In a gathering place, a group of people was beating a man wearing a silver mask. The masked individual remained silent throughout the ordeal, neither running nor dodging, simply standing there and enduring the punches and kicks.

Koi were difficult to catch and hard to keep alive; currently, only the Sect Leader and a few members of the Elder Council possessed them. One of the Outer Sect Disciples responsible for catching koi was absent, so she took their place. Another disciple who was supposed to deliver the koi to the Elder Council was also missing, and she filled in again.
What a coincidence.

Another kick sent the man in the silver mask crashing to the ground. Despite his boots being muddy, they still showed signs of good quality.
The silver mask, also known as "All Things Have Spirits," was used as punishment for disciples who made mistakes within the sect. There was a legend behind this item: two thousand years ago, a beast terrorized a region, causing great suffering among the people. The beast had a body like a sheep but a human face, with eyes under its armpits and human hands with tiger-like teeth—extremely ferocious and leaving nothing alive in its wake.
At that time, the Qingshan Sect had just been established; the newly appointed leader took it upon himself to eliminate this beast and led his disciples into battle against it. The fight darkened the skies; the beast was slain, but the leader was gravely injured, and none of his disciples survived.
After its death, the beast transformed into a mask—the precursor to today's silver mask.
The disciples of the Qing Shan faction viewed the silver mask as a disgrace. If it weren't for a serious crime, one would never be forced to wear a mask as punishment. The appearance of the silver mask surprised Yulin. What had happened during the eleven years she had been asleep?
"If you don't speak up, I'll tie you up and take you to the Punishment Hall, where the Disciples of Punishment will search the Spirit Mansion!"
The masked figure remained silent, neither resisting nor struggling, only occasionally letting out a muffled grunt to prove he was still alive.
"You little bastard, you've really gone too far!" Ergou Tau spat, stepping on his chest and grinding it down. "Do you believe I won't take you to the Punishment Hall right now?"
The captured person still did not speak. Yulin pouted, watching the scene unfold, unable to suppress her thoughts. She didn't believe Ergou Tau truly had the guts to take someone to the Punishment Hall. Searching the Spirit Mansion? It sounded as if he really dared to do so.

Yulin rolled her eyes, not believing it. An Outer Sect Disciple being able to see the Disciples of Punishment was already impressive enough; wanting to involve them from the Punishment Hall was simply a pipe dream.
The one called Fish Thief still refused to say anything, and Yulin watched with curiosity. This guy was truly tough.
