Mo Li, feeling frustrated, couldn't resist the temptation of the sea and wanted to jump in to clear her mind.
Without thinking much, she put down her bag and leaped into the water.
As she was in mid-air, Mo Li suddenly realized how impulsive she had been.
She wasn't wearing a swimsuit; jumping in like this would leave her completely soaked.
Fortunately, the weather was hot and the sun was blazing. By the time she walked back to the hotel, her clothes should be dry.
Just as she was about to hit the water, she seemed to hear someone shouting loudly.
However, Mo Li paid no attention; she didn't have the energy to concern herself with others' business when her own troubles were enough to handle.
Mo Li jumped into the water, hugging her head with her arms, not wanting to surface.
Suddenly, she felt someone grab her arm amidst the rippling water.
Startled, Mo Li opened her eyes and saw a tall, graceful figure swimming beside her.
Instinctively, she kicked her legs and brought her head above the surface.
The hand that grabbed her arm dragged her towards the shore.
The strength of that hand was immense, and Mo Li couldn't break free.
She heard a deep, magnetic voice beside her saying, "Don't move, we're almost on land."
Mo Li wiped the water from her face and turned her head.
What caught her eye was a rugged yet handsome face.
Mo Li felt a moment of daze.
She had the illusion that the surroundings had darkened, as if all the sunlight was condensed on this face through the glistening water droplets on his tanned skin and black hair.
Suddenly, she stepped onto solid ground, snapping Mo Li back to reality.
She moved her hands through the water and steadied herself on the beach.
The man beside her also stood on the sand, releasing Mo Li's arm and immediately starting to scold her.
"Hey, you're still young. What makes you want to seek death?"
Seek death?
Mo Li suddenly understood the man's motive for pulling her ashore, and couldn't help but laugh.
Her gloomy heart felt as if it had been illuminated by a ray of sunshine.
"Still laughing? How can you still laugh?"
The man was infuriated when he saw the faint smile on Mo Li's face.
"Look around you. There isn't a single person here. If I hadn't happened to be in the mood to swim today, you might have drowned, and then let's see if you would still be able to laugh. Hey, why are you smiling?"
