On a sunny day, Liu Ming Baby threw a paper airplane towards Zhang Qian from the teaching building.
"Xiao Qian, catch!" Liu Ming shouted.
Zhang Qian didn't hear him, so Liu Ming called out again.
Only then did Zhang Qian hear and turn to look at him. "What?" she asked.
"Catch!" Liu Ming repeated.
Zhang Qian rolled her eyes. "..." She watched the paper airplane flying towards her and pouted, "So childish."
Despite her words, she ran over and jumped to try to catch the paper airplane.
She missed it, and it flew away again.
Zhang Qian persisted and continued to chase after it.
Liu Ming Baby watched Zhang Qian chasing the paper airplane with a smile in his eyes. She was really cute.
The paper airplane landed on the lawn, and Zhang Qian ran over to look for it.
At that moment, another girl came running and picked up the paper airplane from the ground.
"That's mine," Zhang Qian said.
The girl replied, "It clearly belongs to me."
Zhang Qian insisted, "My friend threw it to me."
The girl countered, "But I was right here when it fell next to me."
Zhang Qian paused for a moment and said, "Then you can keep it."
The girl smiled happily, "Thank you."
Zhang Qian shrugged. After all, she didn't know what Liu Ming had written inside anyway.
Zhang Qian headed home with her backpack.
Yang Bo noticed the paper airplane in her bag and asked curiously, "Whose is this?"
"It's Liu Ming's," Zhang Qian replied. "He threw it to me for me to keep."
Yang Bo picked up the paper airplane and examined it closely. "It looks like there's something written on it."
Zhang Qian leaned in closer, "Really? Let me see."
Yang Bo pretended to open it, "I'll open it."
Zhang Qian quickly stopped him, "Wait, Liu Ming said we can't take it apart."
Yang Bo paused, "Why?"
Zhang Qian shrugged, "I don't know. He insisted there's a secret inside and told me to figure it out myself."
Yang Bo chuckled lightly, "Then should I take a look?"
Zhang Qian hesitated, "Maybe not. What if he finds out?"
Yang Bo blinked, "If you don't say anything and I don't say anything, how would he know?"
Zhang Qian: "..."
Yang Bo opened the paper airplane, which only had one sentence written on it: "I like you."
He smirked, "This guy is really cheesy."
Zhang Qian asked curiously, "What does it say?"
Yang Bo replied, "Nothing. He's just joking."
Zhang Qian responded, "Oh."
Yang Bo folded the paper airplane back up and handed it to Zhang Qian.
Zhang Qian stuffed it into her backpack.
Yang Bo patted her head, "Good girl."
Zhang Qian pouted, "I haven't finished my homework yet."
Yang Bo encouraged her, "Go finish it quickly."
Zhang Qian ran off to do her homework.
Yang Bo watched her retreating figure with a gentle smile.
...
After finishing her homework, Zhang Qian went to dance. By the time she was done dancing, it was already dark outside. She took the paper airplane home with her.
As soon as she entered the house, she heard Liu Ming Baby's roar.
"I don't want to! I already said I don't want to!"
Zhang Qian was startled and peeked inside.
Madam Liu scolded Liu Ming Baby, "How old are you to be so willful? You are going to inherit the family business; how can you not learn anything?"
Liu Ming Baby protested, "I don't want to! I don't like it at all!"
Madam Liu was furious, "You ungrateful child!"
Seeing Liu Ming Baby being scolded, Zhang Qian didn't dare to go in and quietly withdrew her head. She stood at the door holding the paper airplane. Liu Ming Baby ran out without acknowledging her and dashed away.
Zhang Qian sighed and went home with a pout.
As soon as she entered the door, Madam Zhang asked, "Have you finished your homework?"
Zhang Qian nodded, "Yes, I have."
Madam Zhang instructed, "Then go practice your dance."
Zhang Qian replied, "I already practiced today."
Madam Zhang said, "Then review your lessons."
Zhang Qian remained silent. She went upstairs, hid the paper airplane under the sofa, and then came back down to study.
Madam Zhang kept a watchful eye on her.
Zhang Qian endured until ten o'clock when Madam Zhang finally allowed her to go back to her room to sleep.
She rushed back to her room, dug out the paper airplane from under the sofa, and tucked it under her pillow before going to sleep.
Late at night, Zhang Qian snuggled under the covers and took out her diary to write.
"Today Liu Ming threw me a paper airplane and told me to hold onto it. I asked him what secret it contained, but he wouldn't tell me; he just said I had to find out myself. Hmph, stingy! But his paper airplane is quite pretty; it has Princess Elsa on it."
"Tonight Liu Ming got scolded by his mom, and he seemed really sad; he didn't talk to me at all. I'm sad too because my mom is strict with me as well. But I'm not afraid because I know she loves me."
"Liu Ming is like a little puppy; when he's unhappy, his ears droop, and when he's happy, he wags his tail. But he always likes to bully me, so he's a naughty monster."
"Today's math problems are so hard; I can't solve them. I want to call Liu Ming for help, but he doesn't like math either. I thought about calling Brother Yang Bo but I'm afraid he might be asleep."
"My mom says I can't be picky with food and that I should eat more vegetables. But I don't like vegetables; I only like meat. I wish I could just eat grass like a little rabbit so that my mom wouldn't force me to eat vegetables."
"My dad hasn't come home in a long time; I miss him a bit. I hope he comes back soon because I want to tell him I've learned so much new knowledge."
"I read a book today that said if you like someone, you should bravely confess your feelings. But I'm scared; what if I'm rejected? Then we wouldn't even be friends anymore."
"Time for bed, goodnight."
