In an extremely high-tech and low-sensory future society, a towering metropolis stands. Skyscrapers resemble giant glass candlesticks, soaring into the clouds, composed of advanced smart composite materials and liquid crystal glass. These materials have the ability to automatically adjust light and temperature, ensuring that everyone living or working within can enjoy the best indoor environment. On the streets, subways and driverless vehicles run smoothly, with no possibility of traffic jams or accidents. The sidewalks on either side of the street are spotlessly clean, as if they have just been carefully disinfected. 0

Pedestrians are all dressed in minimalist clothing, made of soft and highly breathable synthetic fibers. Wherever they go, they appear calm and focused, like precisely operating machines. However, despite everything appearing harmonious, there is always an indescribable tension lingering in the air. People lack genuine eye contact and spiritual communication with each other, as if living in a massive social experiment, where everyone is both an observer and the observed. 0

Neil sat in the lobby of The Eye of the Philosopher, dressed in the official gray uniform embroidered with the organization's logo. His heart was beating a little faster, but he exerted control over his breathing, trying to stay calm. His gaze occasionally swept over the futuristic architecture of the hall. The interior was extremely modern, with a strong futuristic design style. The clean white marble floor contrasted sharply with the stainless steel and glass walls, all illuminated by soft natural light. On the wall, a large screen played the history and achievements of The Eye of the Philosopher, seemingly inadvertently revealing the noble mission of this mysterious organization. 0

"Neil, you may come in now, sir," said a robot secretary, humanoid in appearance but with a mechanical indifference in its eyes, as it emerged from an automatic door. Its voice was calm and unfeeling, yet somehow elicited a wry smile. Neil took a deep breath, as if drawing courage and strength, then stood up. He followed the robot through another door into an elegantly decorated interview room, filled with a scholarly atmosphere. The room seemed more personalized, with classical art and modern technology combined on the walls, expressing a profound philosophical concept. 0

Neil knows that this moment will be a turning point in his life, as he is about to open a door to an unknown world. But before that, he must pass this test to prove himself worthy of being a part of The Eye of the Philosopher. His heart is filled with anticipation and nervousness, but more than anything, there is an indescribable excitement, like standing at the starting point of an adventure, waiting for the arrival of all the beauty and challenges the future holds. 0

Taking a deep breath, he adjusts his uniform slightly and slowly stands up. His heart beats a little faster, but he tries to remain calm, just as he has learned in his psychological regulation techniques. He follows the robot secretary through an automatic door unlocked by fingerprint and iris scanning, and enters an elegantly decorated, solemn interview room. 0

The interior design of this room has a different tone from the lobby. Wooden furniture and a strong scent of books replace stainless steel and marble, perhaps to focus more on internal thinking and dialogue. A painting hangs on the wall, depicting an apparatus that seems to be "The Eye of the Philosopher" used to observe the "Multiverse," concretely presenting the organization's core mission. 0

Neil carefully examines Macol in front of her. Her office is simple and elegant, with various scientific awards and highly abstract art pieces on the wall. Everything appears highly scientific, perfectly matching Macol's personality. 0

"Please have a seat, Neil," Macol pointed to the chair in front of him, his tone calm but with an undeniable authority. 0

"Thank you, Manager Macol," Neil sat down cautiously, feeling a bit nervous. 0

Macol opened his mouth, "I have reviewed your file, and it's excellent. However, adding The Eye of the Philosopher is not just about having a high level of knowledge and analytical ability. I need to make sure that you understand our mission and concepts." Her gaze was like a beam of light piercing through the darkness, directly into Neil's heart. 0

"I think I understand, Macol manager. Our mission is to observe the Multiverse and identify universal laws and specific phenomena within it," Neil replied. 0

Macol nodded slightly, "What do you think about parallel worlds? What is their purpose of existence?" 0

Neil pondered for a moment, "Parallel worlds are a manifestation of the diversity of the universe. Each world symbolizes possibilities and opportunities. They may have different physical laws, social structures, and even completely different life forms." 0

"Exactly, these universes may have different physical laws, different flow of time, and even different modes of existence. Our goal is to integrate these observations to obtain a more comprehensive, higher-dimensional model of the universe." Macol nodded as he responded. 0

"So, how will the results of the observations be applied?" Neil asked next. 0

Macol smiled and said, "Application? The Eye of the Philosopher is not an organization that pursues practicality. What we seek is truth. Of course, this data will be stored in our database for future research use. But we do not seek specific practical applications." 0

Neil couldn't help but be surprised; this was different from what he had expected. He had thought that The Eye of the Philosopher would have more specific purposes, such as social reform or technological innovation. 0

Macol continued, "If you successfully join us, you will undergo strict training to learn how to use cutting-edge Multiverse observation equipment. But more importantly, you need to have rigorous logical thinking to identify patterns in massive amounts of data." 0

Neil felt a surge of excitement, as this was exactly what he had been pursuing. "I understand, Macol, I will work hard to live up to expectations." 0

"Very good, you have a basic understanding of the concept. But you must understand that our work is not just academic research. This is the forefront of seeking truth, and it must adhere to strict scientific standards and ethical principles," Macol added sharply. 0

"I understand, Manager Macol," Neil nodded in response. 0

"Do you have any questions?" 0

Neil thought for a moment, "Well, if we discover that a parallel world has the potential to cause catastrophic consequences, should we intervene?" 0

Macol smiled and said, "This is exactly why we need extremely rigorous ethical principles. Generally speaking, our mission is to observe, not to intervene. Interference can not only lead to unknown consequences, but also violate our role as scientists." 0

Macol then nodded slightly and said, "Very well. Your interview ends here, and you will receive our response in three days." 0

Neil stood up, with a deeper understanding of the purpose and scale of The Eye of the Philosopher in his heart, and at the same time, he was more certain that this was the place he wanted to devote himself to. 0

This is just the beginning, and more challenges and problems await him ahead. But at least, he is ready to face them. 0
