Xu Jing did not expect Zhou Qi to come to Yun City. Ever since Zhou Wenguang's affair was exposed, Xu Jing had not seen Zhou Qi again. She originally thought he would never appear in her life again, but unexpectedly, he actually came to Yun City.
Suppressing the doubts in her heart, Xu Jing turned to her colleague and smiled, "You should hurry back; otherwise, it will be too late." Her colleague hesitated a bit.
Zhou Qi suddenly spoke up, "I'll give her a ride; you can go back."
Her colleague: "..."
Xu Jing: "..."
After her colleague left, Xu Jing asked Zhou Qi, "What brings you here?"
Zhou Qi opened the car door and said, "Get in the car first."
Xu Jing shook her head, "No need; my home is nearby. I can walk a few steps."
Zhou Qi stared at her for a while before slowly looking away, "Then you can go."
Xu Jing: "..."
This guy really let her leave.
Xu Jing couldn't help but roll her eyes, "Aren't you going to treat me to a meal?"
Zhou Qi raised an eyebrow, "What do you want to eat?"
"Anything."
"Then let's have rice noodles."
Xu Jing nodded, "Alright."
Zhou Qi parked the car and led Xu Jing into a Rice Noodle Shop. This place was near Xu Jing's company, and she used to come here often with colleagues; it was quite popular.
Sitting across from each other, the atmosphere felt a bit awkward.
Zhou Qi looked around, "This place seems pretty nice."
"Yeah, the food is quite good."
Zhou Qi asked, "Are you working here?"
Xu Jing nodded, "Yes."
Zhou Qi remained silent.
Xu Jing looked up, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Zhou Qi pressed his lips together and didn't respond.
Xu Jing sighed lightly, "What are you doing here?"
"On a business trip."
"Oh."
Another silence fell between them.
Zhou Qi remained quiet.
Xu Jing also stayed silent.
Zhou Qi asked, "Are you doing well now?"
Xu Jing smiled, "Pretty good."
Zhou Qi frowned, "Pretty good?"
Xu Jing shrugged, "Well, no matter where I am, I always say I'm doing pretty good."
Zhou Qi was taken aback.
He stared at Xu Jing, his gaze gradually deepening.
Xu Jing felt a bit uncomfortable under his stare and touched her face, "What's wrong?"
Zhou Qi shook his head, "Nothing."
Xu Jing remained silent.
At that moment, the waiter brought the rice noodles to the table.
Zhou Qi picked up his chopsticks and had just taken a couple of bites when he suddenly winced.
Xu Jing looked up at him, "What happened?"
"Nothing."
Xu Jing eyed him suspiciously.
Zhou Qi's right hand clenched into a fist, trembling slightly.
Xu Jing immediately sensed something was wrong and grabbed his hand. "Did you burn yourself?"
Zhou Qi retracted his hand. "I'm fine."
Without giving him a chance to argue, Xu Jing pulled him toward the bathroom.
The bathroom was small, and the two of them stood inside, almost pressed against each other.
Xu Jing turned on the faucet and placed Zhou Qi's hand under the running water.
Zhou Qi looked down at her, his throat slightly moving.
Xu Jing didn’t look at him; she focused intently on the faucet, constantly adjusting the angle to ensure the water flowed over the wound.
Zhou Qi's breathing became heated.
Suddenly, Xu Jing lifted her head.
Their eyes met, and it felt as if sparks were flying in the air.
Zhou Qi slowly lowered his head and gently kissed her lips.
Xu Jing closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Zhou Qi pressed her against the wall, deepening the kiss.
Xu Jing's breathing became rapid, and her body gradually grew weak.
Zhou Qi held her waist tightly, pressing her against himself.
Xu Jing opened her eyes, glared at him, then raised her hand—
Smack!
Zhou Qi was stunned.
He stared at Xu Jing in disbelief. "Did you hit me?"
Xu Jing replied coldly, "Don't touch me."
Zhou Qi gritted his teeth. "Xu Jing—"
Xu Jing fixed her gaze on him. "Get out."
Zhou Qi laughed in anger. "Alright, Xu Jing, you’ve got guts."
