I tilted my head back, closed my eyes, and felt the warmth of the sun.
"Don't be sad," a familiar voice suddenly rang in my ears.
I opened my eyes wide and turned to look.
It was Kumamoto Bear.
It squatted by my feet, raised its hand, and gently patted my leg.
I laughed, "It's you again."
It nodded.
I chuckled, "How did you know I was here?"
It raised its hand and pointed at my bag.
I was taken aback for a moment, then realized it had been following me.
I smiled, "Have you been following me all along?"
It nodded.
I laughed again, "You're so nice."
It gently rubbed its head against my leg, as if trying to comfort me.
I smiled and patted its head, "Thank you."
Suddenly, it stood up, walked in front of me, lowered its head, and gently touched my lips with its mouth.
I froze, staring at it with wide eyes.
It winked at me, its mouth slightly open to reveal a row of white teeth.
I laughed, "What are you doing?"
It lightly bumped me with its head, then raised its hand and took off its headpiece.
I looked at him in shock.
Chen Shan looked at me, the corners of his mouth curling into a faint smile: "Being rejected after confessing is your punishment."
I stared at him blankly: "Chen Shan..."
He smiled, "What's wrong? Am I so handsome that you're speechless?"
I bit my lip and looked at him as my eyes gradually turned red.
He looked at me, his eyes deepening, and slowly lowered his head to kiss my lips. "Chen Qian, I like you. Will you accept my confession?"
I looked at him, tears streaming down my face, and nodded slightly. "I will."
I glared at him. "Why are you dressed as Kumamoto Bear?"
He chuckled. "To give you a surprise."
I huffed. "More like a scare."
He laughed. "Little Duck, were you scared?"
I shot him a glare. "You're the little duck."
He smiled. "You are my little duck."
My face turned red. "You're the big bad wolf."
He nodded. "Yes, I am the big bad wolf." Saying this, he hugged me tightly. "I want to eat you up."
I laughed and pushed him away. "I'm not afraid of you."
He raised an eyebrow. "Then do you want to try?"
My face turned even redder. "No, I don't."
He chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Little Duck, you're really cute."
I glared at him again. "You're the little duck."
He laughed again. "Yes, I'm the little duck, and you're the big bad wolf."
I smiled and hugged him. "That's right, I'm the big bad wolf, so be careful."
He held me close. "I'm not afraid; you're mine."
I smiled back. "You're mine too."
We embraced each other, feeling each other's warmth and heartbeat, our hearts incredibly at peace. In that moment, I knew I had found the person I was looking for.
That evening, I went out to dinner with Chen Shan and then returned to the dormitory together. When we reached the entrance of the girls' dormitory, he stopped and looked at me. "Little Duck, I'm heading back now."
I nodded. "Okay."
He looked at me and said, "You go in first. I want to watch you enter."
I smiled and replied, "Okay."
I turned around and walked into the dormitory building. As I approached the elevator, I glanced back; he was still standing there, watching me.
I smiled at him, and he smiled back.
I stepped into the elevator, pressed the button for my floor, and as the doors closed, I took out my phone and sent him a message: [I arrived.]
Soon, he replied: [Yeah, get some rest early.]
I smiled and said, "Mm."
That night, I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, his image filling my mind.
I took out my phone and messaged him: [Are you asleep?]
He quickly replied: [Not yet, thinking of you.]
I felt my face flush: [I miss you too.]
He sent a voice message: "Little Duck, I'm very happy."
I smiled and replied, "I'm happy too."
We chatted until late into the night before finally falling asleep.
The next day, I was awakened by a phone call.
It was Yuanyuan calling.
Still groggy, I answered the phone: "Hello?"
Yuanyuan's urgent voice came through: "Xiao Qian, where are you?"
I yawned and said, "In the dormitory, what's up?"
She continued, "Cui Lidong is looking for you. I told him you were at the Music Square."
I immediately woke up: "What did you say?"
She sounded a bit guilty: "I'm sorry; I accidentally let it slip. I'm currently with Cui Lidong; hurry up and come."
I said, "Okay."
