Su Mengman dragged her weary body back home. As soon as she sat down on the sofa, an elderly voice came from behind her: "Did you not have any gains today?"
Su Mengman turned around to see an old woman with white hair; she was Ye Wanwan's biological mother, and thus her mother-in-law. Ever since Su Mengman lost her left hand and right foot, she had been unable to work. Living in the villa owned by Ye Jingzhu, she had to spend money every day hiring a caregiver to take care of herself. The one million she had was simply not enough.
With no other choice, she had to take her mother-in-law out to beg.
Su Mengman shook her head and said, "No, there’s nothing to worry about. Just go to sleep."
"Hmph, Su Mengman, don't forget that you were the one I kicked out. The villa you’re living in still belongs to my daughter," the old woman glared at her fiercely. "Don't get any funny ideas."
"Got it," Su Mengman replied impatiently.
"And..." Before the old woman could finish her sentence, Su Mengman interrupted her, "I know, I know. Just hurry up and go to sleep."
Su Mengman understood that the old woman was only after money. The old woman knew Su Mengman was impatient and didn’t dare provoke her; after all, she was still relying on Su Mengman for support.
Lying on the sofa, Su Mengman grew angrier the more she thought about it. It was all Du Qiaoyun's fault. If it weren't for her instigating, how would she have ended up like this? She had to confront Du Qiaoyun and settle things properly.
The next day, Su Mengman had the caregiver push her wheelchair to Du Qiaoyun's house.
Seeing Su Mengman, Du Qiaoyun frowned deeply. "What are you doing here again?"
"Du Qiaoyun, you made me into what I am now; you need to take responsibility," Su Mengman said defiantly. She felt like she had nothing left to lose and just wanted a stable life.
"What did I make you into?" Du Qiaoyun placed her hands on her hips, anger flaring as soon as she saw Su Mengman.
"If it weren't for you telling me to kill Ye Jingzhu, I wouldn't have been discovered by Shen Xingyu. If he hadn't found me, I wouldn't be in this state," Su Mengman pointed at her severed limbs and declared, "This is all your doing."
"Haha, so what? Are you asking me for money now?" Du Qiaoyun crossed her arms and laughed disdainfully.
"Yes," Su Mengman boldly stated, "I want two million."
"Two million." Du Qiaoyun was taken aback by Su Mengman's audacity in asking for such a large sum. She said fiercely, "Su Mengman, if it weren't for you, our Du Family wouldn't be in this situation either; it's all your fault."
Du Qiaoyun was agitated; she grabbed Su Mengman's collar and shouted loudly, "It's all your fault!"
"Ah, let go of me!" Su Mengman did not expect Du Qiaoyun to lose control of her emotions. She struggled wildly as her cane fell from her hands.
"It's all your fault." Du Qiaoyun pushed Su Mengman to the ground, straddling her and gripping her neck tightly. "It's all you, it's all you."
"Let go of me, let go of me." Su Mengman felt her breath becoming increasingly labored. She spotted a nearby cane, picked it up, and swung it at Du Qiaoyun's head.
"Ah!" Du Qiaoyun was caught off guard by Su Mengman's attack with the cane. A sharp pain shot through her forehead, and she felt something warm trickling down.
She touched it with her hand—blood!
"Ah, Su Mengman, how dare you hit me!" Du Qiaoyun was completely enraged. She grabbed a stone nearby and hurled it at Su Mengman's head.
"Ah!" Su Mengman was struck and bloodied, but she refused to back down. She swung the cane fiercely at Du Qiaoyun.
The two women fought fiercely, completely oblivious to the danger surrounding them.
