After bidding farewell to Li Hongmei and Wang Tiantian, Xia Xiaoyu slowly made her way upstairs with her luggage. It was no easy task for a delicate girl to carry her belongings up five flights of stairs.
After much effort, she finally reached the Fifth Floor. The Staircase Entrance led to Dorm 510, and the rooms were lined up in order: 510, 512...
After passing three rooms, Xia Xiaoyu finally stood in front of Dorm 514. She glanced at the doorplate and let out a long sigh.
The door was somewhat old, likely due to the dormitory building being closed off for some time. All the dorm rooms were in similar condition.
Creak...
Xia Xiaoyu used her key to unlock the door. The long-unopened door creaked strangely as it rubbed against the rusty hinges.
As she opened the door, a gentle breeze swept through, lifting the strands of hair that had fallen across her face.
However, she couldn't help but shiver!
It wasn't cold, but that light breeze felt as chilling as air from an air conditioner. The most unsettling part was that the wind didn't come from the airflow created by opening the door; it seemed to rise out of nowhere!
That sensation was as if someone had been standing right at the doorway when she opened it, blowing a cold breath directly at her!
However, Xia Xiaoyu did not think too much about it; she simply felt a bit cold.
The dormitory was somewhat messy, clearly not cleaned yet. However, on the beds by the window, beds 3 and 5 were already made, indicating that someone was living there!
A layer of dust covered the inside of the dormitory, making it look dull and lifeless. Perhaps it had been a long time since anyone had stayed there, and the lack of warmth made it much colder inside than outside.
Xia Xiaoyu found her bed and dumped her things on the floor. After taking a short break, she cleaned her bed and spread out her quilt.
By the time she finished all this, it was almost 5:40. At that moment, Xia Xiaoyu had no interest in going to the cafeteria for dinner; she could just buy something to eat later.
At six o'clock, the sky was not dark yet. Looking out the window revealed only a grayish scene! Just as she was about to go buy some food, the dormitory door swung open.
A petite figure rushed in, looking delicate and charming, with long hair cascading over her shoulders. When her beautiful eyes met Xia Xiaoyu's, she froze in surprise.
Xia Xiaoyu was equally stunned when she saw this girl. After a moment, both of them almost incredulously exclaimed at the same time:
"Xiao Xi!"
"Xia Xiaoyu!"
They recognized each other; they were classmates in high school and also good friends. However, after graduation, they had basically lost contact, making it hard to believe they would run into each other at this moment.
Her name was Lin Xi, and she had a cheerful personality similar to Xia Xiaoyu's, which meant they had plenty to talk about.
"You are also here studying? What a coincidence! Not only are we at the same school, but we're also in the same dormitory!"
Lin Xi couldn't believe her eyes as she looked at this sister she hadn't seen in a long time. The sudden surge of emotions from years of absence left her at a loss for words.
"Of course! If you can come, why can't I?" Xia Xiaoyu replied with a smile, then rolled her eyes playfully, just like they used to joke around back in the day.
"Yes, yes, yes! You can definitely come!" Lin Xi laughed.
"This dorm is such a mess; why don't you clean it up?" Xia Xiaoyu said with a pout.
Lin Xi's cheeks flushed slightly as she replied, "I just moved in today! I was originally living in the New Girls' Dormitory Building. I really didn't expect that halfway through, the Administrator said the Teaching Office made a mistake and told me to move here!"
"Ah!"
Xia Xiaoyu exclaimed in surprise.
