At this moment, the most terrifying thing was Wu Kai in the Gray Mist. His body was completely frozen, unable to move at all. He had long seen the mutation of the Corpse, but he was powerless to stop it. When he heard a voice coming from the Gray Mist, his heart sank in fear.

"Get away from me!" Suddenly, Wu Kai opened his eyes wide, his gaze filled with swirling gray clouds. With a mere wave of his hand, the leaping Soul Devouring Beast was sent flying. Silver blood splattered everywhere.
Then Wu Kai closed his eyes again, seemingly not yet fully merged; that had just been an instinctive reaction.
"Roar..." The three Soul Devouring Beasts continued to roar, but ultimately they could do nothing to Wu Kai. Then they surprisingly turned around, dragging the injured Soul Devouring Beast into the passage at the end of the Hall and disappearing from sight. It seemed they were afraid and chose to flee.
"Damn it, what is going on?" At this moment, Brute Force and the others had woken up. They had just witnessed the scene where the Soul Devouring Beast was sent flying and saw it escape. They felt a chill when looking at Wu Kai wrapped in the Gray Mist in the distance.
"I'm afraid that Ren Pingsheng was right; this Corpse must be sealed within the Altar. That Demon Beast is likely here to suppress the Corpse. But now that the Corpse has been brought out of the Altar, they can no longer suppress it and thus fled," Li Feng said with a grim expression.

Li Feng reacted fastest; as soon as the Spatial Ring hit the ground, he reached out to grab it just as it was about to land in his hands. Suddenly, a gust of gray mist swept through, and the ring vanished without a trace.
The five were stunned for a moment before they quickly reacted and retreated cautiously while watching Wu Kai with wary expressions. At this time, Wu Kai's appearance and aura had changed dramatically; his eyes swirled with gray clouds, enveloping him in an air of mystery.
"How many thousands of years has it been? I have finally come back to life. It seems you have obtained the treasure map I left behind back then, which is why you are here. I really must thank you!" Wu Kai said hoarsely.
"Who exactly are you?" Brute Force's expression changed upon hearing about the treasure map. Realizing that the treasure map they had obtained was actually left by this person, he immediately felt a sense of foreboding.

Not only did it have golden fur, but even the mark on its forehead was not that of a blood-colored evil spirit but rather a silver Sky-Devouring Night Demon.
This demon had wings, three eyes, and held a trident that shimmered with silver light. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the third eye was constantly spinning. Just by looking at it for a moment made him feel as if his soul was being drawn away; he couldn't even move. Only by hastily severing his spiritual connection did he regain his senses. Compared to the evil spirit on the Soul Devouring Beast's forehead before, this one was even more terrifying.

"Roar..." The golden Soul Devouring Beast, unable to do anything to Ren Pingsheng, let out a pitiful cry and turned to run away. However, it suddenly stopped and stared into the distance of the passage instead of looking at Ren Pingsheng.
There seemed to be something in that direction that caught its attention. It paced anxiously on the ground but didn't dare approach, its small golden eyes showing some fear towards Ren Pingsheng.
Ren Pingsheng also noticed something unusual; his heart stirred as he immediately turned to look back down the path they had come from. Calming himself, he sensed something rapidly approaching, which made him alert.
He had been in this passage for half an hour now. If those from Brute Force were planning to deal with that Corpse, they would have acted long ago. If everything was as he suspected, that Corpse might have already undergone some transformation. Could it be that what was rushing towards them from the end of the passage was that transformed Corpse?
