Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, Ren Pingsheng and Leizhen have been here for a year. During this time, they have lived quite comfortably and gained much.
One day, while Ren Pingsheng and Leizhen were chatting, they suddenly noticed the sky beginning to darken, the sun's brilliance gradually fading. This startled them, and they immediately looked up to observe closely.
"What is this..." Leizhen said, looking at the entire sky shrouded in black Demonic Energy, the sun being devoured. He quickly realized what was happening; he had seen such phenomena twice before, and this was the third time.
"It seems another Demon God Heart is emerging," Ren Pingsheng thought to himself, knowing what was going on. He also took a moment to reflect on the Demon God Heart in his left chest, feeling somewhat emotional.
The Demon Emperor had told him that there were nine Demon God Hearts in total. Now that one-third had emerged, the rest would likely follow suit. Remembering what he had heard about the Chaos of the World, he began to form some guesses in his mind.
"It seems the rumors are true; chaos is likely approaching!" Leizhen said with some concern.
"Haha, for us, whether in chaos or peace, improving our cultivation is always the most important thing. As long as we have formidable cultivation, we can handle anything."
"You're right; no matter what, cultivation is always paramount."
By this time, the sky had completely darkened. They had experienced this before; such a situation would last for an hour before dissipating. Just as they were thinking this, a red light suddenly appeared in the endless darkness, breaking through the Demonic Energy and rapidly expanding.
In just a few blinks, it spread across half the sky. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly boundless flames contending with the Demonic Energy, each occupying half of the sky. Gradually, within those flames, a great bird engulfed in fire appeared soaring high.
"This... this is the Vermilion Bird!" Leizhen exclaimed in astonishment. Ren Pingsheng shared a similar expression; they did not expect such a change to occur.
At that moment, Azure Dragon suddenly appeared in Mountain Valley with Yi Qingyi, and both immediately bowed respectfully.
"Senior, what is this phenomenon? Could you please enlighten us?" Ren Pingsheng asked after seeing that Yi Qingyi was unharmed and had made significant progress in cultivation.
"Actually, it's not much of a secret; you should have seen such phenomena twice before. The Demonic Energy signifies that a Demon God Heritage has emerged. The red flames and the Vermilion Bird appearing within them represent that the Vermilion God’s Heritage has also emerged."
"Demon God Heritage? Demon God Heritage?" Both of them were astonished and finally understood the significance of this phenomenon. With the emergence of Demon Gods and recalling the recent emergence of Thunder God Legacy, they felt an even greater sense of impending pressure.
"Ah, I wonder when our Azure Dragon God's Heritage will emerge!" Azure Dragon said with some emotion. Among the demon clans, Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise each had a Demon God overseeing them and were among the top tier. Now that the Vermilion God's Heritage had emerged, Azure Dragon naturally hoped for their own Azure Dragon God's Heritage to emerge as well.
"Senior, how does my Thunder God Legacy compare to theirs?" Leizhen asked softly. However, his expression was not very confident. After all, the emergence of Thunder God Legacy did not create such an astonishing commotion.
"Well, this brings us to the distinction between Race God and Divine-Level Expert. In fact, among your human race, the most powerful titles are War God and Sword God, which are on par with the demon god Demon God. As for the Thunder God, he can only be considered a top-tier Divine-Level Expert, but he still falls far short compared to them."
Suddenly, a sound of sword resonance echoed throughout the heavens and earth, reaching all martial artists on the Tianlan Continent, as if it were ringing in their ears. Then, all sword-wielding martial artists felt their swords trembling in their hands, seemingly welcoming something.
Soon they discovered a golden Longsword tearing through the sky. With just a gentle twist, the nearby Black Magic Energy and red Demonic Energy were completely shattered.
The previously evenly matched Demonic Energy and Demonic Energy were forced back by the appearance of the Longsword, resulting in a division of three parts of the world, each vying for supremacy.
Ren Pingsheng gripped his Windscar Sword, staring at the golden Longsword that appeared in the sky, filled with astonishment. He never expected such an anomaly to occur again.
"What is happening today? The Sword God Heritage of your human race has actually emerged," said Azure Dragon, his expression grave; this was clearly quite abnormal.
"Sword God Heritage?" Ren Pingsheng murmured to himself. As a swordsman himself, seeing this Sword God Heritage ignited a fire in his heart, but unfortunately, this Heritage had fallen into someone else's hands. He thought about how he, as the bearer of the Ancient Lan Divine Art, had only ever possessed one technique. There was no astonishing Sword Technique, nor any remarkable phenomena; he truly wondered if this could be considered a real Heritage.
However, recalling the overwhelming Sword Light he had witnessed during the great battle among various races in the Heritage space, he felt more at ease. Those were all bearers of the Ancient Lan Divine Art Heritage, and if they could possess such terrifying power, he surely would not be lacking; perhaps he just hadn't yet encountered true Heritage.
"The brilliance of the Three Races Divine Heritage is truly unprecedented! This sign of chaos is already evident; we humans cannot afford to relax! With the emergence of the Sword God Heritage, other Heritage may soon follow," many high-ranking members of the human race gathered together to discuss.
"The emergence of the Sword God Heritage raises a question: why has the most important one not yet appeared? There hasn't even been a hint," said the Vice Master of the Heavenly Mechanism Sect, quietly standing atop a mountain and speaking softly to himself.
"This calamity is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous in history. If its bearer emerges, our human race still has hope to survive. Otherwise, we may be in grave danger. The battle with the demon race one hundred thousand years ago caused immense losses for our human race; we have yet to recover! There are less than five hundred years left—too short."
An entire hour passed before all three anomalies in the sky disappeared. However, this day would be unforgettable for everyone on the Tianlan Continent. They witnessed a spectacle they would never see again in their lives, and at the same time, news of an impending calamity was confirmed. The entire continent stirred with hidden currents once more.
"Well then, whether it's humans or demons, those are matters for later; at least for now we still coexist peacefully. You have been here for about a year; it is time for you to leave," said Azure Dragon, coming back to his senses and smiling at the three.
"Senior, I have one more request; I wonder if I should say it," hesitated Ren Pingsheng, but ultimately couldn't hold back.
"Oh? What is it? Speak up."
"It's like this: when I was just cultivating earlier, I encountered a senior who asked me to help him find two types of Elixir: one is Life and Death Grass, and the other is Yin Yang Fruit. He poisoned me at that time; after a hundred years, I will die from it unless I become an Emperor-Level Expert. So..."
"Oh, I see. Unfortunately, I don't have those two types of Elixir, but I can help you with the poison. As long as his cultivation isn't higher than mine, it should be fine; let me take a look!"
"Hmm, it's actually Heart-Eating Poison. You're not wrong; even a King-Level Martial Artist can't withstand this kind of poison. This person's cultivation should be at least at the Emperor Level, so it's not too difficult. Considering your connection to the Thunder Pearl, I'll help you resolve it," said Azure Dragon, somewhat surprised.
He waved his hand, and streams of green light surged into Ren Pingsheng's body. Then, a very concealed area within his body was surrounded by the green light. Gradually, a black poison spot was expelled and flashed out of his body.
"Alright, put this stuff in a jade bottle! There is still a trace of that person's consciousness on it; if it gets destroyed, he will notice," said the Azure Dragon. Hearing this, Ren Pingsheng immediately took out a jade bottle, and the green light quickly transferred into it.
"Thank you, Senior!" Ren Pingsheng expressed his gratitude.
"This is just our transaction; it's mutually beneficial! You have my scale on you, and as long as you don't deliberately cause trouble when you go out, those Little Ones won't pose any threat to you. If you need my help with anything, just inject True Qi into the scale, and I will be transported to you. But it's only usable once; after that, the scale will disappear, so think carefully before using it. Now, leave!"
After the Azure Dragon finished speaking, without waiting for the three of them to respond, he waved his hand and teleported them away. Then he took out the Thunder Pearl and said with a somewhat dazed expression, "I hope I didn't make a mistake by doing this! Becoming a Divine-Level Expert is too important for me."
When Ren Pingsheng and the others came to their senses, they immediately realized they had exited the central area. This saved them five hundred thousand miles of travel time. They quickly oriented themselves and headed towards the Eastern Region.
At first, they were still cautious because they didn't know if what the Azure Dragon said was true. It wasn't until they encountered an Emperor-Level Beast that they prepared to fight desperately; however, the Demon Beast merely glanced at them before leaving. They then understood that what the Azure Dragon said was indeed true.
It seemed that the scale carried the Azure Dragon's aura, so other Demon Beasts would respectfully make way for them upon encountering them. The three were overjoyed upon realizing this, as it made their journey much safer. However, they were also self-aware and did not provoke any trouble as they hurried towards the Eastern Region.
After half a year of traveling, they finally exited Azure Mist Mountain. In fact, after leaving the most dangerous depths of Azure Mist Mountain, they had managed to experience their way through without much trouble along the way.
"Ah... finally out of Azure Mist Mountain; this journey has not been easy!" Ren Pingsheng looked back at the continuous mountain range and said with some emotion.
"Yes, we are truly blessed to have survived this time," Leizhen said as he took a deep breath, recalling some lingering fears. If it weren't for Ren Pingsheng obtaining the Thunder Pearl and World-Ending Thunder, they would have definitely struggled to make it out alive.
