After the lunch break bell rang, the classroom gradually became lively. I was awakened by the surrounding noise, rubbed my eyes, and groggily sat up. The seat next to me was empty; I had already gotten used to Gaoyuan's elusive lifestyle. 0

I instinctively glanced at Zhang Qian not far away. She was still sleeping but surrounded by a group of girls. 0

"Zhang Qian, I bought the Chanel bag I've wanted for so long yesterday, I'm so happy!" 0
"Zhang Qian, look at how pretty this pen is!" 0
"Zhang Qian, is this how you solve this problem?" 0

They chattered away, waking Zhang Qian up. She frowned as she sat up and slammed her hand on the desk. 0

Bang— 0

I was startled by the sudden noise and fully awakened. 0

"You're so loud," Zhang Qian said coldly. 0

"Ah, I'm sorry, Zhang Qian." The girl was taken aback, her face pale as she looked at Zhang Qian. "I didn't mean to; I just... just wanted to show you my new pen." 0

"Who allowed you to show off here?" Zhang Qian glared at her. 0

The girl was frightened by Zhang Qian's gaze and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, Zhang Qian, I won't do it again." 0

"Hmph." Zhang Qian snorted coldly and ignored her. 0

The girl hurried back to her seat, took out her textbook, and pretended to study seriously. 0

Watching this scene, I was secretly astonished. It was the first time I had seen Zhang Qian lose her temper. Previously, I only thought she was very proud and aloof, but I didn't expect her to be so intimidating when angry. However, that girl did go a bit too far. Disturbing someone’s rest and showing off her new pen was indeed inappropriate. 0

However, wasn't Zhang Qian's attitude a bit too cold? Aren't they friends? Just as I was thinking about this, Gaoyuan returned from outside. He sat back down and glanced at me, "You're awake?" 0

"Yeah," I nodded. 0

"I thought you weren't coming to class today," I said. 0

"The school rules state that you have to attend at least four classes during the lunch break to leave," he replied. 0

"Oh," I nodded again, "I thought you had already left." 0

He paused and looked at me, "You thought I left?" 0

"Yeah." 0

"Why?" 0

"Because you didn't come to class yesterday." 0

"I attended your previous school for a semester," he said. 0

"Really?" I was taken aback, "How come I don't remember that?" 0

He stared at me for a moment before looking away, "You sat in the front." 0

"But... what does sitting in the front have to do with anything?" I asked, confused. 0

He didn't respond and lowered his head to open his textbook. 0

As I watched him, something suddenly came to mind: "By the way, why did you attend my previous school for a semester?" 0

He didn't look up, "I wanted to read, so I did." 0

"But... why did you transfer here?" 0

He was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "For the same reason as you." 0

"Huh?" I was even more puzzled, "What do you mean by 'the same reason as me'?" 0

He didn't answer and continued reading his book. 0

I looked at him in confusion, increasingly feeling that he was enigmatic. However, I still had one question I wanted to ask him. 0

"Um... can I ask you a question?" I said. 0

"Sure," he replied without lifting his head. 0

"Why did someone ask me this morning how to get along with you?" 0
He looked up at me. 0
"How would I know?" 0
"But they seem to think that we have a good relationship." 0
"What do you think?" 0
"I... I think we're just ordinary friends." 0
"Mm." He replied and lowered his head, continuing to read. 0
What does "mm" mean? 0
Is it an agreement with what I said, or does he not want to continue this topic? 0
I looked at his profile, feeling a strange sensation in my heart. 0
His profile was sharp, with a high nose bridge and long, thick eyelashes that resembled two brushes. 0
However, his gaze was very indifferent, like the ice and snow of winter, devoid of any warmth. 0
I couldn't help but shiver. 0
Such a cold gaze. 0
"What are you looking at?" he suddenly asked. 0
"Ah?" I snapped back to reality and quickly averted my gaze. "N-nothing." 0
After saying that, I hurriedly took out my textbook and pretended to study seriously. 0
My heart raced, and my cheeks felt hot. 0
Was I too rude just now? 0
Staring at him like that—would it make him think I'm frivolous? 0
But I really just wanted to take a look at him, without any other thoughts. 0
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down and continued looking at the textbook. 0
But I couldn't focus at all; all I could see were Gaoyuan's cold eyes. 0
I simply laid my head on the desk and went back to sleep. 0
