"Sigh, I wonder how Mom and Dad are doing right now. Are they missing me too?" I sighed.
He gazed at the Full Moon in the sky, tears streaming down his face unknowingly. He stood outside the cave for a long time, returning only deep into the night.
I lay on the stone bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep for a long time. Images of my parents kept flashing through his mind, along with familiar landscapes and people.
"Sigh, I really wish I could return to the real world soon," I sighed again. He turned over, closed his eyes, trying to force himself to sleep.
However, he couldn't fall asleep no matter what; his mind was filled with countless thoughts. In this state of half-sleep, he gradually entered a wondrous realm.
Suddenly, a strange scene appeared before him. In the image, an elderly man with white hair and a long beard smiled and nodded at him. The old man had an ethereal presence, with a youthful face despite his age, dressed in simple white robes that were clean and neat, exuding an otherworldly aura.
I looked at the old man in surprise and asked, "Who are you...?"
The old man smiled and nodded, saying, "Little friend, you are the one from the legend."
I was stunned and confused. "What legendary person? Do you know me?"
The old man replied with a smile, "There is a destiny in the dark; your arrival in Stone Oven Kingdom is not by chance but by fate. From today onward, a great responsibility will be bestowed upon you."
"A great responsibility? What does that mean?" I asked in confusion.
The old man looked at him with a smile and slowly said, "The secrets of heaven cannot be revealed; you will understand in due time."
"But I..." I wanted to ask more questions, but suddenly the old man vanished without a trace.
Startled, I woke up abruptly and realized I had just had a dream. Sitting up, I rubbed my sleepy eyes and murmured to myself, "What just happened? Was that really a dream? But what did that old man's words mean?"
He pondered over it endlessly and had no choice but to lie back down again, closing his eyes in an attempt to continue sleeping. However, he couldn't fall asleep anymore; the old man's words lingered in his heart, leaving him perplexed.
"Ah, I won't think about it anymore. Maybe I'm just overthinking," I sighed, speaking to myself.
He turned over, forcing himself not to dwell on those thoughts, gradually drifting off to sleep.
The next morning, I was awakened by the sound of birds chirping outside the cave.
He yawned, sat up, stretched lazily, and then slowly stood up.
He walked outside the cave, breathed in the fresh air, and moved his limbs around, feeling invigorated.
"A new day has begun," I said with a smile to myself.
He returned to the cave and began to wash up.
After finishing his morning routine, he started preparing breakfast.
He took out a piece of roasted meat, put it in his mouth, and began to chew heartily.
"Mm, it smells really good," I nodded in satisfaction.
After finishing the roasted meat, he drank a glass of water and then walked out of the cave entrance.
Outside the cave, the sun was shining brightly, the birds were singing, and the scenery was as enchanting as ever.
I admired the beautiful view, feeling particularly joyful.
He took a deep breath and began his work for the new day.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.
During this half month, I had stayed in Stone Oven Kingdom without leaving even a step.
Every day, aside from training, he studied that sheepskin map in hopes of finding some clues.
Unfortunately, he had not made much progress.
"Ah, what a hassle," I sighed again, speaking to myself.
