But no one is answering our questions.
Mina's wedding is tomorrow, and she must be very busy with many things. It wouldn't be appropriate to call her about this, and among the people we know, it seems no one understands her family matters.
This is something I only mentioned to Xiao Minxing, and then I dropped the subject.
When we met Su Qian at the airport, he was with Mina's family of four and Zhuo Feng, while Xiao Minxing and I were with Ye Guang.
Since Ye Guang came to our house, he hasn't returned to the studio, so Su Qian naturally hasn't seen him. Now that he saw him, he came over to greet him.
Due to the harm caused by that fake nanny, Ye Guang's mental state, which had been slowly improving, has now declined again. When he saw Su Qian approaching, he simply lowered his eyelids, avoiding eye contact and not responding.
Miyong shot him a disdainful glance, his face full of contempt.
Xiao Minxing asked Su Qian, "Can you two handle them?"
Su Qian smiled generously and said, "What's the problem? They're all adults; we don't need to take special care of them. They just need to follow along. Don't worry."
After saying that, he led Zhuo Feng and Mina's family toward the ticket gate first.
Xiao Minxing had me walk in front of Ye Guang while he took up the rear.
Fortunately, nothing major happened on the way. On the plane, Miyong tried to cause trouble several times, complaining that we didn't buy him a business class seat and only got him an economy class seat. In his words, we are all rich people who can't even afford a better seat; we're just poor and stingy.
However, Su Qian suppressed all of this. It was my first time seeing his cold side; he showed no mercy to Miyong and said sternly, "If you want to come back alive, behave yourself. Do you think this is your home? You can act however you want?"
Miyong refused to back down and stared at him defiantly.
However, Su Qian must have already given them a lesson before setting off, so he didn't dare to really push back. Naturally, Su Qian wouldn't care about the defiance in his eyes.
The stone in my heart was somewhat set down, but I was still very troubled by Miyong's behavior. In my impulsive moments, I even thought about going over and slapping him twice to vent my frustration, but my hand was held back by Xiao Minxing.
Turning to look at him, he had a calm expression.
"Don't pay attention to him; Su Qian has a way."
Listening to him the whole way made my stomach ache with anger, but at least we arrived safely, which was a relief from Amitabha.
Outside the Hong Kong airport, Mina was there with Longwen to pick us up.
Due to the large crowd, several cars had come.
At that moment, a problem arose.
Miyong ignored us and walked straight up to Mina, asking, "Are you Mina?"
Everyone present, including me, was stunned. Only Mina's parents hurried over and said, "Yes, this is your sister. Why are you being so rude? Call her sister."
Miyong smirked and said, "Why should I call her sister? She hasn't done anything good for me. Now that she's with a wealthy man from Hong Kong, she probably looks down on us even more."
Mina's face turned dark; she bit her lip and was clearly trying hard to endure it.
Su Qian, who was good at reading the situation, quickly walked over and dragged Miyong toward the nearest car.
Longwen also opened the car door for Mina's parents to get in while he followed Mina into the same Car.
I sat in a car with Xiao Minxing and Ye Guang.
Zhuo Feng and Su Qian were in the same car with Miyong and his wife.
On the way, Xiao Minxing called Su Qian: "Take him to another place for now; we need to ask Mina what’s going on."
Su Qian didn’t say much and immediately agreed.
Each of us wanted to know what had happened here, how Miyong didn’t recognize Mina, while the two elders from Mina's family were both afraid of him and doting on him.
The car quickly stopped at the hotel entrance, and everyone got out. Xiao Minxing said, "Why don’t you take Ye Guang back to the room first? I’ll go talk to them."
"I’ll go with you; it’s been a while since I saw Mina, and I want to say a few words to her." I looked at him with pleading eyes.
Xiao Minxing immediately softened his tone: "Alright, I just thought you might get annoyed if you heard too much. If you want to go, then go. Don’t act like I’m mistreating you."
Mina's parents were arranged in one room, and Longwen went to take care of them.
Ye Guang looked visibly happy when he saw him. Before I could react, he rushed over and grabbed Longwen's shirt, saying, "Longwen."
I felt a bit sour inside; it seemed that Longwen was now his friend, and I had been sidelined.
Mina glanced over there and said, "Let’s go; with a good guy like him leading the way, you should feel at ease."
This was a suite in the hotel. Coming out of her parents' room led us into a large living room equipped with various facilities and ample space. Especially those floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view of half of Hong Kong's beautiful scenery.
At that moment, Mina stood there with a slight frown and said, "You’ve worked hard bringing these people over, haven’t you?"
Xiao Minxing didn’t respond, so I went directly to her and took her hand, asking, "What’s going on? How come Miyong doesn’t recognize you?"
Mina pressed her beautiful lips together for a moment before saying, "He didn’t grow up in our family; he just recently recognized us. We haven’t met yet."
I listened in confusion and turned to look at Xiao Minxing.
He stood two steps away from us, his gaze fixed on Mina, not responding, seemingly as indifferent to the matter as I was curious.
"I heard from my mom that he went missing when he was about three or four years old. Who knows what he has been through all these years? Now that he’s back, my parents feel they owe him too much, so they keep accommodating him, but he just takes it further."
She glanced at us and said, "Sit down; this is a long story."
Xiao Minxing and I remained standing, and Mina looked at us with a smile.
That smile was mostly bitter, lacking even a hint of joy that a bride should have. It made me feel that her situation wasn't solely because of Miyong; it might also be related to the Dragon Family and Longwen.
However, before we could ask, she spoke up: "Last time I went back, I actually wanted to see him, but time was too tight, so I couldn’t. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be here today."
I hoped that Miyong wouldn’t come either, but now that he was here, I couldn’t just add to her troubles. I comforted her, saying, "It’s fine; Su Qian can handle it. I think Miyong is still a bit afraid of him."
Mina forced a smile and said, "I’m not worried about him causing trouble here; it’s just that my parents’ lives will never be peaceful again."
Who could argue with that? Having such a son around would tire them out. But what could they do? They carried their own guilt; even if someone could take Miyong away, they probably wouldn’t agree.
This situation felt like a deadlock. I couldn’t think of a way to resolve it and could only look at Mina and ask, "How are you doing? You’re getting married tomorrow; are you feeling okay?"
