"Did you notice it?"
Xu Qian asked calmly as he observed the changing expression on Xia Xiaoyu's face.
"How could this happen?"
Everything was just dark. Outside, nothing had changed, but to Xia Xiaoyu, it felt as if the entire world had vanished.
She clearly remembered that just a few minutes ago, there had been a large truck parked under the big tree outside the car window, but now it was gone. Everything was gone.
"Because we have entered another world, a place that looks exactly like the outside, but here, it is someone else's territory!"
Xu Qian's expression grew increasingly serious.
"What do you mean?" Xia Xiaoyu was completely bewildered.
"Don't you realize that although this place looks just like before, many things are missing? There are no living beings, nothing that can move; all there is, is silence!"
From Xu Qian's face, it was clear that they seemed to be in serious trouble this time!
"You mean that when I was at Jingming Park, my friend Hydraulic was there too, but we were not in the same place? She is in another world!" Xia Xiaoyu was stunned; it was too absurd. It completely exceeded any human concept.
"No, she was taken into her own illusion by something dirty. The place you were in at the beginning was real, but she ran into trouble."
Xu Qian shook his head to dismiss Xia Xiaoyu's exaggeration and spoke seriously.
"Then tell me, have we also entered now?"
Realizing the difference outside, Xia Xiaoyu had to admit Xu Qian's words.
"Yes, since your friend entered the illusion right after leaving school, we must have come in through the school gate as well. That's why I took you around in circles!"
"Oh my God, this is terrifying!"
"I told you, we should leave, but you didn't believe me! You insisted on coming in."
"So what do we do now?"
"Just chill!"
Xu Qian continued driving, but the entire world was devoid of any life.
"I used to think it was great to be the only person in the world, but now it seems it's not as perfect as I imagined?"
The surrounding silence forced Xu Qian to find a topic to distract both of them.
"Why do you think you're the only one here?" Xia Xiaoyu's anxiety grew stronger because it was indeed eerily quiet.
"Think about it, if I'm the only man in the world, then all the women belong to me. That's way better than being an emperor!"
Xu Qian joked to ease their increasingly rapid heartbeats.
"Hmph, I knew men were no good. Even in this creepy place, you're still thinking about that!" Xia Xiaoyu shot Xu Qian a glare.
"But seriously, this place isn't bad. I could bring a girlfriend here for a date in the future!"
Xu Qian chuckled.
"Alright, let's stop with your nonsense. Now tell me, is there a way out of this place?"
"Nope!"
Xu Qian answered bluntly.
"Okay then!"
Suddenly, at this moment, Xia Xiaoyu could only accept her fate.
The car arrived outside Jingming Park, where it was dark and silent inside, completely devoid of any movement.
"Let's go, get out and take a look. If your friend is really in Jingming Park, they should be here!" Xu Qian stopped the car and then turned to Xia Xiaoyu.
"I hope so!"
Xia Xiaoyu unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car with Xu Qian, entering the park.
At midnight, the entire park was eerily quiet and extremely dark. Perhaps due to the absence of any living beings, there was no sound at all, not even a hint of movement.
No matter how lightly Xia Xiaoyu tried to tread, she could still hear the hollow footsteps that made her heart tremble. Everything here felt unreal. It was as if stepping on the ground could cause her to sink at any moment.
"Damn it!"
Xia Xiaoyu cursed inwardly, but she couldn't hide the fear that surged within her. Indeed, this place was too strange; there were no moving objects at all. Everything was still.
If a person lived in such an environment, even a reclusive one would probably go mad.
