Chapter 57: Negative First Floor 0

Running down the stairs, Mr. Zhu followed me, and I couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration for him. After all, this big boss was willing to risk his life to accompany me to the Negative First Floor. Earlier, when he followed me to the Fourteenth Floor, it was clear that he was afraid to be alone up there. Now, he could easily escape Great Xia, yet he chose to stay with me, showing that he had some loyalty and didn't abandon me. 0

As soon as we arrived at the Negative First Floor, I felt that the Yin Qi here was even denser than on the Fourteenth Floor. If you ask me how dense it is, I would tell you that the Yin Qi is so heavy it has condensed into fog. 0

The Negative First Floor is an enormous underground parking lot. With my flashlight, I couldn't see a single wall; the vast parking area was filled only with cold Cement Pillars. The entire space was shrouded in mist, and shining my flashlight felt like peering into an endless abyss. 0

I found it strange that the parking lot was filled with Cement Pillars as far as the eye could see. Was there really no wall to divide the areas? 0

I voiced my confusion to Mr. Zhu, who explained that this Negative First Floor only had walls around the perimeter; inside, there were no walls at all—just these pillars used to support the building. 0

I frowned, feeling dizzy from the overwhelming sight of so many Cement Pillars or perhaps from the swirling Yin Qi. After a while, it seemed like those pillars were swaying, making me feel lightheaded. 0

Mr. Zhu asked me, "Sir, do you think there's something wrong with the design here?" 0

I replied, "I'm not sure if there's anything wrong per se; it just feels a bit disorienting and makes it hard to tell directions." 0

Mr. Zhu said, "This building was designed by a Feng Shui Master who claimed it would bring prosperity." 0

I asked him what that Feng Shui Master had said initially. Although I couldn't see any immediate issues with the Feng Shui of this building, it was clear that after its completion, there had been continuous hauntings—something must be amiss. 0

Mr. Zhu thought for a moment and then told me that before construction began, the Feng Shui Master had said this location had excellent Feng Shui and promised that if he designed it, prosperity would follow. 0

I pondered this; while the Feng Shui wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't top-tier either. It was evident that Mr. Zhu had been deceived by that Feng Shui Master. However, I didn't want to meddle too much in his affairs and simply asked if he had considered calling that Feng Shui Master to investigate why there were hauntings. 0

Mr. Zhu sighed and said he had wanted to call that Feng Shui Master long ago to find out why people were dying in the building, but that master had vanished without a trace and could not be found. 0

I found it odd and asked if that Feng Shui Master wasn't a local or if he didn't have a permanent residence. 0

Mr. Zhu said that the Feng Shui Master was a local who lived in this area before the building was constructed; he bought the land to build the building. As for where that Feng Shui Master has moved now, he really didn't know. 0

I frowned and didn't ask him any further questions. I just felt uncomfortable with the design of the first floor, but I couldn't pinpoint what was wrong. I hoped it was just my imagination. 0

Now we had also come down to the Negative First Floor, but there was no sign of the security guard, Zhang. If he had gotten dizzy and lost his way among the pillars, that would be one thing; but if he had truly been possessed by a ghost, then it could be dangerous. 0

Thinking of this, I stopped inquiring about the Feng Shui Master from Mr. Zhu and turned to shout for the security guard, Zhang Lao, in the empty parking lot. 0

The parking lot was large, and my voice echoed loudly, but there was no response from Zhang Lao. Worried, I asked Mr. Zhu to call Zhang Lao's phone again to see where he was. 0

Soon, the call connected. Mr. Zhu asked where he was, and Zhang Lao said he was still on the Negative First Floor but couldn't find the stairs to go up or see the elevator. 0

I shone my flashlight in several directions ahead and asked Zhang Lao if he could see our flashlight beam. After a while, Zhang Lao surprisingly said he couldn't see any flashlight light, and we couldn't see his flashlight light either. With no other choice, we had to move forward, hoping to find him soon. 0

As soon as I stepped into the grove of Cement Pillars on the Negative First Floor, I felt something was off, but I couldn't recall what it was. 0

With a strong sense of crisis in my heart, I began to carefully observe this area of Cement Pillars on the Negative First Floor. 0

Previously, when looking from the staircase entrance, I only felt that these Cement Pillars were standing tall and numerous. But now that I was among them, I realized that these pillars seemed to follow a similar pattern; they weren't arranged in straight lines but rather in a complex distribution. One pillar stood in front, another behind, one on the left, and one on the right—this repetitive pattern surrounded me. I couldn't see whether the more distant pillars followed this pattern because they were obscured by swirling mist. 0

Why does this look like some kind of formation? The mystery in my heart deepened, but I just couldn't grasp its key. 0

If I couldn't understand it, then I wouldn't think about it; after all, my purpose was just to find someone—everything else strange had nothing to do with me. 0

We walked straight ahead; however, as we progressed further, the fog grew thicker. I didn't understand why there was such heavy Yin Qi here. 0

This Negative First Floor truly harbored many ghosts. In less than three or four minutes of walking, we encountered that little girl who had been playing hide-and-seek with us. Fortunately, she didn't come looking for trouble; she just looked quite frightening. Although she wasn't walking upside down this time, her head appeared flat like a slab—very terrifying. She swayed as she walked around the pillars as if she had lost her soul; upon seeing us, she immediately slipped behind a pillar and disappeared. 0

Mr. Zhu asked me if that little girl was still playing hide-and-seek with us. 0

I smiled wryly; as long as she didn't come looking for trouble with us, whether she wanted to play hide-and-seek or not didn't concern me at all. 0

Walking in this thick fog, it was impossible to walk in a straight line. As I walked, a Cement Pillar appeared in the gray mist, and I accidentally bumped my head against it. After that, I had to go around the Cement Pillar to continue moving forward. This caused us a lot of trouble, and eventually, our eyes became blurry, filled with a gray haze. 0

We continued to walk forward blindly, repeatedly calling out the name of the security guard. Suddenly, I felt something was off; I realized we were lost! 0

According to Mr. Zhu, it should take about three minutes to walk from the entrance to the end on the opposite side, but I had already walked for more than four or five minutes. Not only had I not reached the end, but I couldn't even see the shadow of the wall at the end; all I could see was a gray blur. 0

Could it be that we were caught in a ghost wall? We had been walking straight ahead! Unable to figure it out, we kept moving forward, determined that if we walked another foot, the ground would surely extend another foot. 0

What appeared before us were still tree stumps in front and behind, left and right. Occasionally, we would catch glimpses of ghosts trapped in the building. In less than ten minutes, we encountered all the ghosts that had died in this building: a little girl, a woman who had hanged herself, a master, and a woman who had fallen from an elevator, covered in blood and very frightening. Of course, there was also Old Li, the security guard who had previously given us keys. 0

They all gathered on the first floor, swaying around the Cement Pillar. When they encountered us, they quickly slipped away and did not trouble us. 0

So we continued walking; occasionally a pillar would suddenly appear and hit my head, or a ghost would pop up and scare me back three steps. Our hearts were constantly racing with fear. 0

After walking for another seven or eight minutes, I looked up ahead and still saw nothing but gray mist. It seemed like we were stuck in the center of this parking lot, unable to move forward even an inch. 0

Now I was really panicking; I knew we must have gotten lost because otherwise we would have reached the end by now. 0

Ghost wall! Could it be that we really encountered a ghost wall? However, ghost walls were child's play for me. After thinking for a moment, I picked up a small stone from the Ground and carved a line on the Cement Pillar in front of me. Then I continued walking and carved another line on the next Cement Pillar. 0

After walking like this for over ten minutes, we still hadn't reached the end. I squatted down to look at the pillar and suddenly felt a chill run down my spine from head to toe. 0
