In the morning, I received my textbooks and was about to head to the classroom when I happened to see the homeroom teacher at the podium. 0

The homeroom teacher was a young woman wearing a white floral dress and black-rimmed glasses, with a gentle smile. 0

"Class, today we have a lovely new student joining us. Please be kind and get along well," she said. Then she looked toward the door and added, "Come in." 0

Holding a textbook, I walked up to the podium and bowed to everyone. 0

"Hello everyone, my name is Li Wan. I hope to get along well with all of you." 0

My voice was clear, with a soft, lingering tone. The boys in the front row couldn't help but blush. 0

The homeroom teacher smiled and pointed to the last row by the window, saying, "Li Wan, you can sit over there." 0

"Okay," I nodded and walked down from the podium. 0

As I passed by, my classmates automatically made way for me. Some looked curious, some excited, while others remained expressionless. 0

When I reached my designated seat, I noticed there was an empty spot next to it. Textbooks were already placed there, indicating that someone usually sat there. 0

I set down my textbook and took a seat. Just then, a gust of wind blew in through the window, causing my pen to roll off the desk. It fell to the floor with a crisp sound. 0

I turned my head to pick up the pen and caught sight of a boy. 0

A boy in a white school uniform. He was leaning against the wall with a relaxed posture. His short black hair framed his distinct facial features, and he had a silver earring in his left ear that sparkled in the sunlight. 0

His eyes were as black as ink, with faint red veins at the bottom, giving off a cool feeling. My heart skipped a beat. 0

The boy stared at me for a few seconds, then bent down to pick up the pen on the floor and handed it to me. "Sorry," he said. 0

I blankly accepted the pen. When I saw the back of his hand, I was stunned. There was a faint scar on it. 0

"What's wrong?" the boy asked. 0

"Nothing... nothing," I quickly lowered my head and opened my textbook. 0

"Pay attention in class," he said. 0

When I looked up again, the boy was already focused on the blackboard. He was very serious during the lesson, his brow slightly furrowed, his eyes fixed on the teacher without blinking. 0

His profile was handsome, with a high nose bridge and a sharp jawline that created a striking outline. However, there was a faint fragrance about him, reminiscent of some kind of fruit—fresh and sweet-sour. I couldn't help but take a few more sniffs. 0

"What are you doing?" he suddenly spoke up. 0

"Nothing, nothing," I quickly sat up straight and opened my notebook. 0

Halfway through the class, the boy suddenly stood up and walked out. I watched him leave the classroom, my gaze falling on the book he had left on the desk. His name was written on it: 0

**Gaoyuan** 0

The handwriting was neat and strong. So his name is Gaoyuan. 0

When Gaoyuan returned, the class was almost over. He sat down, glanced at the blackboard, and quickly took out his notebook to start writing. His handwriting was fast yet beautiful, each stroke sharp and distinct. The bell rang for the end of class. 0

As the Chinese teacher stepped out of the classroom, a group of girls surrounded Gaoyuan's desk. "Gaoyuan, let's play badminton together in gym class this afternoon!" one suggested. "Gaoyuan, I want to go eat fried chicken for lunch today; do you want to join?" another chimed in. "Gaoyuan..." 0

They all spoke at once, trying to win his favor, but Gaoyuan didn't even lift his head. "Go away," he said. 0

"Don't be like that, Gaoyuan; we've been classmates for two years," one girl pouted. 0

Finally, Gaoyuan looked up and frowned, saying, "It's annoying." The girls immediately fell silent. 0

At that moment, my phone vibrated. It was a message from my grandmother. "Li Wan, your aunt said she would take you out for lunch; remember to come home early." I replied with a simple "Okay." 0

Putting my phone away, I continued to review the math problems we would cover in the afternoon. However, when I reached the third problem, I found myself unable to continue because I didn't know how to solve it. 0
