As the school year approached, Lin Wan took time every day to prepare her lessons. Her best friend, Zhou Wen, shared the news that she had a boyfriend, igniting Lin Wan's curiosity.
"Come on, tell me what happened!" Lin Wan eagerly pressed.
"Alright," Zhou Wen replied, "Tomorrow night I'll treat you and your boyfriend to dinner."
"Wow, is that for real?" Lin Wan exclaimed excitedly.
"Of course it's real!" Zhou Wen responded. "I'll introduce you then."
Lin Wan was so thrilled she almost jumped up. Zhou Wen was her closest friend, and she had always hoped for Zhou Wen to find happiness. Now that she had finally met someone she liked, Lin Wan was genuinely happy for her.

Chen Wu had been very busy lately. The car dealership had recently received several new cars, and he spent every day at the dealership with Liu Kai, studying the configurations of the new models.
"Hey, buddy, can I ask you something?" Liu Kai suddenly leaned in with a curious expression.
"What is it?" Chen Wu glanced at him.
"You mentioned the other day that there was a girl you liked in high school..." Liu Kai stroked his chin, "Who was it?"

"Because we're good friends!" Liu Kai patted his shoulder. "Don't worry; I promise I won't tell anyone."
Chen Wu looked at him for a while and finally said, "The reason I'm not telling you is that I don't want to hurt you."
Liu Kai was stunned.
"What do you mean?" he asked, bewildered.
Chen Wu patted his shoulder and turned to leave.

Lin Wan's nephew, Qiu Qiu, is six years old this year. The little guy is smart and adorable. Today is Saturday, and Lin Wan's family went to a restaurant with Chen Wu to attend Qiu Qiu's birthday party. Lin Wan's older sister and brother-in-law arrived early and were greeting guests in the hall.
"Big Sister," Lin Wan walked over to greet her.
"Ah, Xiao Yuan is here," her sister smiled and pulled her over. "Is this Xiao Chen?"
Chen Wu nodded slightly, "Big Sister."
"Oh my, this young man looks really energetic!" her sister said with a smile as she looked Chen Wu up and down. "Xiao Yuan, you are lucky."
Lin Wan smiled shyly.
"Great-Uncle, Great-Aunt," Qiu Qiu said, dressed in a small suit with a bow tie, looking like a little adult.
"Oh my, our Qiu Qiu is so handsome!" Lin Wan patted his head.
"Great-Aunt, this is the gift I prepared for you," Qiu Qiu handed over a box.
"Thank you, Qiu Qiu," Lin Wan accepted the gift and smiled as she patted his head.
"Great-Aunt, I'm going to perform an ancient poem today," Qiu Qiu said proudly, puffing out his chest.
"Really?" Lin Wan looked at him in surprise. "Qiu Qiu is amazing!"
"Of course!" Qiu Qiu was even prouder.
"Alright, you all chat; we need to greet the guests," her sister said with a smile as she patted Lin Wan's shoulder and walked away with her brother-in-law.
"Great-Uncle, Great-Aunt, I'm going to prepare now," Qiu Qiu waved at them and hopped away.
Lin Wan shook her head with a smile and entered the private room with her parents and Chen Wu. Inside the room were already a few people: Lin Wan's grandparents and Second Aunt's family.
"Xiao Yuan is here," Second Aunt greeted with a smile.
"Second Aunt," Lin Wan replied cheerfully.
"This is Xiao Chen, right?" Second Aunt looked at Chen Wu.
"Second Aunt," Chen Wu politely greeted her.
"Oh my, this young man looks really energetic," Second Aunt praised with a smile.
Lin Wan smiled and sat down with her parents and Chen Wu. The atmosphere at the table was harmonious as everyone chatted, drank tea, and waited for the banquet to begin. The banquet soon started.
First, the host took the stage and briefly introduced today's agenda. Then, the eldest sister and her husband brought Qiu Qiu on stage to express their gratitude to everyone.
Qiu Qiu was clearly dressed up for the occasion, wearing a small suit with a bow tie, and his hair was neatly styled, resembling a little prince. The little guy showed no signs of shyness at all; he sweetly recited the ancient poem "Quiet Night Thoughts," earning thunderous applause from the audience.
The crowd erupted in applause, and Lin Wan couldn't help but join in. "Our Qiu Qiu learns so quickly, all thanks to Great-Aunt's excellent teaching," the eldest sister said with a smile as she looked at Lin Wan.
Lin Wan smiled shyly in response.
"Great-Aunt," Qiu Qiu suddenly turned to her, "You once said you wanted to learn how to play basketball; do you still have that idea?"
Lin Wan was taken aback. It seemed she had indeed said that before. Back when she had just started her Freshman Year, she would occasionally watch basketball games. She thought the boys who played basketball were particularly handsome, especially at the moment they shot the ball; it was simply mesmerizing.
One day, while she was daydreaming about the boys on the court, her eldest sister jokingly asked if she wanted to learn basketball. She had casually replied that she did want to but had no one to teach her. She never expected that after all these years, her sister would still remember it.
"Great-Aunt, let me help you find someone to teach you!" Qiu Qiu added eagerly.
"Cough cough..." Lin Wan almost choked on her saliva. This little guy was really...
She instinctively glanced at Chen Wu, only to find him staring at her with deep eyes.
"I... I was just joking," she quickly explained.
However, Chen Wu slowly curled his lips into a smile.
At that moment, Lin Wan felt an ominous sensation creeping in.
