Li Yanqiu was not wearing her police uniform today; instead, she wore a black T-shirt paired with light gray jeans and black sneakers. Her long hair was tied up, giving her a fresh and elegant appearance.
"Officer Li, you look beautiful today!" Yan Jien complimented.
"Thank you!" Li Yanqiu smiled as she sat in the passenger seat. "Mr. Yan, my house is in Jubao Huayuan Phase One, Building 2, Apartment 1802!"
"Building 2, Apartment 1802?" Yan Jien was surprised.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
"That's quite a coincidence!" Yan Jien exclaimed. Part of the reason he wanted to move was to avoid Li Yanqiu's gaze, but he didn't expect her to move right across from him.
"Yes, I think it's quite a coincidence too!" Li Yanqiu smiled. "Mr. Yan, is there a problem?"
"No!" Yan Jien shook his head. "We are very familiar with this layout; we have studied the design plans before!"
"Really? That's great!" Li Yanqiu was pleased.
"I'll make a call first!" Yan Jien said as he took out his phone and dialed the draftsman's number, asking him to measure the dimensions of the house and take photos.
"Officer Li, what style do you want for your decoration?" Yan Jien looked at Li Yanqiu.
"I'm not very knowledgeable about decoration. What style do you think is good, Mr. Yan?" Li Yanqiu replied.
"Officer Li, do you live alone?" Yan Jien asked.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
"In that case, I suggest you go for a modern minimalist style; it will make the space feel larger!" Yan Jien proposed.
"Alright, you can decide!" Li Yanqiu agreed.
"Officer Li, let's go check out the house!" Yan Jien suggested.
"Okay!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
The two got out of the car and walked into the community together, taking the elevator to the 18th floor. The draftsman was already waiting inside the house.
"Mr. Yan!" the draftsman greeted.
"Yeah, you get busy; I'll show Officer Li around!" Yan Jien nodded.
"Okay!" the artist replied.
"Officer Li, let's go!" Yan Jien called out.
"Sure!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
The two left the house and walked along the corridor to the balcony.
"Mr. Yan, I want to ask you something!" Li Yanqiu looked at Yan Jien.
"What is it?" Yan Jien asked, puzzled.
"Why did you treat a rabbit that way?" Li Yanqiu stared at Yan Jien, "And what were you doing out at two or three in the morning?"
"Officer Li, your question is a bit strange!" Yan Jien frowned.
"I'm strange?" Li Yanqiu scoffed, "Mr. Yan, I have a friend who works at West Lake Park. He said he has seen you bringing a rabbit to West Lake Park every weekend for the past month, and then just leaving it there in the park while you walked away!"
"I sometimes have a lot of work stress and insomnia; I just go out to get some fresh air!" Yan Jien explained.
"Fresh air?" Li Yanqiu scoffed again, "Mr. Yan, do you realize that your behavior might scare others?"
"I scare others?" Yan Jien was taken aback.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu nodded, "Mr. Yan, I'll be honest with you; Zhou Yanping is my friend, and she often praises you for being nice, even better than your brother Deng!"
"I..." Yan Jien was at a loss for words.
"Mr. Yan, I know you're not an ordinary person, but I hope you won't do anything bad!" Li Yanqiu said seriously.
"Officer Li, you're overthinking this!" Yan Jien forced a smile.
"Maybe," Li Yanqiu sighed.
"Officer Li, do you have any other questions?" Yan Jien asked.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
"Go ahead," Yan Jien prompted.
"Mr. Yan, did you come to West Lake Park last Friday night?" Li Yanqiu fixed his gaze on Yan Jien.
"Last Friday?" Yan Jien frowned.
"Yes!" Li Yanqiu confirmed with a nod.
"I... I don't remember!" Yan Jien hesitated.
"Mr. Yan, I checked the surveillance around West Lake Park and saw a person, bare-chested and wet, coming out of the west gate. His pants were torn, as if he had gotten into a fight!" Li Yanqiu said solemnly.
"Officer Li, that person is not me!" Yan Jien denied.
"Are you sure it's not you?" Li Yanqiu stared at Yan Jien.
"I'm really not!" Yan Jien shook his head.
"Then maybe I recognized the wrong person!" Li Yanqiu sighed.
"Officer Li, do you have anything else to discuss?" Yan Jien asked.
"Mr. Yan, how much did it cost to renovate this house?" Li Yanqiu inquired.
"This apartment is 105 square meters. According to a modern minimalist style, the hard decoration costs about 150,000, and the soft decoration about 50,000, totaling around 200,000!" Yan Jien replied.
"200,000?" Li Yanqiu was surprised.
"Yes!" Yan Jien nodded.
"That's quite expensive!" Li Yanqiu frowned.
"Officer Li, you get what you pay for. Our price is definitely worth it!" Yan Jien assured him.
"Mr. Yan, what brands of materials did you use?" Li Yanqiu asked.
"We only use well-known domestic brands; the quality is absolutely guaranteed!" Yan Jien answered.
"And what about the craftsmanship?" Li Yanqiu pressed on.
"You can rest assured about our craftsmanship; there are absolutely no issues!" Yan Jien guaranteed.
"Alright then, thank you for your help!" Li Yanqiu nodded.
"You're welcome!" Yan Jien smiled.
After chatting for a while longer, they exchanged keys. Yan Jien sent the draftsman back to the company and then went to the building materials market to confirm the purchase of furniture.
The next day, Yan Jien delivered the furniture to his new home and began arranging it.
"Hmm? Yan Weila also lives here?" Yan Jien was surprised. Apartment 2802 in Building 16 across from him was indeed Yan Weila's place.
