In front of the Ruyi Workshop, a girl in a green shirt stood gracefully; she was Bitao, the maid who had come to deliver a thank-you gift alongside Yu Niang that day. Hearing Xing Ruyi call her, Bitao merely nodded lightly in response. "Madam Ru?" Xing Ruyi paused and turned to look at Bitao.

The Empress has shown mercy and spared others; however, our master's household will surely decline. The second master sees that I am clever and honest, so he sent me to serve his concubine—Madam Ru."
Xing Ruyi had little interest in the intrigues of prominent families; what caught her attention was Bitao's tone when mentioning Madam Ru—there was an undercurrent of hatred in her voice, even her enunciation was heavier. After silently calculating in her mind, she understood and simply smiled calmly as she waited for Bitao to finish speaking.
