I smiled at him, "Director Li, why are you looking at me like that?"
Li Yan chuckled, "It's nothing."
After a pause, he asked again, "Miss Ye, I want to ask you a question."
"What question?"
"What do you think Director Han is like?" Li Yan asked.
I looked at him, feeling secretly cautious.
He was testing me.
I smiled, " Director Han is a very capable person."
"Is that all?" Li Yan raised an eyebrow.
I nodded, "That's all."
Li Yan looked at me, seemingly unconvinced.
I smiled again, "Director Li, why are you so concerned about Director Han?"
Li Yan was taken aback for a moment before laughing, "I'm the company's Chief Financial Officer; of course I need to care about company matters."
I nodded, "That makes sense."
Li Yan looked at me with deep eyes, "Miss Ye, it seems you trust Director Han quite a bit."
I smiled, "He is my boss; of course I have to trust him."
Li Yan raised an eyebrow, "Just a boss?"
I looked at him and smiled, "What else could it be?"
Li Yan stared at me as if trying to discern something from my gaze.
But I did not flinch; instead, I stared directly at him. I knew that if I flinched, he would suspect me. Therefore, I absolutely could not flinch. Eventually, Li Yan withdrew his gaze and smiled, "It's nothing." I smiled back, "Director Li, I have a question I'd like to ask you." "Go ahead." "How is the company's financial situation right now?" I asked. Li Yan raised an eyebrow, "Why do you want to know that?" I smiled, "I want to understand the company's situation better." Li Yan looked at me, seemingly trying to discern my intentions. I smiled, "If it's inconvenient for you to say, that's fine." Li Yan was silent for a moment before speaking, "The company's financial situation is not very good." "Oh?" "The company's debt ratio is quite high, and the recent performance has not been great," Li Yan said. I frowned, "Why?" Li Yan shook his head, "I don't know either." I looked at him, silently pondering. It seemed that the company's financial situation was indeed not optimistic. I needed more information.
