbelievable. Right now, Xia Xiaoyu just wanted to leave.
There was no sound, no movement; the night seemed like it had been painted with black oil paint—monotonous and desolate. It instilled a fear that came from deep within the soul.
Crouching under the tree, Lin Xi paused for a long time as if making up her mind, slowly turning her head.
It was difficult, so slow that it gave Xia Xiaoyu an unsettling feeling, almost as if she were not human—stiff and numb.
Finally, Lin Xi's head turned around. Her bloodshot eyes and pale face clearly showed that she had been greatly frightened.

In the darkness, Xu Qian rushed over in a panic, clearly drawn by the screams of Xia Xiaoyu and Lin Xi.
