I met her gaze and said seriously, "I've decided to break up with him. I won't have any more ties with him in the future." 0
She sighed in relief and softly replied, "That's good." 0
I picked up my coffee and took a sip. 0
She smiled and asked, "How long have you been together?" 0
I thought for a moment and answered, "A little over three months." 0
She nodded, "Three months..." 0
She let out a bitter laugh, "We were together for three years." 0
I looked up at her. 0
She smiled faintly, "Actually, I feel quite sorry for him." 0
I remained silent, listening quietly. 0
She slowly continued, "We were together for three years, always proud, neither of us willing to back down. Then we broke up over a small misunderstanding." 0
She sighed, "I've always wanted to talk to him, but I was afraid he would blame me. After all... I was the one who gave up on him first." 0
I softly said, "He never blamed you." 0
She paused in surprise, "Really?" 0
I nodded. 0
She smiled gently, "That's good." 0
She took a sip of her coffee and said softly, "You know? I've always been worried that he would hold a grudge against me." 0
I shook my head, "He doesn't hold a grudge; he has always liked you." 0
Her eyes turned red, "I know." 0
She choked up and said, "I know that, which makes it even harder to bear." 0
She looked at me with red-rimmed eyes and said, "Do you know? Sometimes I think about what it would be like if I hadn't left him back then." 0
I smiled and replied, "Then you two would probably be doing well." 0
She chuckled softly and said, "Maybe." 0
She took another sip of coffee and continued softly, "Actually, I've always wanted to come back to find him, but I was afraid it would affect his feelings, so I never dared to return." 0
She looked at me seriously and said, "Chen Qian, please don't get involved with him anymore, okay?" 0
I nodded, "Okay." 0
She sighed in relief and whispered, "Thank you." 0
I smiled back, "No need to thank me." 0
After finishing her coffee, she bid me farewell and left. 0
I watched her retreating figure with a bit of sadness in my heart. 0
In truth, she really loved Cui Lidong. 0

I took out my phone and sent a message to Cui Lidong: "Let's end this." 0
He quickly replied: "Okay, let's break up." 0
Looking at the four words he sent, I finally let out a sigh of relief. 0
Everything was over. 0
I deleted all his contact information—WeChat, phone number, everything. 0
From now on, we would never see each other again. 0

That evening, I posted an update on my social media. 0
"I've made up my mind." 0
As soon as I posted it, many people commented, asking what was wrong. 0
I picked one comment to reply to and asked: "Do you think Cui Lidong and I can get back together?" 0
The person immediately responded: "Did you guys break up?" 0
I sent them a screenshot of me deleting all of Cui Lidong's contact information, with the caption: "Yeah, we broke up." 0
They quickly replied: "Wow, you really broke up?" 0
I smiled and said, "Yeah." 0
They asked again: "Why did you break up?" 0
I replied: "We're not compatible." 0
The person seemed unconvinced: "Just like that?" 0
I smiled again: "What else is there?" 0
They still seemed reluctant to accept it: "You were together for only three months; you decided to break up so soon?" 0
I replied: "Feelings aren't about duration; if it's not right, it's not right." 0
Finally, they stopped responding. 0
I scrolled through my social media again and noticed many comments asking about my breakup with Cui Lidong. I replied to each one, then exited the app, set my phone aside, and lay down to sleep. 0

The next morning, I woke up and picked up my phone to find my social media buzzing again. 0
I opened it to see everyone discussing my breakup with Cui Lidong. 0
"Have you heard? Chen Qian and Cui Lidong broke up." 0
"Is it true?" 0
"I saw it yesterday; Chen Qian posted on social media that she broke up with Cui Lidong." 0
"Why did they break up?" 0
"Not sure; she didn't say." 0
As I read everyone's comments, I felt a warmth in my heart. 0

So many people actually care about me. I smiled, put down my phone, got out of bed, and washed up. After I finished washing up, I went to the cafeteria for breakfast and then headed to class. 0

After class, I took out my phone to call Chen Shan and ask how he had been lately. I dialed his number, but no one answered on the other end. I frowned and tried a few more times, but still no response. I felt a slight shock and a bit anxious. Why wasn't he answering the phone? Had he gone missing again? I bit my lip, feeling a little upset. 0

Holding my phone, I walked forward absentmindedly when suddenly someone called out to me: "Chen Qian." I turned to see it was my advisor. I hurried over and said, "Teacher." She smiled and said, "Chen Qian, please help the new exchange students get familiar with the campus." I nodded and replied, "Sure." She patted my shoulder and said, "Do well." I nodded vigorously and said, "I will." 0

I took the exchange students around the campus; they were very enthusiastic and asked me questions along the way. After showing them around, we exchanged contact information, and I let them explore on their own. 0

I returned to the music plaza, sat down on a bench, took out my phone again, and called Chen Shan once more—still no answer. I sighed, put my phone back in my bag, and looked up at the sky. The weather was beautiful today; the sun was warm, and the breeze was gentle. Suddenly, I felt very lonely. 0
