What the hell is going on? My ex-boyfriend is bragging in front of my current boyfriend about how well he's been doing since leaving Mina and how much weight he's gained. Is he out of his mind?
I didn't even drink a sip of water; I made an excuse to walk away and called Mina.
She said she was almost there and asked me to wait a little longer.
"Where are you? Just park and wait for me; don't come over," I shouted anxiously.
Mina asked from the other end, "What's wrong? Didn't we agree on this location? I'm just a few minutes away; can't you forgive me?"
I didn't want to argue with her, so I said directly, "Zhuo Feng is here too, and Longwen. You didn't give me a heads-up; what's going on?"
To my surprise, Mina replied, "I invited them. It's fine; you don't need to worry. I called them for a reason. I wanted you to come over because I was afraid I'd get too drunk to go back."
Wow, this clearly sounds like she's planning something big. I almost didn't dare to respond.
But since Mina arranged this gathering, she must have her own agenda. I didn't want to stop her, no matter what she was doing. However, just in case, I still called Xiao Minxing.
After quietly listening to me finish, he ended the call with one sentence: "Okay, call me when they’re all too drunk to walk."
"Wait, aren't you coming to check it out? What if things get out of hand?" I shouted anxiously.
But that Good Fellow didn't take it seriously at all and hung up the phone immediately.
I wanted to yell at him again, but Mina had already appeared in her high heels.
She was wearing a light-colored fitted autumn outfit, with a shawl in a slightly lighter shade draped over her shoulders. Her hair was still curly, but today it looked particularly beautiful.
Mina's temperament already carried a hint of exotic charm, and now dressed like this, she radiated the unique allure of youth while subtly hinting at mature femininity. Even I, as a woman, was nearly drooling at the sight.
People passing by were drawn to her, so much so that they bumped into each other without realizing it.
Mina smiled and said, "So, how do I look? Still good?"
I immediately went over and linked my arm with hers, saying, "Where do you still look good? You're practically trying to create a scene of chaos. Just look at those few moments earlier; several people have already bumped into walls."
Mina raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "Really? Let me see."
As soon as the beautiful woman turned around, a chorus of gasps and collision sounds erupted behind her.
And this stunning woman seemed unsatisfied; she paused for a moment, smiled at them, and then walked toward Longwen's table.
Undoubtedly, the men at the table were captivated, especially Zhuo Feng. He might have seen Mina in her professional demeanor—capable and sharp—but suddenly seeing her in this new style and charm as a graceful beauty was visually striking. He stared at her in a daze, not even reacting when Mina greeted him.
Longwen shifted his gaze from Mina to Zhuo Feng, seemingly casually glancing at him before getting up to order a drink for Mina.
I watched Mina sitting across from me, caught between Zhuo Feng and Longwen, utterly confused and unable to figure out what this woman was up to.
She remained calm and composed, glancing at the two men before lightly asking, "You all know each other, right?"
Longwen spoke up, "It's Zhuo Feng's boss, Zhuo Feng."
Zhuo Feng looked at him and simply replied, "What do you call yourself?"
At this point, I was completely confused. What was going on? When we arrived, Longwen had directly brought us to this table. I thought they were already acquainted with Zhuo Feng. I hadn't thought much of it at the time; I was just focused on greeting Zhuo Feng and didn't make any introductions. Who would have guessed that this was their first meeting and they didn't even know each other's names?
I glanced at Mina again. She was swaying her drink in her glass, acting as if we were all invisible, as if she were the only one present in this place, a beautiful woman attracting countless gazes around her.
Longwen reached across the table towards Zhuo Feng and said, "Hello, Zhuo Feng. My surname is Long, and my given name is Wen. I'm Mina's boyfriend."
Upon hearing this, Mina's lips twitched slightly but quickly returned to normal. With an expressionless face, she said, "Well then, since we know each other, let's start eating."
I was sweating in my palms and didn't dare to speak, my eyes scanning each person's face.
Zhuo Feng's initial sense of superiority vanished the moment he saw Mina. From then on, his gaze seemed fixated on her as if there were a problem with his eyes; he followed every small movement she made. He even tried to help her with food or pass her a napkin from time to time.
However, Longwen didn't give him a chance and took care of Mina like a queen; he knew exactly what she needed with just a glance.
I could only do my best to take care of Ye Guang. Fortunately, he was the easiest to manage; he neither participated in the table's dynamics nor ate much. He quietly sat there eating his own food and even wiped his mouth carefully after finishing.
The two men over there seemed to have no appetite at all because I didn't see them putting any food in their mouths. Instead, Mina leisurely chewed and savored quite a bit.
After dinner, the girl said, "It's been a long time since we've gathered like this. There's a nice bar nearby; let's go have a drink."
My instinct was to leave quickly, but I gave Mina a few glances, and she didn't look my way at all, heading straight into the bar.
Zhuo Feng and Longwen were like two bodyguards, closely following her.
I could only grab them and say, "I'm not going. Ye Guang can't drink; I'll take him home first."
Mina immediately came over, took my hand, and acted cute, "Anan, come on, this is the bar we used to visit often. It's hard to see you now; we finally gathered tonight. Let's just have one drink."
If I weren't afraid of those two men over there beating me up, I really wanted to give her a smack.
When did I ever frequently go to bars with her? Plus, she had called earlier saying she might drink too much tonight; now she claims it's just one drink? Running to a place like a bar with two heavily armed men beside her, and she tells me it's just one drink? Who would believe her?
Moreover, it really wasn't appropriate for Ye Guang to be in such a place. I was anxious and called Xiao Minxing again.
I don't know what he was busy with; it rang for a long time without anyone picking up.
My legs felt as heavy as if they were tied down with a thousand-pound weight, unable to move at all, while the three of them quickly reached the entrance of the bar, with Ye Guang caught in the middle.
This situation was really bad. If Xiao Minxing couldn't come, I'd have to find Su Qian; at least he was Zhuo Feng's friend and smart enough to have a solution.
