Pei Chenyi chuckled softly beside me, "I didn't expect you to be so easily bought off."
I shot him a glare, "I'm doing this for work."
Pei Chenyi laughed, "Who are you trying to convince? No one believes that."
I huffed lightly and chose to ignore him.
Manager Qin smiled again, "Alright, you two head back now. Remember not to eat spicy food; we have filming tomorrow."
I nodded, "Got it. Goodbye, Manager Qin."
Pei Chenyi waved his hand and winked at me, saying, "Let's go, Miss Li."
I shot him a glare. "Don't push your luck."
Pei Chenyi smiled, "I'm doing this for work."
I was speechless; this guy really knew how to turn things around.
As soon as I stepped outside, I couldn't help but glare at Pei Chenyi.
"Look at what you've done."
Pei Chenyi blinked innocently, "What did I do?"
I huffed, "Don't think I don't know; you must have recommended me to Manager Qin."
Pei Chenyi chuckled, "Why would you think that?"
I snorted, "Because you're afraid I'll reject you, so you went ahead and made the decision without me."
Pei Chenyi sighed with a smile, "You're misunderstanding me; I didn't mean it that way."
I shot him a look. "It better be that way."
Pei Chenyi laughed lightly, "Honestly, don't overthink it. It's just a promotional video; you won't even be on camera. What are you worried about?"
I paused for a moment, realizing he was right. It was just a promotional video, and with a mask on, who could recognize me?
"Alright then, I'll trust you this once."
Back at the makeup counter, Li Wen couldn't help but ask, "What did Manager Qin want with you?"
I sighed helplessly and replied, "Manager Qin wants me to shoot a promotional video for the collaboration between Estee and Hena with Pei Chenyi."
Li Wen was taken aback for a moment. "Why did they choose you?"
I shook my head. "I don't know; maybe they think I have a good image."
Li Wen chuckled softly, "Isn't it going to be awkward working with Pei Chenyi?"
I sighed again. "Who says it won't be?"
Li Wen patted my shoulder and comforted me, saying, "It's really nothing much, just a promotional video. Once it's done, it's over."
I sighed softly, "I hope so."
After work, I got into a taxi with Pei Chenyi.
Pei Chenyi glanced at the script in my hand and couldn't help but tease, "How's your memorization going?"
I sighed again, "Not well at all."
Pei Chenyi thought for a moment and said, "I have a good idea."
I was slightly taken aback, "What good idea?"
Pei Chenyi blinked, "Do you want to know?"
I huffed lightly, "You can say it or not."
Pei Chenyi smiled, "Kiss me and I'll tell you."
I rolled my eyes, "Dream on."
Pei Chenyi chuckled helplessly, "Then you might have to stay up late tonight."
I shot him a glare, "That's none of your business."
Pei Chenyi shrugged and fell silent.
The car stopped at the entrance of the community. I waved goodbye to Pei Chenyi and turned to get out.
But Pei Chenyi suddenly grabbed my arm and handed me a bag.
"What is this?"
Pei Chenyi blinked again, "Red Velvet Cream. Put some on tonight, and your skin will be better tomorrow."
I frowned in disdain, "Who wants your stuff?"
Pei Chenyi laughed, "Don't underestimate it; many female celebrities are eager to use it."
I thought for a moment and decided to take it, "Alright then, I'll accept it."
Pei Chenyi smiled in satisfaction, "Good girl."
I rolled my eyes again and got out of the car.
