On the way home, Yan Jien's mind was filled with the scent emanating from Tong Liya. It was a fragrance that brought a sense of tranquility to men. Although he didn't know what it was, he loved to smell it, even wishing he could swallow that scent whole. 0

He realized that he indeed had feelings for Tong Liya, something he didn't want to admit, but the truth was right in front of him. However, could he bring happiness to Tong Liya now? 0

Yan Jien didn't know the answer. Given his current situation, it would be a feat just to ensure he didn't hurt Tong Liya, let alone make her happy. Moreover, there was a possibility that he might lose control again. 0

"Maybe it's best to keep my distance from her," Yan Jien sighed and murmured to himself. 0

Upon returning to his rented room, Yan Jien saw Yan Weila limping as she carried a basin, preparing to hang out the laundry. Her face was damp, likely just washed up. Seeing Yan Weila reminded Yan Jien that he had promised to pack food for her but had forgotten, making him feel a bit guilty. 0

"How's your leg?" Yan Jien asked awkwardly. 0

"It's getting better. The doctor said I can have the cast removed in another half month," Yan Weila replied with a smile. 0

"I'm really sorry! I had something going on yesterday and forgot to pack food for you," Yan Jien apologized. 0

"It's fine; this little injury doesn't bother me," Yan Weila said with a smile. However, Yan Jien could sense her underlying dissatisfaction. 0

"Don't worry; I will definitely do what I promised you," Yan Jien said earnestly. 0

"Okay, thank you, Brother Yan," Yan Weila expressed her gratitude. 0

"No need to mention it; you should go hang out the laundry!" Yan Jien encouraged. 0

"Alright," Yan Weila nodded and then, using her crutch, slowly made her way toward the laundry area. 0

Watching Yan Weila's back, Yan Jien felt a mix of emotions. 0

Back in his room, Yan Jien glanced at the clock; it was already nine fifty-five in the evening. With only five minutes until ten o'clock, he immediately sat cross-legged and began meditating. 0

Ten minutes later, after finishing his meditation, he stood up and stretched his muscles. The itchiness had vanished, replaced by fatigue. However, he was already accustomed to this kind of tiredness; he knew it was due to the mental exertion from meditation and that resting for one night would restore him. 0

He took off his shirt and started doing push-ups. This was an effective way for him to combat losing control. Each time he finished a set of push-ups, it helped alleviate the fatigue caused by his struggles with self-control. 0

"One hundred one... one hundred two..." Yan Jien counted as he continued his workout. 0

As he trained more consistently, the number of push-ups increased significantly; now he could do over a hundred. He believed that as long as he persisted, there would come a day when he could overcome losing control and manage his body effortlessly. 0

After completing his push-ups and sweating profusely, he wiped his sweat and headed into the bathroom for a shower. 0

After showering, Yan Jien lay on his bed and began contemplating his future. 0

The current version of myself is no longer an ordinary person. I possess abilities that ordinary people do not have, yet I cannot live like them; I can only exist like a ghost, unable to let others know of my presence. This kind of life is not what I want, but I have no choice but to accept it. 0

"Am I supposed to live like this for the rest of my life?" Yan Jien thought, feeling discontented. He wanted to change his situation, but he didn't know how to do it. 0

"Perhaps I should change my environment," Yan Jien murmured to himself. His current job is as an interior designer, and he is usually quite busy with work, often working overtime, leaving him no time to do what he wants. Therefore, he plans to resign and find a more relaxed job so that he can have extra time to deal with his own matters. 0

"I'll resign tomorrow," Yan Jien decided. 0

Meanwhile, in another room, Li Yanqiu and Han Li sat in chairs, both staring at the large screen mounted on the wall, which displayed the surveillance video from Yan Jien's room. 0

"He has been in the room for half an hour; he shouldn't be going out again, right?" Han Li asked. 0

"Let's wait a bit longer," Li Yanqiu replied. 0

"Captain, I don't understand. We've been watching for so long and haven't discovered anything. Do you think that thing might have already escaped?" Han Li questioned. 0

"It shouldn't have," Li Yanqiu shook his head. 0

"Why not?" Han Li asked in confusion. 0

"That thing is very clever; it knows it can't match us in strength, so it hides away. It's doing this to avoid being caught by us," Li Yanqiu explained. 0

"Then why did it choose this place?" Han Li asked. 0

"I can't say for sure," Li Yanqiu replied, shaking his head. 0

"Captain, I'm having a hard time understanding," Han Li said. 0

"What don't you understand?" Li Yanqiu asked. 0

"You said it fears us, so why does it still dare to move around here?" Han Li wondered aloud. 0

"Maybe it has some unavoidable reason," Li Yanqiu speculated. 0

"So what do we do now?" Han Li asked. 0

"We wait," Li Yanqiu answered. 0

"Wait for what?" Han Li questioned in confusion. 0

"Wait until tomorrow," Li Yanqiu said. 0
"Captain, what do you mean?" Han Li asked. 0
"Tomorrow we'll bring a few more goats over and attach a Locator to one of them. As soon as that thing shows up, we can catch it," Li Yanqiu said. 0
"Yeah, good idea," Han Li nodded. 0
