"Oh, it's Captain Yang returning! Please come in quickly. The president asked me to inform you to meet her when you arrive," one of the Yongbing Guild members immediately said with a smile.
"Alright, I will go. Let's move into the city," Yang Chen shouted angrily as he urged Xiaotian to enter Loulan City.
"Feel free to do as you wish; let's gather at the auction house at eight tonight. You all know what to do. Food, drinks, and entertainment—put it all on my tab," Yang Chen instructed.
"Yes, leader," everyone responded before dispersing.
Yang Chen wandered around alone for a bit; finding nothing to do, he decided to go find Luo Xi at the Yongbing Guild. Suddenly, he heard a voice: "Young man, your face is filled with murderous intent; you must have caused quite a bit of slaughter already, right? If you don't mind, why not come sit down? Let's have a chat? Oh, I won't charge you anything." Yang Chen turned to see an old man sitting at a small stall with a young man around twenty standing behind him. The stall had a Bagua symbol prominently displayed on it, and there were couplets hanging on both sides: Usurping Fate and Creating Destiny, Myriad Forms and Manifestations.
"Oh? May I ask how to address you, old man?" Yang Chen hesitated for a moment before sitting down opposite him and spoke up.
"Old man calls himself Tianjizi, may I ask how to address you, young friend?" Tianjizi said.
"Yang Chen," Yang Chen replied.
"Ah, I observe from your face that you seem troubled today. Is there something on your mind?" Tianjizi inquired.
"Indeed, there is a concern," Yang Chen admitted.
"Why not let me calculate for you and see if there is a solution?" Tianjizi suggested.
"Mr. Tianjizi, this matter may be beyond our capabilities," Yang Chen said bitterly, recalling the influence of the alchemists and smiling helplessly.
"If you don't try, how will you know the outcome? How about this: why not write a character here for me to guess and see if there is a way to resolve it?" Tianjizi proposed.
"Is that so?" Yang Chen frowned slightly and said, "Alright, I will write a character." Taking the brush handed to him by the man behind Tianjizi, Yang Chen thought for a moment and wrote the character 'City' on the paper. Though not flamboyant, it was acceptable.
Tianjizi took a look and said, "With 'Earth' on the left and 'Become' on the right, everywhere is a city. Young friend, you have ambitions to conquer the world."
Hearing this, Yang Chen felt relieved and lazily replied, "That’s what you say; don’t drag me into it. Characters can have thousands of interpretations, and people have myriad appearances. Please continue, old sir." Yang Chen said playfully but gestured for Tianjizi to go on.
"Ha ha, interesting indeed. Characters can have thousands of interpretations; people have myriad appearances. Ha ha, today I have encountered a noble person!" Tianjizi laughed heartily and continued, "With '土' (earth) on the left and 'Become' on the right. If young friend wishes to dominate the world, you must build a city in the desert region. Therefore, Loulan City should be your goal. Am I correct?"
"Old sir, please do not ask me. The interpretation of characters depends on the individual; everyone sees different signs. Please continue," Yang Chen declined.
"You play this hand beautifully, young friend. Alright, let me say a few more words. Currently, Loulan City presents a Tripartite Balance. There is also an alchemist guild maintaining balance nearby; once one side becomes strong, the alchemists will join the weaker side. So you are worried about this matter, correct?" "Tiansi, from now on you will follow young friend Yang Chen," Tianjizi instructed.
"Yes, Master," Tian Ci said respectfully. "I have met Brother Yang Chen."
"Brother Tian Ci, you are too polite. From now on, you will be the commander of the Fourth Legion of the Shadow Kill Yongbing Group. Are you willing?" Yang Chen said.
"I will follow your orders."
"Old sir, I am not sure how to proceed now," Yang Chen inquired.
"Just do as you should. I will handle the Alchemist Guild for you," Tian Ji Zi said confidently.
"Then thank you very much, sir."
"Yes, just do as you should. Tian Ci, assist young friend Yang Chen well. I will come to find you soon." With that, he vanished in a flash.
"Yes, I respectfully send off the Master," Tian Ci said.
Yang Chen watched Tian Ji Zi's departing figure in silence for a moment before saying, "Tian Ci, let's go. We will head to the Yongbing Guild first."
"Yes," Tian Ci replied. Yang Chen struggled to push through the crowd at the Yongbing Guild with Tian Ci before finally entering the back hall of the guild.
"Qian Er," Yang Chen called out lightly from the back hall to let the beautiful woman know he had arrived.
